Fun fact: Those little robots you can see dive-bombing the ship? They're sentinels and the Forerunners (The guys who made them) made enough to literally create a planet out of them. There were possibly quintillions at the height of the Forerunner's empire.
Fun Fact: "Those little robots"(sentinels) aren't so little, they're about 2 meters long and are made of bs nie indestructible space metal patented by the forerunners, can move in any direction at theoretically any speed, have energy shields tough enough to(in lore) shrug off high velocity projectiles and anything short of an archer missile with a weird vulnerability to falling rocks and are specifically designed to make as short work as possible of varying scales of flood outbreak with a weirdly unexplored and unexplained resistance to the flood's capability to repurpose technology. there are 3 variants of medium sentinels, standard(silver, yellow beam weapon), commander(gold, white hot beam weapon), and one from infinite that I don't know what it's called using a weapon the banished likely derived their shock rifles from. overall "sentinel(s)" refer to any nonsentient machines the forerunners created. constructors, enforcers, the halo wars 2 iteration of enforcers and retrievers are other examples of sentinels seen in games and explored in the books. do I type to much? probably, does it matter? unlikely.
I really want a halo wars 3. So many people hated these games, but i loved it. The story alone was epic and getting to build your own army and pitting your wits against theirs was icing on the cake
Stories were good game was bad but I hate those top down build a base strategy type games. I’d rather take control and be in fp doing all the carnage lol
I really wish they didn't make the Sentinels kamakazi the ship. In the book Ghosts of Onyx, we hear how they can link up their energy projectors to make a massive beam that can cut through capital ships. Reading that in the book was sooooo cool, and it's a shame we didn't get to see it here.
while that would have been amazing to see, i can fan theory why they didn't do it. The oynx sentinels were designed with a military purpose, their AI would have been directed towards using their weapons to destroy intruders. The arks sentinels were maintence drones, not designed for combat at all beyond it been a last ditch effort (had the ark been attacked it meant all was lost anyway). Their AI is designed to maintain and prevent damage, so they will have analysed the situation and deemed that disabling (via cutting in 2) was the best course of action rather than destorying with a direct attack (and risking a secondary detonation which could harm the ark). They may also have not had that capacity, different sentinel designs afterall due to different factions building the instilations (the lesser ark was primarily a lifeworker project, the shield worlds were builder/warrior-servant projects), so they'd get their versions of sentinels.
@@cgi2002 My thoughts too. And even then, the brute force method of crashing into it was executed with typical Forerunner percision, cutting a straight line through the ship, presumably at it's most vulnerable point.
Until I heard Isabelle hearing all those voices while she was working to get the Covenant Cruiser killed, I had never considered the possibility of UNSC "Smart" AIs being sentient enough to suffer from PTSD.
as much as i love this game, Isable the Logistics AI is easily the worst character, just immagine for a momment you'd have to work with an AI that never gives a straight answer on you day to day job. I know the AIs in halo are supposed to be copies of peoples personality, but seriosly who put her in that job?
Los humanos en el universo del Halo son muy debiles, incluso algunos spartans son debiles, que lamentable historia hizo el creador de "mundo anillo"😢...
Still irritated that Red team can put AI into their armor when they shouldn't have the modifications to do so. Only chief received those as he was chosen by Cortana to be her partner. This also shouldn't have done much to that ship, it wouldn't even have cut off power to the glassing beam. Covenant ships can abandon entire chunks of their structure and still function. All the power and most important bits are in the back of the ship anyways.
You never really see sentinels being made.... so if they are supposed to be an eternal defense system it makes no fuckin sense for them to be dive bombing.. I'll give you it's cinematic having them dive a ship in half.... but that only makes sense if they are I destructible to the dmg they are self inflicting.... I feel like these guys watched star trek beyond and went cool let's make it dumber. TL;DR. I wanted them to use their cutting beams to disassemble a ship that size in 60 seconds
We might not see them being made specifically but this battle takes place over the ark. There are most likely automated systems in place to make new Sentinels. Not only that, their weapons were probably not capable of destroying the ship fast enough to prevent significant damage to the ark. In the end, it does make sense for them to saw the ship in half pending those two statements are true. In the end, it's a video game based on completely unrealistic circumstances set 500 years in the future so I don't think being 'unrealistic' is much of an issue. Tbh, Halo is made to be more cool than reasonable anyway lol. ie the opening cutscene to Halo 3 where the Chief falls from literal space onto the surface of Earth and survives.
why does he have to "bring the AI back"? if she "fits" in a device that is similar to a portable usb storage device, then surely she can be copied and pasted? and at most there would be some memory loss? also does that small device have the tools to record the environment for her to be able to "see/feel" when the dude freejumps from the ship? or is she wirelessly connecting to his suit for the data? how it functions does not make sense with the "restraints" they present >_>
@@JCarey1988 so what you are saying she can only be stored on that? since that is my issue. surely if they can store her on that small device. they should be able to have a cheaper bigger device on the ship to store her in. or is there some "rule" that says she can only be stored on that small portable device?
