It's fun to watch a hawk and trowel man , being one my self for 45 years. Through the years on the job i would do small repairs on the side for the elderly . After i was done i would give them a written invoice. I made it look like it was going to cost a small fortune . But when they saw what i put down for the final cost they would have a look on their face that to me was priceless. Total..... 1 glass of lemon aid. Glad to see someone else doing nobel gestures for others in this day and age. I retired 3 years ago but the reactions will remain in my memory till the day i die. Good men have heart... Way to go man.

Nice one. My parents had a few loose roof tiles and I got a roofer to go round and replace the two or three broken ones. He ended up doing quite a bit more, spent around 4 hours there and he didn't charge my parents a penny. They were chuffed to bits and now will only recommend him to others and have a big job for him coming up. I just wanted to let you know that the appreciation of things like this spread further than you think.

Top man, there aren’t enough skilled conscientious men like you around, we have just bought a bungalow as part of our retirement plan,and we struggled to find trades to even quote for work,eventually we found a good plasterer,electrician,keep up the good work.

I was a time served, city and guilds fully qualified painter and decorator for 35 years, following fellows like you, made my job so much quicker and easier, yes I could hide a mulitude of sins and luckly I helped a plasterer now and again, (im not a plasterer) but I was able to patch bits up if needed, some people just do not have pride in their work, at the end of a job I would stand back and carefully inspect everything, and if I would be happy to live in that room, it was upto top notch standard. Pride in your works means everything. Your a champion ;)

It's nice to see others looking out for strangers. I'm an immigrant and a Muslim but I don't care if you're Christian, atheist, black or even a Manchester United fan. I love to help and make people's lives easier if I can. We need to look after everyone in our communities but especially the vulnerable like this old lady.

First job I ever had (1986) was working as a labourer for a plasterer, 12 hour days for £10 a day! I ended up joining the RAF, which is another story, but still remember it fondly. My boss then was a top bloke like you clearly are. Anyway thought I'd donote my daily rate then (adjusted for inflation and rounded up) so you can keep on doing little things like this for people, although to some I guess it's a big thing. Good work. I'm a painter decorator myself,not so much decorating as have had bad experiences with customers wanting wallpaper ripped off as don't like halfway through then expect it done for free😮 but I'd be well happy with the flow of tea and biscuits as a painter 😂😊😊

I'm no expert myself but an ex ground worker/ excavator op and pretty handy at a few things so i try to help people as much as i possibly can. i work offshore nowadays so do have a bit of free time to help friends and family, especially the older folk like this old lady. one day i hope someone does the same for you mate. YEAHHH what a gent you are, total respect, I subbed straight away when I saw the invoice mate. Ten ish years ago I was doing general fixing in folks homes here in Canada, I did not ever get to be able to do freebies, but I gave great discounts compared to other guys in my area, I loved it, I am a brit, so maybe I should come home and do similar lol. In UK I enjoyed doing flat roofing, that was a good crack, but I expect the safety regs have gone mad now.😁

When I was in the trades down London we always tried to save the OAP’s from paying for silly little jobs , gotta help the aged TOP BLOKE we tradesmen can do more to help our communities more ✊👍
