Might not be the fastest car on the straight but when it comes to corners its a whole new level. Still a fun, reliable car at the end of the day.
100% man.. the 0-100 shows its not all that impressive but when you see that this car beat a R34 GTR around the Tsukabar circuit by over 4 seconds.. it speaks volumes about how well this car HANDLES!

Great choice of review Ross. Before my FG xr6 turbo I had an EP3 type r. Fantasic engineering goes into these cars.. The MUGEN version is of a piece of brilliance aswell. Tho turning circles are crap, parts can be hard and expensive to get in Aus (e.g $2k for a A/C compressor) and 4 seats not 5. However great fun and great JDM classic and history

I love this! I actually own a FD2 Civic VTi-L. The actual design of the Australian-spec Civic at the time was derived from the Canadian Acura CSX.

Nice change of pace for the channel, always liked the na type R's. If you are interested in reviewing something similar I have a Clio 182 cup you can flog on some back roads.

Now thats some pure unicorn power goodness right here. I love me a light weight over powered FWD i reckon every petrol head should have at least 1 lane changing fwd in their life time. Can i maybe recommend getting some macas trays for ya next FWD review and showing the world how fun a FWD can be

Hey Ross - I'd appreciate your opinion on this. I know you are a fan of the Barra engine. Well, I have a FG xr6t that I've had for quite a few years now, I've had it lightly tuned to about 280rwkw and it goes bloody good. Anyway, I have been toying with the idea of selling it and getting a FD2R, Ive had hondas in the past and like the lightweight chuckability of them and of course, the screaming vtec. I've never driven one of these though. Apples and oranges I know but what do you reckon? Go for it or keep the Falcon?
Totally depends on what you want.. the type r is an amazing machine loads of engineering.. I really enjoyed it but it’s more of a hardcore car.. falcon way more comfortable but on track these Honda’s go hard!
Actually no it wasn’t exclusively sold in Japan. It was also officially sold in Malaysia thru our Honda dealers.
I did mention this in the review but cut it out as was getting to long 😅 but your right Malaysia was lucky to get a few of these cars from the factory

Ross Reviews come on man your killing us. Where is the GTF review? 😂 lol. By the way I got that slight clunk issue after my diff bushes where done in my f6. I think it’s the tail shaft because it always stuffs up the balance when they disconnect from the diff. Hopefully in the next month or two I will get it looked at and let you know if I find out seeing as you had it with your bf.
its coming next! got a F6 0-100 video and the GTF review lined up hopefully for next week :) also i think my diff has kick back witch is causing the thud still... diff rebuild in order

If you want one of these for a track car then I get it. If the roads in your area are not 100% perfect, this is the most fatiguing car you will ever drive. The roads in the UK are notoriously bad and 10 minutes in this is too much.
you are not wrong! its a very stiff ride.. amazing car if you can live with that tho

yeh im not a big fan of the looks on this car but the driving experience was very impressive.. crazy handling from a FWD car.. easily the best fwd car i've reviewed.. close 2nd would be the Focus RS mk2

A bloke tried to race my falcon turbo ute from an inside lane off the traffic lights in one of these naturally he lost. He may have got scared when the falcon started lighting the tyres up when he was next to me at around 80ks and rising fast. Bang for buck go the falcon turbo.
haha oh man yeh this car is not quick in a straight line.. barra all day.. in the twisties tho this thing would win.. seriously impressive handling.. i was shocked

I know nothing about Honda’s! Just saw the one you’re talking about and there’s one that’s 2009 and less ks but is only $15k ish! Why so different ?
