Not as scary as that legendary bus scene, of course.
This is probably me overreaching a lot but while that health scare is certainly scary, at least it's on the doctors' radar now. Larry King was a smoker forever and had a heart attack in 1987 and whatever surgery they did kept his heart going for another 35 years. With good money and good doctors, you can, to a certain degree, achieve good health prospects.

Wow, this is the first I'd heard of it and I looked it up. Thank fuck he made it. And here I was worrying all this time that JONATHAN would be the one to worry about when it came to getting BCS season 6. I remember watching S5 right around when Covid was blowing up thinking "Damn they better protect Jonathan Banks at all costs.."

Better Call Saul is the best of the lot.
Bob is such an incredible actor. I never expected Better Call Saul to be as good as Breaking Bad, because that show really set the bar high. I think Better Call Saul could be my favourite of the two, I really care more about the characters on this show especially Saul and Kim.
Saul & Kim have something Walt & Jesse didn't.
Basic competence. Beside one or two tricks, Breaking Bad was the story of a conflicted man with a mean streak a mile wide _in way over his head._ That's not as fun as a terrified/excited conflicted man who _is the best in the world at something._ In this case, confidence schemes.
A friend of mine mentioned Better Call Saul was better than Breaking Bad. I thought he was nuts. Later I had to apologize to him as Better Call Saul was amazing.

Vince Gilligan casts these comedy actors to play dramas, and they blow everyone away. Odenkirk and Cranston (and too many of the folks on both shows who stood side by side with them) are just some of the best talents out there. Walt White and Jimmy McGill are some of the most compelling characters in the entire history of television.
I remember VG said on a BrBa podcast once that someone who is really good at comedy is often a great actor for the whole range. I don't have the exact episode or quote but it really stuck with me. Something to the effect of: the subtleties of comedic timing are so nuanced that if you master that you can do drama.
BrBa also had Bill Burr as one of Rails operators..

His relationship with Kim in Better Call Saul is amazing. They never say "I love you" once during the show, but you KNOW it. Such devotion and caring. Great writing and acting(so good it almost doesn't seem like they are acting)
Exactly! On the episode "bagman" when Jimmy calls Kim after the desert incident it hits way harder cause they don't show a ton of lovey scenes and like you said even say the words I love you so when you see Kim cry it just seems so much more real and great
Their wedding scene was literally PERFECT!! Kim is my favorite female character out of BB and BCS universe.

If you notice, they didn't show any shots of the audience, because nobody there. They're just sound effects, likely played for them to hear and respond to.

@@MiselStarmo older clips of full interviews before the pandemic ALWAYS had shots of the audience. Without exception. (Sometimes you might find a short clip with the audience edited out, but usually not) This full interview had NOT EVEN ONE. I can't prove it of course, but just pay close attention to it. Their reactions to the audience seem incredibly off, and the audience reactions all seem even less natural. I regard the lack of any audience shots as the nail in the coffin here, but if that doesn't convince you, oh well, it's not important, carry on with your life.
He's one of the good ones. It would've been devastating to lose someone as genuine, kind and talented as him too soon. Stay safe, Bob.

After watching the mid season finale of BCS, if Patrick Fabian doesn’t at least get an Emmy nomination for his performance, then that award show will lose whatever credibility it has left. Fabian was absolutely outstanding.

It's so interesting that Bob's facial expressions and gestures are so different from Jimmy's/Saul's. It shows how much actual effort was put into creating a fictional character
Better call Saul is probably one of the greatest character studies of all time. Bob gave his everything to this show. For breaking bad fans who haven’t seen it yet, do watch it!

Just look at his face when he’s talking about his heart attack. When he takes the time to thank people for the love he’s received, you know he means it. Look at how he stares at nothing for around 15 seconds and listen to his voice crack a little. He’s actually thankful.

Your performances with David Cross on Mr. Show changed how I saw sketch comedy when I was in my twenties and I have always appreciated your other works as well, following you since then. My dad passed becuz of heart attack a few years ago. Seems like it was just yesterday. So when I had heard Bob had a heart attack I was genuinely upset. What a relief he is alive and well. Some people unfortunately don't get that chance. Many blessing to him and anyone with any health issues.

When Colbert said “This is the last time you’ll be playing Saul Goodman” his response was “this is the last season” not this is the last time I’ll be playing Saul Goodman. That could be important. I’m hoping we get a Saul Goodman/ Kim Wexler movie about Saul’s arrest and trial. They did a post Breaking Bad movie with Jessie.
Probably more Kim focused because she's the Jesse esque side character to walt's Jimmy

Odenkirk is a great actor and I’m glad he has recovered from his recent heart incident. I’m so glad he is writing, and look forward to reading his book. And I enjoyed his turn as relentless powerhouse hero in “Nobody.” Always interesting to watch. Perhaps it’s his Everyman quality or maybe his acting is just that good. Perhaps a bit of both. Keep that heart happy, Bob, I am rooting for you.
Bob somehow passed me by 🤷♂️. I only happened across him when watching him in Nobody. Never realised he was a comedian. Brilliant in the film and seems like a really nice guy.

Better Call Saul is one of the greatest shows ever made. The writers are top quality and the entire cast from Seehorn, Esposito, Mando and especially Bob Odenkirk make the show so fun and interesting to watch. After BB ended this show was an extra treat that evolved into something even better, and it will be very hard to let Better Call Saul go, but I’m so glad it happened because it was just that good.
Just as I´m watching the newest and last season of BCS, I am so grateful for Bobs work. His acting feels so genuine and is really a standout in todays TV world. Big love
