    There isn't a whole lot of tutorials on Rawtherapee on the web, but of the ones I've seen yours is definitely the best. You've gained a subscriber. I hope you do a deep dive into all the functions at some stage though, since you covered most of the stuff I've figured out already.

    Even though I haven't installed Rawtherapee yet (im just researching what the program can do and if it's of good use to me), this looks very promising!

    Thank you SO much. Recently got an Olympus, producing ORF RAW files. You've saved me a huge amount of hassle. My desktop PC has been Linux only (Kubuntu now) since the era of win95, so a LONG time. You've just shown me I definitely don't need to install windows dual-boot just to use OM Workshop. RawTherapee looks at least as good, probably better and is now installed in seconds from Synaptic.

    Thanks for your presesntation of RawTherapee. I have been considering this versus DarkTable. Both are good, but the deal breaker for me with DarkTable is, the interface fonts can not be changed, or at least I did not discover how to do so. The fonts are too tiny to be practical for me. I have to get close to the screen and look at them squint-eyed. In RawTherapee it is easy to change interface font sizes. Thanks again.

    Great overview of RT. I do wish people would stop talking about how RT being open source or free is the killer feature. RT has a lot more to offer and comes with some killer features compared to other RAW processors. I'm willing to pay for a great RAW processor if it means I get great image quality. RawTherapee does have a bit of a learning curve but it is worth the investment. The high quality floating point conversions alone are worth it. Options to select your democratizing algorithm, using color profiles, even JPEG matching just to mention some of the great features.

    • @jacobswing
      @jacobswing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree. price tag is normally why people get into using rawtherapee in the first place. I know it was for me. But once I started learning it, I was overwhelmed with all the options. IT IS SO POWERFUL! And that is why I stayed with it. thanks so much for your feedback!

    • @shadowbreaker
      @shadowbreaker ปีที่แล้ว

      What is "jpeg matching"?

    • @jjuarez83
      @jjuarez83 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shadowbreaker RT can read the embeded JPEG and atempts to match the curves to give you a image similar to what you would have gotten with the original JPEG. There is more to that but it is something.

      Rawtherapee doesn't natively support that feature. So the best option is to export your photo as a tiff and then use gimp to remove the spots. Here is my tutorial on that: th-cam.com/video/V33N0vEkX58/w-d-xo.html
