    Any idea where I can get the small part that the caster screws into on the bottom of the shelf. I have an old wire shelf but the "female" that receives the caster is missing. Thank you!

    You skipped a step? How do I remove the pressure-fit threaded insert so I can insert the thicker post casters?

    • @fixminet1593

      Get some channel locks and twist to break the seal and then they should hammer out with a flat head screwdriver around the circumference. Or you could thread a foot or bolt into it and hammer that outwards

      WOW and here I was working like a dog trying to beat the treaded part out with a hammer. All I had to do was flip the rack upside down 😮

      Some of the manufacturer's vids show that you install them diagonally to each other, ex. one locking wheel on the "front" left, and the other on the "back" right of the shelving.

    Can you reuse the grip ring stem castors?, I didn’t notice my shelving came with two castor with brakes and two without brakes. So I need to change their position. But I need to remove them without damaging them first.

    any idea how to get a stuck wheel out? it is the same type as the one you are holding at 3 minutes, only able to get it out a quarter inch before it is completely stuck even used a hammer and crowbar and no luck.

  • @CarlaLarpin
    @CarlaLarpin ปีที่แล้ว +1

    is it the same if I flip it over. So the top poles becomes the bottom poles. The split sleeves works the same as well as the shelves? The is no unevenness?

    • @CasterHQ
      @CasterHQ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, most of these wire shelving come with levelers instead of casters, if this is the case, just remove the levelers first by unscrewing then screw in the casters.

      @@CasterHQ How do I get the Caster (the big one ) in the hole if has the piece that the leveler screws into in it?!! And then the other side has a black cap stuck in it?!

  • @ToadenK
    @ToadenK 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yea putting the big castors in on the top, not working for me. Gotta take off the feet, that seems to be an issue for me right now. Next thing I'm trying is spraying master blaster on it and try to unscrew it (at least on another site it said they can be unscrewed) so I take off the screw foot and put some needle nose plyers in it.

    • @CasterHQ
      @CasterHQ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      When you say aren't the screw in type, are you referring to the grip ring stem version? If that is the case you will simply need to pry them out with a flat head screw driver.

      Typically a flat head screw driver between the plastic cap and just pry/pop it off works for us. :)

    Menards sells casters too, but your prices look better for online sales. However, their 3" has 120 lbs capacity, which is 480 lbs per rack; & their 4-inch is 150 lbs, which is 600 lbs/rack. Do you sell any 3/8 threaded that are 120 or higher?
    135 - 220 lbs 3 5/8 inch 3/8 threaded would be great. (ideally a wheel, the exact height of a 2x4) Also, does anyone make a 3- 4 inch ball wheel?

    • @CasterHQ
      @CasterHQ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rachel,
      Does yours contain black plastic caps on either side of the legs? If it does you can pop those caps off and you should be able to install these. If not, I’m not sure what to tell you. Thank you.

    • @rachelcitrino
      @rachelcitrino 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CasterHQ mine do not have caps on the bottom but there are caps on the top. Do you think there are screw holes under the caps? If so I will just invert the legs altogether.

    • @CasterHQ
      @CasterHQ  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That could he very possible. Pop the caps off on top and see if it’s either threaded or a hollow hole. Let me know the dimensions and I can recommend the product.

    I had originally given this video a “Like,” for showing how to install the light-duty casters, but had to remove the “Like,” and give a “DISLIKE,” for the video not showing how truly difficult it can be to install the heavy-duty casters. Spring steel spring wants to spring back into its original shape. I am thinking that there is a way to rig a jig, to facilitate keeping everything aligned, while tapping with a mallet, while working alone. (With a helper present, I am thinking that one can hold everything in alignment, while the other uses the mallet.) I would like to see installation of the heavier-duty casters done, for real, through the entire process, rather just pantomimed, with a cursory explanation..

      Thanks for the feedback!! I’ll be sure to make a new video and see if I can help you out with your installation of the heavy duty metro grip ring stem caster installation.

    Does not show how to flip the shelves, does not show actually installing the heavy duty wheels.... you can't strike in a straight line as the wheels are off center, and how are you supposed to hold the friction rings with pliers while accomplishing this miracle. Now, I figured it out, but that's not the point of a You-tube tutorial. Show, don't tell.
