It’s called a shear pin. They’re made of softer metals and are supposed to break when you run into a sand bar or rock to keep you from damaging your prop. Currently working on a Sea King for Montgomery Ward, made by Chrysler, about that same year.
Or bending the prop shaft!
Looks like that thing might be good for diving.
any help on how to change the impeller would be great
I just picked up a 1969 Chrysler 9.9 HP. I'm hoping there are more propeller options than the 2 blade.
Parts were impossible to find for the 66/67. Good luck with yours.
I have the 6HP and I’ve been looking for a 3 blade prop closest I have found are random ones on eBay
