His views regarding piano competitions is so right. I'm a fan of Katsaris from Philippines

One of the best pianists alive & yet so down to Earth. So many mediocre music professors could learn from his humbleness.
    Thanks for making & posting!

Thanks so much for posting this Melanie! Cyprien is my favorite contemporary pianist. I adore him and his interpretations. I would absolutely love to meet him and study, for even a short time with him!

What a wonderful personality Cyprien is.... reminds me of Rubenstein, just a love for life. It's inspiring to listen to him, just like his playing (and amazing contrapuntal abilities that Chopin performers often lack IMO)

Thanks Aiden! It is quite echoy, but in this case it's caused by the room I think - when I film in venues with carpet etc, the quality is fine :-)

I agree with the opinion over competitions--he is a very creative person and sometimes perfection is a possible limitation from developing your personal pianistic voice.

I stopped recording interviews a few years ago, partly because my camera was substandard. But also because it was really just a hobby - something I did in my spare time! Glad you have enjoyed them all.

Gina Bachauer played Rach 3 in the 50s. But yes, certainly unusual.
