Hey, I am really thankful for this video. I just noticed a few hours ago, that I cannot close my Convertible on my 981 S any more. After following these steps, I could close convertible manually as shown + I tested the motor. it moves back and fore (so the motor seems okay). I assume that there is an issue with the sensore when the Convertible is open.
That’s the problem I’m having with my ‘14 Boxster
Great video buddy!! that latch replacement cost $800 +tax and add $800 more for Porsche labor
What do you do if the top won’t open? How do you remove the cover with the top closed?
Same procedure it seems, just did it. (though not in locked start position in my case)
Before starting to loosen the hook mechanism, a quick question. As my rooftop always stops half way, is it still necessary to tighten the two 13 mm screws (left/right) before loosening the hook mechanism ?
You can remove/fix the hook mechanism without having to disconnect the pillar side motors. In the video it was only done to show how to operate the top manually, in case it's stuck open or closed.
