For me the Fd2 has been the best type R ever made, without counting the NSX R
I agree with your statement a full 100%👌. Outside of the nsx type r. The fd2 civic type r is the best chassis to have had the type r badge placed on it. The fk8 is good for what it is. But the fd2-r, is just perfection. They captured the sweet spot with this one and it picked up where the DC2-r Integra left off in terms or the sensation and handling. But much better.
As crazy as it sounds I'd choose the 99-00 EK9🤩 over all of them

Yeah bro fk8 Type R isn’t so bad!.. pretty decent Car! Iykyk… Every typeR to this day that they came out with is decent as heck.. great cars, euro R, Dc2, Ek9, Fn2,Fd2,Dc5,Ep3 every TypeR they came out with always was some nice freakin cars imo… these japs are mad nice with these TypeR’s only when they go full on hybrid electric or no more Vtec, or no more Champ white colors, no more recaros, electronic e brake instead lf handle e brake, no more TypeR style is when they will be wack in my opinion….

My favorite Civic of all time. Even the SI model. I just love the shape and the overall build of the car, from the mechanics, engineering and design.

We had a base fd auto daily driver and i could feel the platform is really good and easy to work on and I'd imagine if it was the legit type R the feeling would be perfect.

The 8th gen interior of the type r is identical to the Si in america except the seat colors and tach color, i freakin love it

Was this car drive by wire or cable throttle, I’m from the US I own a civic Si would like to install ITb but due to drive by wire not possible they say

I drive a turbo 7gen that has a k20 turbo and the engine is a stock k20a and it not the type r version and it is on 8 lb. Boost and trust me that thing moves

Damn this video shows up on my recommended when im just about to drop 10k (plus my daily swift sport) on a fd2r here in NZ but still cant decide if its worth going back 10yrs and up about 80k kms for a better driving experience.
I used to own a dc5r about 2yrs ago and always wanted an fd2r but its so damn expensive! Fml idk what to do

I've sold my fd2r recently and I missed it so much.
It's a driver car,and its cheap to maintain it.
Basically,it never breaks down.

Wait, K20/24 hybrid build with ITB and only 190kw? People get that with no ITB and 93octane... why so low?

you must invest the extra cost for build up internal parts to break the 250-300hp..
dyno readings always seem higher in America
@@thatpersiandude7386 I was speaking in perspective of mustang dyno which reads lower than many. Fuel, elevation, temperature and humidity... Many more variables to create a difference in dyno # BUT 190kw just seem low for an itb and almost full setup. Maybe we can blame tuner wahaha.

To be honest, I can’t hear what you said. You need to get a better mic or camera.
Another conversion.... Not even a genuine R. The reason the FK8R is so special is because you can't simply bolt on parts to an FK7. The FK8 chassis receives special reinforcement from the factory.
This car has had the full Type R conversion and so much more. The standard FD2R pales in comparison to this example in the video lol. The owner has spent tens of thousands dollars on this car to be the ultimate Type R - If you watch the video in full you will see a glimpse into the extent of this fastidious, well built example.
The FK8 is unique in its own right and a very good car at that but I highlight my reasoning as to why I would personally take this example over that car.
It's super fake. Genuine FD2 have adhesive bonded chassis. A conversion will never be as good as an original no matter how much money you throw at it.

Good is 100 percent subjective.
With aftermarket parts I can make a civic far stiffer, faster, brake better and handle far better than anything that came from the factory.
You might be one of these action figure collectors who, if the package has a ding or even slight discoloration, its such an abomination that it gives you fucking PTSD and you have to spend a month in solitary, however, most normal people would rather have very simply put *a better performing Civic* plus the fact that the type R is more expensive to purchase because of perceived market value created entirely by us. This is why when desire is absent or world circumstances change MSRP’s and private seller asking values also change.
Cost often has very little to do with the product being objectively good or better than others.
If you are going to full send build it makes more sense financially to buy a regular civic, than spend money on a Type R then to dismantle it.
This car will objectively outperform any regular type R. *Absolute fact*.
Enjoy your brand and trim level whoring while trailing at the back of the pack.

Nope, the JDM Honda Accord Euro R (CL7) is a different chassis altogether, with other countries like Australia getting the Accord Euro (CL9) non Type R (top spec being either the Sport or Luxury) or the Acura TSX (CL9) in the United States
