    You did good waiting on the upgraded version. I waited 8 months when the first ones came out. I'd prefer your color AND a stand alone oil filter any day. I live in flat Florida. My max speed is 53mph... and thats with a DIDX oring drive chain (got sick of all the slack adjustments on the non-oring).

    • @baldrider
      @baldrider  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't know what size is correct I used the c-spanner that came with my Ural and just sort of made it work. It wasn't elegant. If I ever thought I would adjust them again, I'd just buy a cheap set of them. Next step would be replacing with YSS or Ohlins, though.

    Thanks ! Did 50mph on my 1968 CT90 yesterday, yes I was tucked in . Have done 65 mph however it was downhill and with a 40 tooth rear sprocket . Stock is 45 tooth . I'm disappointed the 125 can't do highway speeds . 125 CC should be plenty enough to go 60+ . The early '70s Honda CL100 could do highway speeds with a loaded luggage rack . It's the first year CT110 all over again , larger CC , no low range , and still has no place on a highway or steep trails . If you can tell I'm disappointed however not surprised . The tradition of under powering the trail bike continues. I'm glad you are enjoying yours , they are so easy and fun to ride around .

    Thanks for sharing. I would pay what you did all day. in February i went 5 local Honda dealers and 4 were MSRP plus $2500-3000 ADM before taxes etc. One was 7600 including ADM before taxes etc. You wonder why i don;t have one yet? I get the Corona Virus Tax blah blah but i am not paying more than 25% ADM. I'll walk first or just ride my TW200 more often.

      There are reports of dealers in the Midwest and further East selling them without ADM or other fees right now but nobody could tell me if all US bikes are 50-state bikes (CARB compliant) and didn't want to risk not being able to register one in California. I still can't believe that there aren't a ton of these on the used market after people impulse-bought them and got tired of 9hp. I didn't want to wait any longer. At least SoCal Honda Powersports made it relatively painless

      Its a peculiar bike. I got the yellow 2024. To me its a well rounded bike people say 5-6k for a 125 is too much and yeah i can see that because a 15 year old accorf you get for the same price and it can go cross country with ac and heat but in terms of motorcycling its actually uncommon to have front wheel abs and a skid plate and center stand from the factory. Not many bikes in the world are led all around. Kickstarter isnt on most bikes anymire either. Mostly useless but i mean you csnt dump the clutch pushstarting it if the battery dies because its not got a manual hand clutch so i can see how the kickstart can matter when the battery dies. Luggage rack, snorkle air intake, high lift exhaust for the trail. Big tires unlike the grom monkey or dax or many other scooters. Underseat fuel tank is kinda unique people dont like jt gave to get off the bime to fuel up but i do t mind because it makes for a more peculiar bike and hinda engineered it well so for example the fuel filler cap has a tray running around it that can contain your spilled gas from running all down your paint. Metal front fender i think grom got plastic. A lot of bikes got plastic. Drz400 dr650 have plastic fenders. Its got this weird frame design so getting off the bike is easier but its not like a burgman or a vespa its still a motorcycle basically.

      Its a 5k bike. 4099 at the factory but you load them on the boat for 300 each by the time they get here. The dealer has a fee for existing as middle man and a setup fee. Plus you owe sales tax on the 4099. So its up there at luke 5k. A lot for a 125 but you gotta remember its not assembled in china. Motor made in japan and shipped to thailand for assembly so theres costs associated with these aspects its not 5k for no reason you got a lot of features a lot of motorcycles dont have unless you go aftermarket. Itll gave good resale value ill own my 2024 for 5 years sell it in late 2028 for 3500 so you only lose like 1500 on it in 4 or 5 years ownership in terms of its actual cash value. Per day loss is very low

    • @TheAnnoyingBoss

      Supercub worth less than trail 125. Plus yours is going on 6 years old here soon so i kean it does show how little money you lose on these mini motos compared to corolla civic camry accord f150 for example. Own a trail 125 for 5 years sell it for 3500 cash you only pay 5000 thats a loss of 1500. A camry you lose that much just driving it off the dealer lot. In 5 years that 22k corolla you paid 25k for before sales tax oil and gas its worth 19,999 you lost more than a trail 125 is worth on it total. Like you point out got your cub used i bet youll own it for like 5 years sell it for like 2500 cash youll lose about half of what the first owner lost as well. Little to lose on these honda 125s. I quite enjoy how I pump 1 gallon of gas and its over 100 miles of range or about 100 depending on which roads im taking.
