Eh, just a typical day on I-75. That's why we always say that Europe drives on the left side of the road, while we drive on what's left of the road, because Steve keeps driving his stupid bridge at 600 MPH.
The blue hexagon with the white lightning bolt isn't the amount of parts you're using but the amount of power cores. Power cores only really matter in survival mode but every engine, thruster, propellor and thing that makes you move through the space uses power cores.
The description of the tower bridge was actually german. It was really funny how he read it out. (Edit) Timestamp: 0:39 For those who are interested: It means the following: "Pull up the bridge with arrow key up and press it again to lower it "
I am actually from germany. The description said "pull the bridge up by pressing the upwards arrow key and push it again to lower it" But Matt trying to pronunce it was probably one of the most entertaining things in the whole video XDDD
This should've been the description of the video "In today's episode of trailmakers Matt shows us how to deliver a bridge, Amazon Prime next day delivery style"
Weird but engineering marvels are created in trailmakers. Man I love these experimental designs video's from matt . Bridges are really the strongest structures.
870 mph bridge. Nobody that has seen this channel would have any of an accurate ideal of that concept, until they watch this video. @RealCivilEngineer Bridge review: Has perfect truss structures with adequate placement to hold the weight, plus able to break the sound barrier? 10/10.
you can turn on mirror mode in advanced functions and there is a first-person if you press C outside a vehicle (or inside but that defeats the point) and... I forgot
I feel like, in the spirit of the challenge, you should do the same thing, but with the caveat that you CANNOT replace any original bridge bits (you need to add go fast bits to a bridge, not replace them). Bonus challenge would be to do this with one of those massive bridges you downloaded at the beginning!
Always thought Aerodynamics in games like this are awful. Now that I'm studying Aerodynamics myself, for being an engineer RCE can be proud of, I'm thinking that I'm not gonna implement such mental equation involving tensors and operators that I'm not certain of what deviated mind created them, to a game. I'm changing half-way throught to civil engineering to build strongest-shaped bridges I guess.
Great video Matt, I have always wanted to know how to break the land speed record with a bridge, and now I know how! Also, The Eternal Cylinder was released on Steam today, do you think that you could do another video of that sometime soon?
When you take a bridge then the bridge gets old and rusty so you have to replace every part of the original bridge after that there is a new technology to unrust the original bridge parts and remake the bridge so you do which bridge is the right bridge That is the bridge of thesis and, this video
"This bridge gets 50 gals to the mile." "... What?" "Goes from 0 to 200 in five seconds." "We're talking about a... bridge... right?" "Naturally... Only fastest bridge in the world." "I feel like... that a really low bar."
The reason for the wheelys is actually not the jerk of starting it’s the speed you go when starting that basically makes the bottom of the bridge act like a wing and that’s why it slowly touched the ground
try using skis for low friction, and RAW engines give a big burst of speed. however those ones at the back aren't actually doing anything, also there's massive drag in between your trusses.
i think i remember from physics that air resistance rises quadratically with speed. so if you are at around 500mph, a little aerodynamics will indeed make a huge difference.
Why do so many people think more weight reduces a car's top speed? The terminal velocity is just proportional to power over drag. Thus more mass doesn't change a car's top speed, it only lowers its acceleration
Two ideas. "Slowest sonic boom" and "sonic boom speedrun"(don't think it's been done, ((haven't checked)if so instant record no matter what. Starts as soon as you break 1mph ends at sonnic boom.)
Well, this supersonic bridge is not only a true feat of engineering, but also shows the power of *wedges.* Scrapman would be proud Also, you can probably minmaxx the engine/weight ratio since every added engine has fo carry itself. Now, I wonder how does this thing steer lol
An engineer: "Anyway, this gives me a good idea of what is possible when bridge building." When you lied your way through the job interview and now you're being given your first task.
the game actually got it pretty good with the engines if you are able to connect them (somehow) all together and run them completely in sync.. then and only then it would really make you faster if you put more engines together so the Supersonic Bridge is confirmed engineering xD
7:00 im not sure adding 4 sloping beams makes it more aerodynamic in real life.. you'd end up with a lot of turbulence behind causing drag... better would be to add a flat roof... make the front of the bridge more pointy like a fast train...
I think if he uses the most aerodynamic blocks to build the struts he would’ve break the sound barrier already without those tweaking. But I still had a good laugh, thanks for the video.
Weight _does_ affect top speed. Drag increases depending on speed, so the acceleration does matter, as that's the number that decreases with drag, and when you hit zero acceleration, you don't increase in velocity. How is this not obvious?
When I divided power by weight and studs it takes, it gave me the answer that the Mini-Thruster is the most powerful engine, even better than the Dragon one.
9:50 if you have some blocks that are super aerodynamic and some only slightly, why didnt you just make the bridge beams out of the super dynamic ones? just a more gradual sloping beamed bridge,, that way u can make it longer as well..
I don’t know if you have played it before I’d love to see you play Spaceflight simulator. It’s on steam and it’s basically a 2d space sandbox game. Kind of like ksp but still in development. I think you would like the game and it would be entertaining to see.
Another idea for a bridge speed record: make a bridge with a way to propel whatever is inside it and see if you can break the sound barrier. sort of like a bridge gun
"I'm gonna build a bridge myself, so I'm gonna start with the cockpit". Gotta love how absurd it sounds :D
Had to pause and scroll down to see if someone made that comment. And here you are.
Lol
i am talking about the chicken ofcourse
I'm pretty sure that it's a Brand new sentence.

Next on this series: "Can I make the strongest shape break the sound barrier?"
And then drive it into a really tight tunnel at full speed?

Right... there was no bridge review... :(
Taking the bridge to work just got a new meaning.
It had a meaning? 😂
lol the decription of the tower bridge is german, im german, and it means: Pull the bridge up with up arrow and press it again to let it down

It means the following:

This kind of reminds me of the armored vehicle-launched bridges the military uses.
same
I love them
Hell yeah Trailmakers! Just bought this game last night from watching your older videos, super fun.

The only logical next step in the bridge building saga is to make a bridge made of bridges
00:40 hear how RCE tries the german languages by speaking it like a Norwegian would😅
I like how the only difference between this land speed record and the last is the addition of a bridge. Well done.
imagine opening your door and watching a bridge do wheelie 😂

I’m very happy to see you found this game. I hope you upload going through the campaign.
I feel Matt is a crazy engineer at this point, what crazy bridge is he going to come out with next
Probably a space bridge ( spacecraft in the shape of a bridge)
Engineering has engineered itself.

Tip, the dragon thrusters are really usefully, because the engines eventually cap, but the thrusters can keep going to at least 3300 kph
Finally been waiting on trailmakers it’s been awhile
cool tip: Putting the wheels on hinges that steer downward by 10 degrees can increase the load capacity of the wheels before dragging occurs.
"Look at the speed, we are creamin it!"
might be the greatest thing I've ever heard
That was incredible.
Hey Civil engeneer. You forgot the famus brige rewiew

I can't believe we had 3 bridges in this episode and not a single proper bridge review! Why do you do like an architect, Matt?
Finally something worth watching

The land speed world record was placed by the Thrust SSC... Guess RCE broke said record now with the glorious Truss (I hope i wrote that correctly xD)

Physics problem with this vid: weight does not impact top speed, only acceleration so you can add all the aerodynamics you want.
Weight _does_ affect top speed. Drag increases depending on speed, so the acceleration does matter, as that's the number that decreases with drag, and when you hit zero acceleration, you don't increase in velocity.
How is this not obvious?
