Great video, Bery! I followed almost this exact itinerary from the guides I bought from you and I must say that it was spot on, I stayed in Sultanahmet and every place was so easy to reach from there, I used those lines of metro and tram you mentioned here and took me everywhere in no time, so simple to reach and covered 98% of these places, I just changed 2 places for others I really wanted to visit instead, but other than that, this is the best itinerary out there covering the major attractions and even the Asian side. I always wake up very early when I travel because I like to cover as much as I can and let me tell you that I was able to do everything shown here plus a little more at night without a problem or running around, I visited in summer when the days are longer so it was a huge advantage, but even in winter I see it doable. Thank you for always bringing us the best and most accurate information.
What a video. Thank u so much for doing this. I have been in Istanbul once in my life in 2022, but i am so excited to come back and see so many new places. There is a magic in this city. My dream place is to visit Buyukada because one of my favourite turkish drama had been filmed there. I hope to visit it this summer.😍
I saw you with Jordan and had to come here and subscribe. I've never used a guide service, but for Istanbul I'd make an exception. It's so diverse and I wouldn't want to miss the best parts.
love your videos it helped me plan my vacation back in september 2023. and it was breathtaking. i dont know if i told you but i keep watching, great job and keep up the great work!!!!!
Great vid covering most of the major attractions. I would add one more which is Eyupsultan area and going on the teleferik to Pierre Lotti hill, amazing views from there.
I personally really enjoyed walking along the old Theodosian Walls at the end of the old city (Fatih) It's easy to get to with the metro and it gives a more authentic vibe vibe than the touristy sultan ahmed
@@BeryIstanbulTips I also bought your guide, 5 days in Istanbul. Wonderful tool for me to get the most of my trip coming in few days! Highly recommended 🥰

Turkey like many countries eg Japan etc should have one common transportation card , which could be used in all the cities of Turkiye because a card of one city cannot be used in another city and a tourist loses leftover money from the previous city card he/she has visited. I hope concerned authorities look into the matter. This could save a lot of time, money of the tourist and the hassles for obtaining a card of a new city...🌹☺️
Hello, thank you for all information. We are aged person and coming to Istambul on Oct this yr. Pls suggest me a reasonable hotel near SUltan Ahmet Sq for walkable distances. Thanks in advance.
Hello Bery ! What about sisli area to stay , i will travel at the 23th of February is it a good time and is sisli a good place to stay . I will stay for 8 days . 😊
You hit most of the main tourist areas! For people who have more time available I wish you'd show them how to take the 6 1/2 hour Bosphorus tour from Eminönu by Sehir Hatlari - they have both the daily tour, and a Saturday sunset tour (in Summer). I rode it from Eminönu to Anadolu Kavağı several times - and they make a few stops along the way if you want to explore. The view from the sunset tour is a very different experience. I see the price has doubled since I was there this summer (inflation is crazy in Istanbul), but it's still an inexpensive and amazing way to see the entire bosphorus strait. Thanks for the video!
I have plenty of videos on my channel showing also other activities or places to visit. You can still do plenty of things! January is great also especially when wanting to avoid crowds. You can visit Cappadocia, even Pamukkale and Ephesus, this year we visited Ephesus again in February and the weather was splendid and literally NO ONE in the archeological site, it was fantastic to see each corner without the crowds. Turkey is nice all year round tbh ☺️
Great video Bery! One important question! Where can I found the timetables of these attractions? I searched during weeks but each website says something completely different about the opening & closing hours(even Google Maps and the official sites). I need to know it to plan my itinerary. Thanks!
@@BeryIstanbulTips thanks for your useful answer😄. Then Berry, how bad the inflation nowadays in Turkiye, especially Istanbul. I'll spend about one week there, on this end of February. Worried if the food becomes super expensive.

Hi Bery ..I’m planning to be go to Istanbul second week of September..I have two questions..is it safe to stay in Airbnb or you recommend a hotel..? And I’m booking a tour with you and your husband, are you going to be in Istanbul in September?…Thanks
Both options are acceptable; some hotels include breakfast, so you can decide based on that. I'll be in Istanbul in September, but we've already made some tour bookings for that month. If your dates are confirmed, I recommend contacting Reminder tour as soon as possible, as I may not be available.
I am 76 and my wife is 74. We would love to visit Istanbul for 4-5 days but I wish we had a college student guide us for 3-6 hours a day. We would possibly go in October. Anyone in their 20, or 30's would work. Any possibilities? We would pay a decent daily wage.
Hi! Hopefully soon you can visit the city, I’m sure you’d love it 😍 But just to let you know. Anyone giving tours without being a licensed tour guide in 🇹🇷 is doing it illegally. There are people (auditors) in many touristy areas of the city and when they realize someone is touring a group without a license he/she can be taken by the police, get fined, and in case of being a foreigner can even get deported. Tour guiding is a profession which is very good protected by the Turkish authorities and also can only be performed by Turkish citizens. If you want a tour here, I suggest you hire an OFFICIAL tour guide, a private and personalized one would be the way to go since they adjust the hours and places according to your needs. Every day it can be a half day tour, for example, so you don’t get too tired. Here in Turkey is not like in many cities around Europe that you can easily find college students giving the “free walking tours”. In Turkey that is banned. Hope this helps!
Well, the little difference here is that is not controlled by the mafia is the Ministry of Tourism through its auditors keeping an eye on the touristy areas and making sure there aren’t people giving tours ILLEGALLY without a license😀 In fact, I support this measure to protect the official tour guides’ job ☺️. They go to college, study for this, go to seminars, they have to pass a foreign language exam, they must join tours throughout the whole country organized for them by the Ministry of Tourism after they graduate, each tour in each region of 🇹🇷 lasts for 1 week each (7 regions in total which means 7 weeks of tours) and once they finish all of that, then they get their license and they can finally give tours. I must also add that each tour guide must renew their license every year and have to pay a high fee just for that.

We cannot tell much difference now since is low season, once high season comes, then we will see if is busy or not.
