Damn straight. Halo: Reach was the last great Halo game from the people who created Halo. 343i did OK with Halo 4, but since then they've dragged Halo's name through the mud. A damn shame.

Too bad the controls in Halo 5 Forge are whack and don’t have a different control option for it. I mean, seriously, who changes the Forge controls after it’s been the same for 8 years now? Now, Tidus, I know you wouldn’t be laughing at that.
But I hope they bring back the original Forge controls for Halo Infinite.

When looking back at Reach and how Bungie just kept pushing Halo into new, bigger and better stuff, I feel sad to see that 343 just keep removing and restricting stuff. Remember Reach.

5:06 and 5:12 are great examples of ideal game developer mentality. Making a tool that allows players to pursue their own ideas. Being humble; accepting and expecting that the player can be more creative, have more ideas than the developer. And the fact that they wanted to turn the tricks of halo 3 forge into tools in halo reach. Now you have developers that try to get more and more restrictive of the players capabilities, but don’t even try to supplement that loss with a better storyline or worldspace. That’s why I think battle royales are such a great addition to the gaming industry despite the hate they get, they’re calling on the idea of making a more vague battlefield that allows for freedom for the player. Although it may be annoying for the market to be milking them, they’re a new frontier, just as forge was for the gaming industry. I just hope battle royales and forge modes are more developed in the future.

This was halo's prime. The armor customization, the campaign, Forge World... I just hope Halo Infinite will be as exciting, because we know damn well Halo 4 & 5 was not.
Unfortunately...that along with co-op are not gonna be on Infinite day one :(

I've played this game since it came out, I would just like to thank Bungie for making this game as good as it is. I wouldn't do anything to change it. In fact I still play the game a lot with friends who have the same idea as me.

Not even Bloom, add civi vehicles and hornet variants in forge, (w/mods) weather variants for forge world.
Still one of the best halo games though.

Actually, Forge mode on Halo 4 gave us block magnetism and block/piece cloning. That's an improvement.

Halo MCC was just announced for PC, and it's including Reach!
Man, I remember looking at this, back when I was 9, and couldn't believe what I was seeing. Things are so different now. Back then, there was so much being added in games. Compared to today, where adding jetpacks is a ''Revolutionary feature'' (Call of duty). In Halo Reach, jetpacks were just a tendril of the game's content.
God, I wish games would be this god nowadays.

Say what you will about Destiny. But Bungie is one of those rare companies where if they see an exploit being used in their game, Bungie will never ban you for doing it. Because they know its their responsibly to not have them in, not yours to not use them. The Managerie was a great example. You could open the final chest over 10 times after 1 completion (You were supposed to only open it once per run.) But after the exploit was found Bungie left it like that for the remaining time in the season. Even joking about it on Twitter. A very rare sight. EA banned loads of people in Anthem for finding exploits to farm loot easier, shows the difference.
Because the gaming communities now a days are literal pieces if shit. Whiny self entitled idiots.

We were in the middle of making a forge map on halo: 3 that day playing sandbox.
Bungie I will always miss you and the team that brought halo to life.

Halo 5 has the objectively best forge I've seen but halo reach was so intuitive that even I could build anything
That was the point, Forge was incredible and could build almost anything, but it was also simple enough to let anyone make whatever they wanted and even *have fun* with friends while they're doing it. I don't care how advanced Infinite's Forge might be, it's still going to just be a glorified dev tool and not allow people to dick around in it and have fun with it. There was one piece of concept art for Reach's Forge, and it showed the players having fun and killing each other, while some Monitors floated vehicles and geometry around them. Infinite's Forge won't be anything like that because it'll be a glorified GECK/Creation Kit at the end of the day. Which I think is awesome, that anyone could make just about anything with no restrictions, but it's a dev tool now, not a game mode where people can just have fun. Which seems perfect for 343 since they barely ever understood the concept of having fun

@@c4l685 Reach and the MCC (together) are coming to Steam. The first Reach beta test on Xbox One is supposed to happen in a few weeks and the PC flight shortly after that flight starts. The PC flight might even happen during the second Xbox One flight. We don't really know when they'll be for sure.

Halo Reach is coming MCC, AND MCC in its new entirety is coming to PC. What a time to be alive.
I remember loading up forge world for the first time after playing the rather limited space of halo 3 for a while and I didn’t know what forge world was and I remember loading in and being completely amazing about the sheer size and beauty of the map. I have so many great memories of messing around on this map with friends
This is gonna be so damn cool on pc. I’m so ready. This was already the most hype thing all those years ago.

Forge World alone got me hyped for Halo Reach. I was that kid who spent hours in Halo 3 trying to place things just right.
They should’ve spent way more on this. One of the best game,maps,campaign, and fans. Makes me depressed that it died

reach was something special, not my favourite game but a close 2nd, i came into the halo franchise the year halo 3 come out and i only could play at my mates house cause i didnt have an xbox, i bought the first 2 on pc but i rly wanted to play 3, finally got it in 2010 along wars and odst, then halo reach was annoucned and i pre ordered it, all the memories rly has stuck with me the last few years of me and my buddies messing around, with forge and custom games especially, it rly was an amazing game.

halo reach's forge world is still being used to this day
They really had no idea how big forge world was, not just from a land area perspective, but from a game building one as well. When reach came to mcc, 6.2 MILLION maps were exported. Entire youtube channels created showing off maps, how to make maps, people playing those maps. When you got bored in matchmaking, campaign, or firefight, you could go make your own gamemode in forge. Speed Halo, Fat Kid, Jenga, Toilet, Avalanche, Trench Warfare, Crash Up Durby, Chess, Races, Battleship. Not to mention the clan community and the MLG maps. 11 years worth of things to do.
I was 13 when this video came out. I remember watching this every day directly on my Xbox (really miss that NXE dashboard) and being really hyped about what Halo Reach had in store for us. Trying to take everything in the video in and discussing it with my online friends who lived on the opposite side of the planet to me.
Here I am 13 years later and this video has popped up in my recommended videos. I'm back reminiscing on the memories made. The campaign, the multiplayer, the sixteen player custom games matches, it was all just perfect.

The Golden Age for Gaming died when Halo Reach reached the end of it's life cycle.
Nothing can compare to the insane amount of Player freedom that Reach gave us.

I remember my first time playing this, me being young I didn't watch any of the trailers, so I thought the entire world was just in the starting room, my neighbors (who I unfortunately haven't talked to in years) managed to show me that there was an entire world out there to explore and it blew my mind

Bungie understood the importance of community/social features. Theres a reason Reach retained its population for so long.

if only 343 watched this video and realized how much forge and file share itself means to all of us. Halo 5 alows us to build cool maps but the controls and forge UI is trash and there isn't a file share. They say there going to be adding it but thats something that should've been in at launch. 343 is really not listening to the fans. lets face it Bungie didn't let microsoft push them around. I believe that is why the bungie halos are so much better (although pretty sure Bungie is now being pushed around by Activision).

God I miss Reach. After 343 Industries came on board, Halo became such trash. They just HAD to screw up the perfectly made maps and game modes of Reach, didn't they? Thank god they couldn't mess with anything in Halo 3. At least that was untouched. Thank you Bungie, for making the perfect games. We will never forget.
