Hey, just so you know:
-e to refire a weapon in the same spot
-shift to select multiple of the same weapon
-ctr+1 to group weapons to a hotkey (works with other numbers)
-backspace to delete
-r to repair
These hotkey will make your game a bit easier to play, and your videos even more enjoyable than what they already are!
Great tips for the game.
Adding to this--
- Cross-bracing like the boats had in the beginning down at the bottom will help to support more unusual structures. Bigger bridges in the future.
@@Altimoo Oh yeah. Didn't think about that. Great tip too!
Like this so the next broat is even better!
And one final tip you can add, if you try PvP and you see a player called Incursus in the lobby, LEAVE!
You will not have any bridge fun if he is around, and once it is "Cannon O'Clock" and you don't have the weapons, it is a very bad day.
@@CMDRSweeper And that's another really good fact. No engineer should deal with the incursion.
You have made BROAT. Dominance asserted, enemy obliterated, structural integrity maintained, and subscriber count increased. I call that a success.
I call this comment of the video
Round of applause mate.
Here ya go
Way to go!
Engineering angels smiles upon ya mate
Way to go
Way to go indeed filla
An absolute trooper lad
What a way to go lad
Duke ways-a-lot smiles upon ya lad
I wonder though, is it really a Broat? Looks a bit more like a Boadge to me.
Let's be honest an opponent building a bridge on his own ship after nearly destroying yours but letting you have false hope of surviving is probably the biggest insult one can get in this game...
I was hoping he was playing against AI otherwise that was an embarrassing game for whoever was on the other side.
The biggest insult is dying to minigun rush
Would be but its just a ai, and took way too long to do it
@@riptide8350 yeah....
@@MadMax-yq9ix was it ai? it built so weird when it almost got the boat back. wouldn't an ai try to build back the ship in its original design?
Amazing! Imagine getting you ship eviscerated while your opponent is more concerned with playing polybridge
Imagine getting wreaked by a guy who just builds a bridge while fighting you on the side.
I don’t think that was a real person they were building hella slow
Somewhere, at a very remote military base:
Lt: We lost our ship.
Adm: Submarine?
Lt: No, Sir.
Adm: What was it then? Plane? Ship? Torpedo?
Lt: No, Sir. We lost to a bridge, Sir.
Adm: What the...
"Di... Did it hit the bridge?"
"No, Sir, the bridge hit it."
@@Andyjoe522 Adm: Lt don't get cheeky with me, what's the bloody difference?
Lt: Well we tried to hit the bridge, Sir, but their anti-air defenses were too strong.
Adm: Their what now...?
Lt: Yes, Sir, and then the bridge shot at us with... Howitzers and lasers and even orbital strikes, Sir...

@@inflatablewolfieAdm:HOW?
“Sir, our artillery strike hit their bridge!”
“Good, now there command center is out of action.”
“One small problem sir, it’s a literal bridge”
Matt's fixation on the Bridge is pretty much him acting like an ARCHITECT. It's utterly unneeded on a ship but he still makes it because it looks pretty
That's what happens when you tell an engineer not acquainted with nautical terms to build a bridge on a ship.
Maybe he is just practicing bridge building on the go
It’s the devs fault
They named him an architect
You're missing the true genius here. Matt is developing the latest in bridge replacement technology!
You see, once perfected, they will build a complete bridge on a ship while at the same time build a ship under an existing bridge. Then when both are ready, they knock out the pylons off the old and busted bridge and float it away, then move the new hotness into place. Once in, build the new pylons and remove the ship.
Btw, a similar tech already exists for highway overpasses on land, letting them essentially replace an entire bridge in one night for minimal traffic disruption.
@@Nareimooncatt Does it include "free shipping" though?
RCE: Let's build a suspension bridge!
RCE: Builds a cable stay bridge ...
Yeah, he's suffering from acute architect syndrome in this episode.
Hey fellow Engineer, you can make controle groups for weapons to make it easier for you to fire your weapons! Click on a cannon(up to 3) and hold shift (or controle) and then press 1 and then it will be assigned to controle group 1. Then press 1 and you can aim the cannon, fire it, and then once it reloaded and you are sure that it hit, press e and it will fire again, in the same position. This is a IMENSE TIME SAVER!
Also, in areas like the front of your ship, if you have a huge ship, you can build a automatic repair device, but be sure to protect it with metal and maybe some sandbags and it will auto repair. But only do this when you have a good economy.
Also USE DOUBLE DOORS! 7:43 you can add double doors, just hold on the door and make a tiny layer of door before it. Double doors or you could even make double crossed doors, which will help protect. But don't overdo it
or else you're firing angle will be blocked a lot.
i really enjoyed you playing forts high seas and i would be happy if you would make more videos
Aye!
Matt: Nobody likes an overhang.
Me: Except architects, they love them for their awe-inspiring aesthetic.
Can't wait for RCE to start making cooking videos and cook a bridge pizza and a highway hamburger
Average Forts player: we need guns, resources and defense before the enemy gets the upper hand…
RCE: *bridges*
A couple youtuber suggestions for you to watch to get better at the game are Project Incursus Gaming and SynergyGamingTV.
Incursus has a lot of forts videos and streams, is well-connected with the community, and although he doesn't make tutorials, he does explain a good bit of the stuff he does and you can glean a lot of information off the sheer volume of content he has. Plus, he's a really good, chill, content creator. If you watch some of the more recent streams, you might see me doing some stuff.
Synergy is a smaller channel, and is not as liked by the community, however has a good chunk of forts content, mostly casts of high-skill ranked matches, as well as a lot of tutorials.
when I first saw this game a couple months ago I immediately went to your channel looking for you covering the game. I have not watched this yet but the thumbnail of this video is EXACTLY what I had hoped to find when I was looking for you playing this. you did not disappoint and now to see how this excursion went
Paddy's daddy just flex on his opponent. Here just let me cut your ship in to thirds. Then I will remove all my weapons. Tear down most of my top deck. Exposes one of my core. Well I guess my bridge is done so I will just laser you now. Brutal RCE very entertaining but brutal.
The amount of disrespect to make a bridge while the other ship is struggling to survive lol
The amount of respect of the opponent to stick around for so long though, despite being 90% destroyed though xD
Holy cow you really dominated that other ship. Literally cut them to pieces, helpless and unable to defend themselves at the end. Brutal and efficient.
Tip for you... you can group weapons together to shoot at the same time. Just press on a weapon and drag to a another one that is the same weapon. You should have two weapons grouped the max of weapons in one group is 3. I hope this helps you. Btw you should check out a game called supermechs. I am sure you will like it.
RCE gonna make everything into a bridge weather it's possible or not

I believe Naval Architect is another term for Shipwright which is one of the main roles you play in the game regardless of your character class. I'm sure there are more naval commanders who were also naval engineers but there were a few shipwrights who were also sh0ip COs.
Guide on basics of Forts
The first thing to keep in mind is, you are in an arms race, first to shoot wins.
"E" makes guns shoot at their last aim spot, useful when wave-shooting.
Also it is a good idea to woodspam (watch a tutorial) because metal is expensive, so you kinda need to protect it too.
Psycological warfare is important, you can convince your enemy to leave if his fort isnt in a good shape. And try to get him to rage, rage-plays lose most times
Use shields if your enemy uses 20 millimeter cannons, and shields can even stop cannons while still getting destroyed, making them a good last-stand defence. And they can reflect lasers, obviously.
My opinion:
Phantom is the most powerful when used correctly, you can carry guns and devices, making you able to chain shoot (move the reloading gun away, then replace it by moving a pre-built gun). You can also make stashes (just put tons of guns in a safe place then move them to their needed spot).
1: E is handy, but it adds some inaccuracy so manually refiring is handy
2: woodspam is good, yes
3: he will likely be playing against ai most of the time, as he doesn't seem to have a common gaming partner and beginner players like him stand no chance in public lobbies
4: Phantom is a very handy commander, especially on boats, but the abilities are quite niche and overall someone like Overdrive, Warthog, Spook or Architect are often stronger. Buster is also good on boats.
That's cool and all but he just 100%ed while building a bridge so I don't think he needed the explanation
Bridge Review: 9/10 - Wobbly but obviously unstoppable!
Alternative title.... I built a bridge that happens to float and blows things up
The fact that you were just sitting here building a bridge in the middle of a battle with this massive ship just has me rolling. GG sir, truly a peak engineer
Forts is a legendary game!
Literally the origin of the word "bridge" in the context of a ship.
I'm absolutely loving this series so far! I really hope you keep going with it, you make some truly splendid content mate
Brings new meaning to the phrase "bridge crew"
You just love seeing Matt bullying people in this game whilst casually building birdges in the middle of a naval battle
*Looks at utterly destroyed ship in front of Matt’s bridge*
“Siri, please find an alternate route. I don’t think I can afford that toll.”
It's pretty architecty to have a well designed boat and make it less powerful in order to make it look like a bridge...
Best phrase ever, “I’ll keep trying to herrass them”😂😂 7:46
What an architect, not cross-bracing his support towers.
RCE is literally bridging the gap between battleships and... Bridges...
Haven't tried this game out, even though I've seen several videos on it.
Dunno why not.
Take care and stay safe!
Love your content brother. Much support and many blessings from the States.
I'm loving this new Poly Bridge update !!!
RCE u can actually place any guns/cannons on a group so u can shoot multiple cannons at the same time by pressig a key (kinda forgot wich key tbh) but yeah das it
control + any number
RCE: If you wish to defeat me you have to train for 4 years in engineering
Enemy: Is it possible to learn this power
RCE proving that on times of conflict, building bridges is better than building walls... or boats
"Where's the captain?"
"At the bridge."
"Yes, but where?"
could you make a perfectly engineered battleship?
Why am I imagining these ships being crewed by Kerbals?
Im really enjoying the forts videos, keep up the grind man! Congrats on 1 mil
2:03 u gain a nice amount of iron
Loved this episode, keep em comin sir!
This is second place after Polly bridge on my favourite games you’ve played
This is the beautiful absolutely unhinged engineering themed content I'm here for
That other ship will be thinking , " Is that Idiot exposing his reactors to build *BRIGDES*!??! GODDAMN IT
"Flak cannon" is redundant because "Flak" is already an abbreviation for "Flugabwehrkanone" or "Air Defense Cannon"
is it a bridge or a boat? Both
Paddy loving it
How excited you got is actually adorable
that was one bridgy humiliation
If you hold left click while selecting a weapon, you can select up to 3 weapons and then fire them at the same time. This should help get through some defences.
Wow, that fight has so much suspense going on!
Right now I am just waiting for RCE to make a bridge out of bridges
My anxiety levels went through the roof seein that boat bowin in the middle lol.
Just noticed this. CONGRATZ on 1M subs!!
Engineer, USE SPACE to switch between your fort and enemys fort quickly! Please use this when you fire you cannons, so we can see where they land! Or else you could record a replay of the core getting destroyed and put it in the video afterwards.
I love forts, i love this channel, perfect vid, i would rly like more.
I saw the first video for this series and loved it, Matt you find the best games
you should play Minecraft using the Create Mod if you haven't already, it was practically made for you.
Love this series, hope it continues
Hi mate, I love your videos and always wondered if you would like to try my personal favourite game, Elite: Dangerous. It may not be as creative as the other ones (unfortunately you can't build a bridge in it), BUT it has plenty of cool structures and even some spaceship Engineers. It's also very picteresque, so you might like it!
BTW with some practice you can suspend the core and move it that way to other places.
YES, FINALLY, I was waiting for a video on this game
On the first part
Me: just play the game Matt!
On the second part
Me: i hope he finishes bridge!!!
A Bridge! The ship’s natural enemy.
Matt. You of all people should know the difference between suspension and cable-stayed bridges.
Would love to see more of this!
We need a RCE / Incursus crossover episode where they do bridge building in forts
incursus would make a particle accelerator on his newly-constructed replica of the london tower bridge and use it to annihilate RCE
In real life architects are technically the engineers of the structural design world.
the ultimate mockery, annihilate the enemy while having fun building.
Engineer, cross bracing would have helped your bridge imensly!
Never thought you ever played it
Please continue
FYI: you can group weapons, to fire at the same time. Also, the base game has quite a bit of bridge building.
Alternate title: "Real Engineer bullies Architect with weapons borrowed from Tony Stark(another engineer) and a Dangling Bridge"
After watching so many Incursus streams it feels so weird to see 29k energy storage but not a single weapon on a fort lol
The ropes don't really work like ropes, more like extended springs, they constantly pull things slightly together.
That... That was... That was beautiful 😭😭😭
That's the one proper way to play this game.
Should I try to make accurate blueprints for this?
A bridge goes over the water
Now it goes on it!
What’s next?
A bridge under the sea!
I'm loving the gameplay of this game.
The radio just rickrolled me
That's the second most impressive ferry I've ever seen.
20:46: RCE cuts enemy to shreds (literally) 😂
Love your videos, keep up the good work
You should play against Blitz sometime, RCE. That was an amazing construction.
Next time you play you should try upgrading your resource gatherers (smoke stack and propeller)
it's more efficient to just build more
Engineers way of asserting dominance: Bridge
i feel like engineer is playing a sandbox in a war game
Core swings would be insane on that map
RCE you can actually group the weapons on a number like “1 2 or 3* i think the maximum it can hold is 3 weapons when binded
i can imagine incursus screaming at him when they are on the same team
I love that he completely decimated the enemy just so they would leave him be
You can upgrade emp rockets into explosive missiles
RCE I really like your videos and you are my idol
