  • This is my favorite day of the syrup season. It probably takes a bit longer with the younger crew, but the cousins have a great time catching up and are helping more and more. Each year they need a little less hand-holding from the moms and gravitate towards following grandpa around. Its fun watching them learn the process over the years and see what memories they have from previous seasons.
We've finished tapping trees for the season and the forecast looks favorable for mostly warm days ahead. Stay tuned for additional updates on how the season is going and let us know if you want us to highlight any specific part of our process.
    Thanks for watching!

It's been an incredibly easy winter this year for us. We're in west-central WI, about an hour east of the Twin Cities.

I am stuck in Colorado but my sugar bush is in Vermont. I have an ag exemption which means I have to sugar no matter what. Plan is to move to Vermont full time. February has been cold. So no chance of tapping. The weather was good today but it’s getting cold again tomorrow. The states surrounding Vermont have had good early flows. Some in PA were even 2.5 percent flows. I may wind up waiting out this season. I can run about 3000 taps but I simply can’t get it done this year.
