The blue hexagon with the white lightning bolt isn't the amount of parts you're using but the amount of power cores. Power cores only really matter in survival mode but every engine, thruster, propellor and thing that makes you move through the space uses power cores.

you can turn on mirror mode in advanced functions and there is a first-person if you press C outside a vehicle (or inside but that defeats the point) and... I forgot
The land speed world record was placed by the Thrust SSC... Guess RCE broke said record now with the glorious Truss (I hope i wrote that correctly xD)

Tip, the dragon thrusters are really usefully, because the engines eventually cap, but the thrusters can keep going to at least 3300 kph

Always thought Aerodynamics in games like this are awful. Now that I'm studying Aerodynamics myself, for being an engineer RCE can be proud of, I'm thinking that I'm not gonna implement such mental equation involving tensors and operators that I'm not certain of what deviated mind created them, to a game. I'm changing half-way throught to civil engineering to build strongest-shaped bridges I guess.
I like how the only difference between this land speed record and the last is the addition of a bridge. Well done.

When you take a bridge then the bridge gets old and rusty so you have to replace every part of the original bridge after that there is a new technology to unrust the original bridge parts and remake the bridge so you do which bridge is the right bridge

Physics problem with this vid: weight does not impact top speed, only acceleration so you can add all the aerodynamics you want.
Weight _does_ affect top speed. Drag increases depending on speed, so the acceleration does matter, as that's the number that decreases with drag, and when you hit zero acceleration, you don't increase in velocity.
How is this not obvious?
The only thing left to make is a supersonic snail

I feel like, in the spirit of the challenge, you should do the same thing, but with the caveat that you CANNOT replace any original bridge bits (you need to add go fast bits to a bridge, not replace them).
Bonus challenge would be to do this with one of those massive bridges you downloaded at the beginning!
cool tip: Putting the wheels on hinges that steer downward by 10 degrees can increase the load capacity of the wheels before dragging occurs.

I'm one of those people that when shown something going insanely fast is like "it's not fast enough". Thus we need a faster bridge.

Bridge review: Has perfect truss structures with adequate placement to hold the weight, plus able to break the sound barrier? 10/10.
The "complexity" isn't the number of parts btw, different blocks have different complexity: normal blocks are worth 1, most wheels are worth 10 and skiis are worth 20
I am completely disgusted that we never got a Bridge Review for this monstrosity! I would expect this lapse in judgement from a architect but NEVER from a Engineer. Ok going back to eating my Taco Bell now.

Well, this supersonic bridge is not only a true feat of engineering, but also shows the power of *wedges.* Scrapman would be proud
Also, you can probably minmaxx the engine/weight ratio since every added engine has fo carry itself. Now, I wonder how does this thing steer lol
If you add spoilers but turn them on their heads, they'll give negative downforce effectively lowering the weight of your vehicle
If you find a sweetspot, you can have full contact but almost no additional friction, optimizing your potential Vmax 😋
Two ideas. "Slowest sonic boom" and "sonic boom speedrun"(don't think it's been done, ((haven't checked)if so instant record no matter what. Starts as soon as you break 1mph ends at sonnic boom.)
I don’t know if you have played it before I’d love to see you play Spaceflight simulator. It’s on steam and it’s basically a 2d space sandbox game. Kind of like ksp but still in development. I think you would like the game and it would be entertaining to see.
At the danger of asking something stupid, shouldn't a bridge be, y'know, spanning something? As it lies flat on the ground like that it's just a slightly uglier _road_ to a casual observer...
Day 3 suggested RCE to play a mobile game called DEPOTISM 3K, because there is a shaming wheel and strongges shapes on it.
Matt! Don't you see you're getting marginally decreasing returns on the number of engines!? Be a good engineer and optimize your design, or else you'll just be doing exactly what architects do: Calling it a day when it's good functional!
Being that just watched your "beating Poly Bridge 2 without using bridges" video. I feel there is some conflicting RCE lore here.
9:50 if you have some blocks that are super aerodynamic and some only slightly, why didnt you just make the bridge beams out of the super dynamic ones? just a more gradual sloping beamed bridge,, that way u can make it longer as well..
i think i remember from physics that air resistance rises quadratically with speed. so if you are at around 500mph, a little aerodynamics will indeed make a huge difference.
try using skis for low friction, and RAW engines give a big burst of speed. however those ones at the back aren't actually doing anything, also there's massive drag in between your trusses.

Only you would try. But fastest, nah, I watched a guy build a bridge on a different planet (KSP) and that bridge went way faster.
This isn't the only truss thats going supersonic into a wall right now

Also could you play battlefield V, it has bridges, you can build bridges and stuff, and has an engineer combat role.
The question is: "Is it still technically a bridge if there are nothing connected on both side?". At least you should put something on the bridge. Like a car or something on it to prove that this bridge has been built for a purpose. You are an engineer, not an architect, Matt, right?
