  • In this video I show how to easily make a simple Bandsaw box.
I make the Bandsaw box from scrap boards I had laying around my shop from the many DIY projects I have made. The Bandsaw box is made from cedar wood and is shaped like a dog bone. I am going to use this particular Bandsaw box for my best friends Atlas and Mr.Capers. The Bandsaw box has a black walnut pull also made from scrap wood. I use a Rikon Bandsaw with a 3/8-inch blade. I would recommend a 1/8- inch blade to make Bandsaw boxes with which would make turning the corners much easier. I encourage you to try and make this simple Bandsaw box they are a lot of fun.

As a CNC guy, I was hoping you'd add some fourishes at the end to the face of the box using your CNC. I can imagine some intricate Vcarving with Mr. Atlas' name at the center.
When you're talking about flocking, a movie quote came to mind. It's from the 1982 film, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and is said by Burt Reynolds, where he's telling Dom DeLuise to get his group out of the the Whorehouse. He says, "get the flock out of here!" Seemed appropriate with all the talk about flocking.

Great demonstration! Do you have any other suggested patterns for someone that's a near total beginning with bandsaws like me?

      Thank you
I don’t have any specific patterns
However, creating your own pattern is very easy it can be just about any shape just keep in mind the width of your blade determines how tight your turning radius can be
