Cambodian autocratic leader to hand power to eldest son in predetermined election

  • After 38 years in charge, Cambodian leader Hun Sen transfers power to his son, Hun Manet, in a pre-ordained "election" - or you might call it a selection - in what is essentially a one-party autocracy.
According to the ruling Cambodia People's Party, the son won in a landslide, against a largely absent opposition. DW's Georg Matthes reports from Phnom Penh.

I'd say not quite yet. Calling these sort of sham elections by the shortened name is definitly a thing, but an actual monarchy needs a bit more than that. I feel like north korea is a good guide for what an emerging monarchy from a dictatorship looks like. It needs to be institutionalized and established imo.

There were about 4 different factions of the Khmer rouge. Hun Sen was not involved in the part of the Khmer rouge who did the mass killing. Thank you so much for covering the news in Cambodia. It’s evident that there are numerous luxury cars in the capital, Phnom Penh. However, there are also many starving Cambodians in the countryside, including the areas between Phnom Penh and Kampot. Due to the global warming situation and the reduced rice production, there’s an increase in crime and drug-related issues, especially affecting children and the elderly. For instance, people are even stealing pets, which is heart-wrenching. Additionally, many Cambodians feel threatened when it comes to speaking out about their leaders.

Membership in the Cambodian government is not have been written or an obligation for a party member. Every Cambodian has the right to this if he or she has the quality and value of humanity and enjoys the trust of the majority of people in the country and also in international relations. This man deserves more recognition than anyone else and the so-called opposition parties who only have certificates but do not have much experience as a leader or responsibility for the 15 million people who are still suffering from the war of the last 40 years. It also needs to know the country's infrastructure well and have gut and better networks. From the Internet portal Lerning, would not be a good statesman and could not take responsibility for a country with over 15 million inhabitants. It's not meant to be a competition to compare degrees of foreigner univercities or have lived/studied in foreign countries, but they weren't integrated at all in the foreigner societies where they exiled, then they are also like million westerners world, who have to look for something else.

Representative democracy doesn't necessarily mandates a government from people, to people, and for people. Rather than directing forward a better policy change, there are loopholes like who can votes and who else can be voted, yet still no solid assurance or mutual control for these empty cheque not turning sour or candidate own interests. Not to mention the formation of coalition parties could further shifted the public discourse into bargaining powers between parties' interests. If we may observe hope, any political system reflects its people's pursuit of quality, if we may observe hope. In this case, "No Comment" or "I hope so" by the "elected candidate", we can almost declare the absurdity of this "so-what" moment a miracle among hopes. I don't believe such politician would works any harder than an investigative journalist. So I provide here my admonition and implementary intention towards a functioning participatory democracy system where people themselves could roll up their sleeves, put on their thinking caps, directly participate, investigate, debate, reflect, experience, negotiate, monitor, vote or change their minds on any legal referendum until a deadline. Build trust, not hope.

This article is about to show the interesting facts about Cambodia.
    Ankor wat
Facing to the west, because our ancestors built this monument for the future even, when the second sun comes ,the west will become to be the east , and a very even will happen in Cambodia. You know a richest country in the last day ,that your Bible says
An island in the east and the island in the west, where ?
It's Cambodia , not Philippines. Our ancestors still alive, they are preparing for a time comes, they do meditation and live in a deep inside of mountains. Sorry i forgot how English called it. (Kanal)
We are Khmer but the word khmer was written in complex style ,was read as khem mac rac not khmer. When Thai occupied Cambodia they read this word as khmen(r) not in the complex style, in normal style, so the word khmer was born , so we have to names khmer and Khem mac rac.
Khmer had the killing field because of Vietnamese they pretending to be khmer, impostor like Pol Pot , even Hun Sen , too.
Now Hun Sen is pushing khmer to very danger of nuclear by giving land to China, our ancestors, too predicted that...

For those who don't know about Cambodia, it's belonged to the Vietnamese communist after the false-flag operation in 1979 to overthrow the Khmer Rouge regime (A genocidal regime that once time used to be their ally for fighting against the Khmer Republic that backed by the US). After taking control over Cambodia more than 10 years it began to withdraw in 1990 when the USRR was no longer powerful enough to give its weapon. But they left beside the ethnic Vietnamese that able to speak Khmer and some loyal Khmer puppets to reign over Cambodia since then for the continuation of exploiting its people and resource. No wonder why Cambodia still needs importing ton of agricultural products from the Vietnam eventhough about 80% of Cambodia people are farmer. It's not about racial discrimination, it's just about fact.
