Marcia Marcia Marcia! Did you see that Etro’s perfumes are going to be taken over by a brand that will destroy the juice (L’Oréal or somebody like that I think). I went and found a couple of old bottles on eBay right after hearing that….. I find it interesting that you think of Italian perfume as bubbly and simple. I have the exact opposite perception….loved your rant on Thom Browne…congratulations on your Myrrhe 55. You were destined to find each other…..oh my goodness so many comments, but wow on the estate perfumes. and yes your channel does slap

Loving your willingness to share and spread the vileness of the Thom Browne vetyver set! 😅

To be fair, they’re not trash… but they’re not great! And they’re VERY expensive.

Thank you! I actually wore Private Collection to the office today - a creamy, green delight. Huge bang for your buck!

Oh funny. I hit send on that comment before the very end of your video. Funny that I mentioned getting an old bottle of Etro because ‘obviously’ it would be better. I guess I am one of those snobs. A lot of times the differences are a matter of millimeters, but those millimeters are the difference between being sublime (the old stuff) and crap (the new). I am not a huge hunter of old, but I do seek it out. Or buy the indie stuff. But either the vintage or the new indie bottles are both expensive. so it doesn’t matter which i choose. Oh how I have normalized the stupid prices.

I agree that vintage is most often better, and I too will usually opt for the vintage if I can get it easily. But I am just annoyed by the reformulation scaremongers and the vintage bros whose attitude seems just to be "I have the ORGINAL, and until you've smelled the deep vintage, you don't know what you're talking about..."
And I shouldn't speak in such broad strokes about Italian v. French v. American perfume :P But I do think of Italian perfume as being more sensual, less cerebral when compared to French perfume. Still wonderful, and sometimes more satisfying! I think my reference "Italian" fragrances are Bruno Acampora's Musc and Gianni Versace EDT (1981).
