- A court in Phnom Penh has jailed dozens of Cambodian opposition figures. US-Cambodian lawyer Theary Seng and other government critics have been sentenced to years in prison on charges of treason and incitement. Before her sentence was passed on Tuesday, Seng stood outside the court, dressed as Lady Liberty in a light green gown and a crown with "Freedom" written on it. She was seen shouting "free the political prisoners."
We speak to Human Rights Watch on what's being described as the 'death of Cambodia's democracy'.

I'm Cambodian 🇰🇭. For those who don't know, Vietnam tried to invade Cambodia for centuries. During Norodom Sihanouk in power he married to a Vietnamese girl. For favor he allowed too many culture and Vietnamese illegally immigrants to Cambodia. Not enough, during Vietnamese war he allowed so many Vietnamese army come to Cambodia. During that time you don't want to know how many bomb USA drop in Cambodia from Vietnamese border almost reach Thailand border. Imagine how many Cambodian died and suffer. Then Lon Nol come in power he killed almost all the Vietnamese, their body were pile like mountain and more were floating in the river like fishes were shocked dead. Then come the Khmer rouge that rule by two power, Chinese and Vietnamese. "How could they come to power because news paper were drop from the air said Norodom Sihanouk will come back to power, call all people and soldiers that love him to serve as they were during he in power, but those who claims that they were in position or served end up secretly executed." Because the politics were too secret, too much corruption and missed trust that the opportunity for Vietnamese to revenge and kill people that have position in the government during Lon Nol republic but they not only killed those were had position, they end up killed all educated people because before they killed they forced give a name, so they just give the name of the people that they know they were in position or people they hated. You should also know why Vietnamese invade amy can push Khmer rouge down so quick. Sen just a rabbit that power by Vietnam, most who have high position in the government are Vietnamese until now. You can say Sen is just smart or because the resist from Cambodian people stronger and stronger push him to seek strong friendship with China for our own good. "China and Cambodia have a strong relationship and great business partner since ancient time.". This world is a made up thing, don't believe everything you see on the internet other way you should create your own world and live your own happiness. 🙏❤️Respect everyone, Fear no one.

I’m a Cambodian and near my 30s now. This such thing is really embarrassing. Actually, we now are doing better than what the world view us. We got our Covid Vaccine for the 5th time now, and our community has lifted up the locked down and everyone just working, living, and dealing with our life just as usual. A lot of people has come to understand that. Human rights, Most of us here are free to do anything here as long it’s not illegal nor abuse others, verbally or physically. Life is simple, and it works REGARDLESS of the politics.
Totally political have nothing to do with human rights.
But to some people, they use this HR problem to do politics like it’s an opportunity.
We need to get rid of corruption. We are one of the most corrupted countries in the world. Get rid of corruption and Cambodia will have a bright future.
