I can recommend the Dewalt flexvolt 54v Recip saw, contrary to popular belief, it is FAR more powerful than the 18v. I upgraded from the 18v to 54v about a year ago and it has made such a difference - chews through roots and 4x4 fence posts for fun ! I use the Dewalt nail tough Extreme blades with it, these don't go blunt as quick as standard blades when ripping through soil and gravel !
They put up more than a little fight 🙄handy bits of kit those saws👌that fork does more work than the rake often, replaced all my green hand tools with orange/ pink so we can spot it when clearing up😅
Hi Nathan great job 👍 the tools you use are great. I've dug many a stump out using a spade then cutting the roots with a saw 😩 😩 Never too late to learn 🤔
Gotta love a bit of shrub pulling, the most awkward bit for me is getting the chain set properly, do you find the slings a bit easier? I see you use both, can you just use the sling on its own?
I generally just use the sling, these were kind of straight up with nothing to catch on so went for the chain timber screwed in and the chain on that to prevent slipping up, which was particularly successful. Sling normally does the job tho👍
@@diesel_man99 like most things 😬 I'd go echo for petrol gear tbh, only still on Stihl as my initial battery investment was with them. What's your brand of choice?
Old for that kind of huffing and puffing 🤣 I think both of the gardens could do with some attention. That high jack is still saving your bones it works a treat
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd well if my boss would try this he'd still have 2 shovels 1 pick axe. Also we use the bars with the small impact heads on they go through anything
👍💪 2 more tools I need to add to my van. Time to start saving the back on digging and get myself a jack, 👍
Any tool that helps right 👌

Sounds ideal I'll look into those 👍 anything has to be better than a hand saw
They put up a lil fight. I need to get a battery sawzall, got a lecy 1 but rarely use it. I'm digging that pitchfork mate 😉

Cheers, didn't work too great here and can be hit and miss but if it's safe to do so I usually give it a go 👌
Watch them cables 😬 good job mate 👏
I had a good scout for any services and put my rubber wellies on just in case😅
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd 🤣
Good job Nathan, don't want to many of them in a day...
Cheers 👍 don't want too many in a year to be fair 😅

Ur getting good use of that saw
If you're talking about the chainsaw it gets regular use, the sawzall on the other hand cries when out of its box as it knows it's heading for abuse😅
I got told the other day that Stihls have got very hard to get and the price has flew up.
@@diesel_man99 like most things 😬 I'd go echo for petrol gear tbh, only still on Stihl as my initial battery investment was with them. What's your brand of choice?
I like husky. Echo is hard to get here in Ireland 🇮🇪 it's mainly Stihl and husky.
Well they do make some of the best saws 👍👍

I had to get the bar out on a couple 😱 I need a mini digger😅🤔

Anything that works, does the job that doesn't break you... breaking kit is part of it🤔
I use a makita one, coupled with a decent chain anc that Jack there’s very few small trees and shrubs that this combo won’t shift!
They are handy, 2 of these shrubs were kind of muti stem so didn't jack out well but the saw is good on roots....better than an old chainsaw 😬😅
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd dread to think of the damage to my body I did over the years of digging them out with a spade, mattock and metal bar.
😬 hopefully not too much, I ask that question about a few things I do
This doesn't look fun at all
It's not, I need to say no to any more of this stuff😅
