@@whoischris28 You've never driven one. The rumble is always there, due to the nature of the boxer engine and firing order. It's just way more noticeable because the STI uses UEL headers. If you put the Tomei UEL headers on the FA20 Engine it sounds just like the STI, you lose the benefits of the twin scroll turbo though because UEL is inefficient.
@@whoischris28 Yes, yes it does. The rumble is because of the boxer engine, the engine is flat and the pistons go out sideways, this is what creates the unique sound. You can put UEL headers on a Honda it's not gonna have a rumble. But if you put UEL headers on a WRX it rumbles. It's not hard to comprehend man
Yeah I love my WRX to death but it's got a clunky clutch / transmission for sure. I also drive a miata and the difference is night and day, clutch + trans in the miata is fucking fantastic.

Cali WRX I have a lot of different in car positions but in this video it's mounted upside-down on the dome light of the car with one of go pro's little stick on mounting points. Cheers! I've seen your chanel before.
Its just a cheap little stereo mic off of Amazon and I tape it to my license plate frame. If you watch some of my other videos, sometimes I tape another one to my shock tower to get all the turbo noise too. make sure to buy a little wind sock or foam adapter to reduce wind noise though.

I used one of GoPro's flat stick on mounts on the the dome light of the car and mounted the camera upside down from it. There is a setting on GoPros to reverse the footage for filming upside down. 😎🤙
I have basically the same setup without charge pipe and TMIC and i get about 20mpg average with city driving but i tend to be a little heavy footed lol

I'm looking to buy your exact car. either the 2018 with performance pack( I don't want a sun roof) or a 2017 if it's a better deal at the time. Wondering if any mod you did, helped reduce understeer a lot? I figured I would start with a rear sway bar and some negative camber.
shane mcnally Rear sway and end links is pretty much the biggest thing you can do to reduce it (don't get a front sway) without spending a lot more money. Good racing coilovers made a huge difference helping the car to rotate instead of understeer too, but that's quite a lot more money to spend.

Claud K It really depends on how loud you want to go. The Grimmspeed, Invidia Q300 and Cobb all come to mind. It all depends on how loud you want it to be.
That is the oil I was leaning towards... seems to be the safest bet. Do you have a stock fuel pump? My local tuner is recommending I install a walbro 255 before the protune. I do not see many people doing that mod before they are tuned, so I'm kind of skeptical whether I will need it or not. It seems straightforward to install but I cannot say I would be excited to get into the fuel tank like that. Do you have any issues if you are running the stock pump. Thanks for any info.
Brooks Vaile I do have the stock pump. it was good for 317 whp in my car but we were pretty much at its limit at those numbers. It's a pretty easy mod, depending on how much power you're trying to make it couldn't hurt.

Brooks Vaile It's completely normal for some of the lines to get a negative vacuum pressure in them after you turn the car off, there's no reason to worry about that, while it's on and running all the lines will flow just like they should.
Landonian Odominous No egr deletes, if it's not on the parts list info the description I didn't have it. it was a custom stage 2+ tune done at Fine Line imports in Santa Rosa Ca.
Anything special with your harness? I am at the point where I need more support during hard turns but I cant sacrifice any functionality of the back since my daughter rides back there with a car seat.
There's no way to install a harness without effecting the rear seating area. Just get a better seat, that's 90% of the support right there. The harness is mostly to hold you in place under massive braking loads.
are u running the stock calipers with upgrade rotors, stainless steel lines, pads and fluid? or are u running Brembo/Stop-tech/Ap racing calipers? i find that the stock brakes are pretty mushy mushy and heel toe is pretty much brake checking sometimes.
looopandlooop I'm using stock calipers, but I upgraded pads, rotors, lines, and fluid. I swapped out my gas pedal and it makes H&T easier. I have a Stoptech Trophy BBK kit with Pagid pads in the mail as we speak though so it's about to get even better
Paul Brumm no wonder ur H/T down so fast, the extra leverage by making the accelerator more level is significant in my opinion. also, did the tune get rid of the delayed throttle sensitivity? in stock config, when i did heel toe i have to push down harder on the accelerator sometimes to blip or else i dont get a blip or high enough rpm to match.
hey man I know you probably won't read this but i'd seriously suggest not using the harness unless it's properly setup with a roll cage (not just a harness bar or bolted to the rear seats). If you end up looking into it theres many cases of people becoming paraplegic or breaking both sides of the collar bone and so on, nice car though!
mat werry First of all thank you for the very good advice. I took a lot of time fitting my seat, making sure the harness holes were above my shoulders and that the angle of the harness won't put any downward pressure onto my shoulders in an accident. I set it up with wine country motor sports, the shop that is at Sonoma Raceway, and a local shop that specifically builds and maintains track cars. Both of them brought that up and both of them were satisfied with the results. cheers!

I didn't keep my AP on my dash to super closely monitor the cars vitals but I never had any noticeable issues on the street or track.
