I absolutely hate how the module basically says that no matter what you lose most the gold. I know if I ran this for my players not a single one of them would team up with any of the factions. They would find a separate sourse of income for chapter 2, probably from some random NPC selling some treasure map or something. One of my players would word every sentence he says during the entire game in such a way that no one would find out that they were looking for the treasure, and all enemies/loose ends would be dealt with permanently. By the time they end the game the only way that they would be found out is if one of the party squiled, and none of them would.
One of my players killed a Drow woman, got caught, and had to pay out of pocket to have Vincent frame someone else. So, he had to cut his own hand off to get in, because he had to give up hers to falsify evidence. Hehe.
Not to nitpick, but a portable hole is six feet across, teen feet deep, and has no weight limit. Even if each gold coin is the size of a half-dollar, half a million coins won't fill a ten foot hole...so there's one way to get it all in one go.
The table is pointless and slows down the game. Just let them in the vault, no need to delay especially when the book provides no assistance planning the adventurers or level up between chapters
