    I just came from Istanbul. If you don't want to take the metro from Taksim to Sultanahmet, about an hour walk will be fine! Plus you can take great pictures of fishermen catching fishes by the bridge. You can even walk about Fatih where the Sulemaniye Cami (mosque) is. You can also find other camis on your way. Much better to walk then take metro if you are coming for more than 5 days. You can also take the ferries that stop on different stations and pay less as opposed to taking the Bosphorous touristy tours (to each their own, and you can also experience the cruise). But if you want budget-friendly, this is it! From Sultanahmet to Sariyer, cost me about 7 tl!

      This is quite helpful as I'm going to visit Istanbul soon. Could I ask if they charge you service fee or tax at any food places/restaurants? When your final bill was given to you was it more than your food items put together? Thanks

    Istiklal Caddesi has three picturesque churches: Hagia Trias (Holy Trinity) Greek Orthodox (just off Taksim), St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic (mentioned here), and St. Mary Draperis (Roman Catholic) with its decorated ceiling.
    One beautiful mosque is Pertevniyal Valide Sultan in Aksaray (on T1 route).

    Does anyone who's been to istanbul recently know if tourists/customers have to pay service fee and tax in any of the eating places? Whether its a restaurant or small food stand? I saw on many Google reviews that the final bill price is always much higher than what the menu shows on the food items 😳 just trying to prepare myself for when I'm travelling to istanbul which is soon.

    • @BeryIstanbulTips
      @BeryIstanbulTips  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, tax for food in Turkiye is %1 or %8 depending on the food. All the restaurants should have taxes included in their prices shown in the menu. Sometimes %10 to %20 fee can be charged as a service fee. I recommend you to check google reviews before going to a restaurant or watch our food videos 🙂

    • @ramisa653
      @ramisa653 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Bery Istanbul Tips thank you so much. I will definitely watch your videos again to refresh my memory! Can customers have the 10-20% service fee taken off the bill? Is it obligatory to pay? Thanks 😊
