One place where Citi has the clear advantage is with Choice Privileges. You can transfer to this program at a 2:1 ratio. No, Choice hotels aren't the swankiest places on the planet, but you find them everywhere you travel, not just the big cities. Plus, you can find some surprisingly good deals (why pay $200+ a night at the convention hotel when there's a Comfort Inn a five-minute shuttle ride away for 10,000 points a night?)
3% online groceries on CSP isn't for groceries stores only...It's anything categorized as groceries.... for example gluten free bread, vitamins etc from speciality websites. For example I bought granola bars from Smallbatchgranola and got 3x on my CSP...vitamins from Rhonutrition also 3x points on my CSP. Only problem is you dont know which websites are categorized as online groceries. If I would use my Amex Gold with 4x groceries for those purchases I would (most likely) only got 1x for it.
The difference between primary CDW and secondary CDW is worth $20-30/day for each rental day. The difference isn't just the wording. And the Primary CDW is even stronger when renting internationally.
Usually secondary CDW in the US is primary CDW abroad. Seen it on many other cards. If you only rent a car when going international it might not make a difference.
The average consumer rarely rents rental consumers, let’s be honest. The extra 2x on all those categories, you could just cash out and pay for it if you really wanted CDW.
With the Strata you get 3x on groceries. Which if you’re using that as your primary card for groceries you make back the fee just in that with a $300/month grocery budget. With the autograph you dont get the same travel protections (flight cancellation), also visa is not as conducive for traveling abroad as a Mastercard. Lastly, well Fargo has a terrible app and is just terrible as a bank. I’ve had the autograph for 3 years now and im ready to switch.
The Citi Travel Portal is garbage. It is routinely more expensive than just booking a hotel directly. Sometimes, by hundreds of dollars, totally negating the $100 hotel credit and even the 10 points per dollar earned. Wtf.
My main set up is AMEX but as we all know AMEX is hit or miss internationally. Looking for a secondary set up I can use overseas and really curious what Citi does with the "elite" version. I feel with AMEX raising annual fees for coupon books, I may need to change set ups.
I got approved for Strata. They sent me a mailer & the bonus was too tempting, hee hee. Pretty sure I can hit the spend organically with upcoming vehicle maintenance & whatnot. I was already over 5/24 & do not have a Sapphire card, so now I have some kind of travel protections and a bonus for my next trip. I might keep it if the travel protections end up being worth the annual fee… I need to read that fine print.
Why did Citi take so long to step it up? I got tired of waiting and went with Chase. Now i cant wait to see what their premium card will come out with 😮
One of my favorite things about the citi premier is that cash back is .01 per point where others are between .005 and .007 per point. Which in my opinion is much more flexible on point redemption.

THIS. That 1:2 ratio is absolutely overpowered. I’m averaging a 4x multiplier on my points through that partner at some of their nicest hotels.
Cheating their way into the CSP conversation is genius. I didn’t even realize.
CSP vs CSP

I’m f see s😊 he b h b nnb😅 0:20 hours 😊
Another citi premier benefit is the +2 years of extended warranty that steers me towards buying big ticket items with it
How does it compare to the Wells Fargo autograph sets?
Doesn't AMEX Blue Cash Preferred get 6x back on super markets and streaming?
On 6k for grocery spend and it's cash back only no points still a good card though
King of cashback. Useless for travel
More curious if it’s worth it to wait for the Strata Elite?
I’m thinking that is just going to be a new name for the Citi Prestige
@@TheCreditShifuis the doordash benefit yearly or just one year
The Strata is just the Wells Fargo Autograph (standard) with a fee
But it doesn't carry the stink of Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo are a bunch of crooks.
Autograph doesn’t have gas or groceries as a primary category for points tho, like one or the other is left out
It has Gas but they need more transfer partners

crazy how now a days $200/night is called lower end hotels...
The better points earning of the Citi Strata is very needed for long term usage of the card.
The Citi Travel Portal is garbage. It is routinely more expensive than just booking a hotel directly. Sometimes, by hundreds of dollars, totally negating the $100 hotel credit and even the 10 points per dollar earned. Wtf.
That may be true sometimes, but I just got a stay through the portal that was cheaper than booking directly when factoring in the 10x and the credit.
Chase just please give us 3x grocery on everything not just online you can eveh get rid of some of the credits and streaming category.
Get rid of the peloton and Lyft junk as well and they’ll have my sole attention.

The mid tier travel card 👑 Citi Strata Premier 🙌 A CSP that we can have in our wallets and use it💪
What is cdw?
Strata, Double Cash and 3 Custom Cash and you can cover everything but housing
Watch they release their Prestige replacement as "Citi Strata Reserve" or something, just so they can continue the "compare me to Chase" game.
Any idea how long the 75k SUB will be available on the Citi Strata?
Depends how many people are signing up
Does it transfer to hyatt?
Yes
what's "it?" There's 2 options here
@@Yourpolice69 everybody knows chase transfers to hyatt...
I've never been impressed by the CSP, I just can't get into a car that I won't be earning a lot of points on
Citi's points categories are global though chase is not.
Why did Citi take so long to step it up? I got tired of waiting and went with Chase. Now i cant wait to see what their premium card will come out with 😮
It’s literally the same card with a new name. What did they step up.
One of my favorite things about the citi premier is that cash back is .01 per point where others are between .005 and .007 per point. Which in my opinion is much more flexible on point redemption.
CSP and the whole Chase lineup needs a refresh.😅
CSP vs CSP who will win lol
The CSP won.
Ben you're Brit? I always thought that was just your TH-cam character.
American but he married a British-Asian I believe.
@@Lifeissorich.that wouldn’t change his accent though.
During extended international travel, Premier kills Preferred.
The battle of the CSP’s.
Looks like citi really stepped it up
Bro said low end hotels and then said $200 a night 💀 bro I thought you lived in Asia
I live in the USA, $200 is low end here. But yeah in Asia $200 can get you a pretty nice marriott
CSP wins
😊
OMG they added insurances back! 😱
$10,000 x10% = 10,000 ? 😂
