Version 5.4: So i found out you a way that works better for me:
Step 1: edit one of the pictures in the editor
Step 2: go back to the file browser
Step 3: right-click the picture you edited
Step 4: Mouse over [processing profile operations] and click [copy]
Step 5: Select the pictures you want to apply the processing profile to and right-click them
Step 6: Mouse over [processing profile operations] and click [paste]
Step 7: right click again and add them to the queue

Great video! I'm moving from Lightroom to RawTherapee and while I love the ability to attack the file so many ways, it's definitely a bit of a challenge to learn all the new bits.
I'm curious - why do you do an S curve both in the exposure settings and in the b/w settings? What advantage does this give you over just doing it in b/w? Or just doing it in color?

I also, was using Adobe Lightroom, (LR-6.2), until I found out that Adobe have stripped
this version of useful functions that were available in earlier versions ie: De-Haze for one.
Adobe have moved to LR-CC which is cloud based and charged monthly at £9.99 (£10)
that will be like buying the £120 LR-6.2 every year!! Ridiculous for an ammature user!!
I contacted Adobe via their forum, to complain about all these issues, etc.
Adobe responded, to the effect that the connection had been lost and would I log in again
to get the customer support with my complaint. (nice one Adobe)
This is why I looked, and found RawTherepee, an amazing Open Source program.
I also use GIMP and Qimage Ultimate $50 ish one off payment, for printing set-ups.
Between the three who needs Adobe. They have just "killed the golden goose" Thank you for this tutorial it's most useful.

Hey Desmond. Do you know if there's a way to batch-rename files within RawTherapee?

    • @DesmondM
      @DesmondM  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Shaun. I'm sorry but I don't know of a way to batch-rename with RawTherapee. It might not be of much help but my preferred method is to rename on import. After that if I have a need to rename a lot of files at once my OS file manager (Dolphin) can do that easily. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

      ah, Damn.
That's a pity for sure. Thanks for the reply, man.
Will look into Dolphin -- I've heard of it one time before.

Very helpful video, thank you. Question for you. Are you familiar with LightZone? I've been using LightZone for about a month and I would like your take on it. lightzoneproject.org. Once again thank you for the video.

I am only passingly familiar with LightZone so far, but it looks very interesting. It certainly falls within the purview of this channel so I will definitely be giving it a go.

Edit I got it , it is working now.
Just a note. this program is a pain. make a mistake on 170+ images and it will not stop. esc or ctrl z will not work. just let it finish. Turning off the computer will not help you restart computer, reopen the files and bam there goes raw finishing your mistake.
And WTF happened to my original files? they are all now pp3 files. My raws are all gone,#$%#@!!
Thanks for the tutorial, really. I still have originals on camera or really do not need them so it ends well.
How do you make Raw T stop putting unwanted pp3 files everywhere?

This tutorial was mislabeled. It should have been called "How I Batch Process to Black and White."
