    I think you may have been a victim of target fixation. If you look at where you don't want to go, in this case the ditch, that's where you'll end up. You need to look where you want to go. Better luck next time.

      @@TheExistentialVeganshe was fixated on day dreaming and rode off the road. Luckily the bike got tangled in the wire and not her. Hope she’s back on the bike showing the road who’s in charge.

      There was some target fixation occurring however I noticed earlier in the video the CT rider is riding very upright with tense back plus looking down at the path in front of her wheel. I recommend a more relaxed spine/back, looser grip on the bars, and focus on keeping the nose and eyes UP and pointed where you want to go, the bike will naturally follow your nose. Sounds silly, but true.

    On dirt trail with hump in the middle, don't let front wheel cross over center hump. It'll dump you hard.

    I grew up riding dirt bikes in the mountains and have had my fair share of spills. The toughest part is getting past the mental part of it all. Any conditions that look remotely similar to where you've previously crashed will cause you to doubt yourself, and indecision or being hesitant to act will only make it all worse. I don't know how to tell other people how to overcome this, but for me I always tried to understand what happened, what caused it and what i could have done differently and then just a ton of will power to overcome my fear. By the way I haven't always been successful in this approach, but it's the best I've got for you. Keep on Keeping on. Great Video.

    I don't believe that is target fixation, looks to me like not having the confidence to get sharper steer around that heavily gravelled corner, then finding herself slowly getting pushed over towards the ruts and not being able to get back in the middle because of the camber and gravel, then when there was no pulling it back, she tried to put her foot down whilst going too fast to do that, then the foot stutters twice, the bike leans and steers into fence. No stopping it now..
    i suppose looking at lean angle, target fixation may have caused some of the proceeding events..

    Riding too long for a new rider. Fatigue

    • @EverythingOutdoorswithTito
      @EverythingOutdoorswithTito  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cydney did say she was getting really tired afterwards and should have pulled over and walked around. Also my fault for not riding the bike on gravel first. If I had known how bad the tires really were on the gravel I would have not let her go until I changed them to something more suited. (Which I did after) for 34 miles she did good but in the end being fatigued and a dually rut led to the wreck. She’s back on the bike and practicing with better suited tires.
      Hopefully she will be back on the mountain roads soon but for now it’s practice practice on the basics on a safer surface
      Thanks for watching and commenting
      Cheers.
