    You do point out a few good tips although not part of the video... always download directly from the developer's site and I always do custom installs so I can choose to NOT install things like Norton or McAfee or other things that may come "packaged" with some programs. Just a good practice to get into. And also make a copy of the installer executable before you run it as some (like Adobe Acrobat) self-delete after you install them, so it's a good idea to make a backup copy of installation files anyway. Same for drivers... either go to the board or peripheral manufacturer's site or the chipset maker's site (AMD, Nvidia or Intel) if you have to to get "generic" drivers from a trusted source.

    If you're really lazy and don't want to install anything, but just want to know what FPS you're running. Windows game bar has the basics at least. As in FPS, GPU and CPU usage, temp etc. Just move the performance window to where you want it, adjust the transparency, pin it and that's it. It's low effort, but it works in a pinch.

  • @jamyjet
    @jamyjet วันที่ผ่านมา

    I'd highly recommend using every core on a CPU for the overlay, some games just aren't optimised to utilise more than 8 cores or only utilise a few and bottleneck the game as a result, so this is a pretty important metric to check in my experience. Just checking the overall temp and usage doesn't show you a particularly reliable picture for how the CPU is actually being utilised.

    You can also press Windows + G to bring up the xbox bar that also has FPS stats etc but its basic it only shows fps and component usage , not temps. but it can also be pinned to monitor while playing

    For hardware like temps, I just monitor them with hardwareinfo. If the maximum is higher than I like, I figure something out.

    Great video, I hadn't used MSI Afterburner so maybe I'll give it a go. I have also noticed Nividia Geforce game overlay being buggy lately , I thought it was just me.

    Nice walkthru. Probably the best I've seen and I've only been curious enough to try this a few times. Kudos! Now, please walk me through the perfect poached egg. That would be epic! (PS: Get a haircut ya hippie)

    8:12 can't you just rename it's group name and integrate any sensor reading into the already existing Afterburner layout (or a completely custom one of you wanted?)

    Funny, I always wondered about MSI Afterburner but I'm not a gamer so it wasn't a priority. Norton? Yuck! My only remaining question is can Dawid rant about free software like he does hardware? Good video!

    You can play online with the third party software in CS2. It's not like the untrusted command that launch the game without anti cheat.

    If you are running Windows, and only need to monitor the bare minimum of your computer’s performance, there is a built-in monitor software: if memory serves me correctly, you only need to press Win key + g (simultaneously) to access it

    My concern with Afterburner has always been the RIVA server. It was/is from a russian dev I think.
    Alt R is the shortcut to launch Adrenalin, so it may have been that it was conflicted when you tried to use it for the Nvidia.
