  • John from www.discountjuicers.com/ demonstrates making Almond Milk in the Omega VRT 330HD juicer and the Omega 8004 Nutrition Center. After watching this video, you will learn how easy it is to make nut milk by letting the juicer seperating the milk from the pulp. You will discover which juicer John likes best for this task and why.

    The best way to make Mit milk with the Omega horizontal models (also the Oscar juicers) is to use 2 steps and no straining is required: 1st, you put the soaked drained nuts through the juicer with the mincing strainer attachment which turns it into pulp. You top up the pulp container with water, add another bowl under the end of the spout and change to the juicing strainer attachment. Then you ladle the watery pulp through.
    No extra straining required, it makes creamy smooth milk. I've been making it this way for years which I learned from an old korean instructional video (these juicers are made in Korea).
    For some reason there are no English speaking instructions to do it this way.

    Once I make the almond milk, I would take some dates and blend the dates with the almond milk.

    what if you mixed the nut milk & pulp together and put it thought the 8004 a second or third time?

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, that would work. It is an extra step, so I did not show it in the video. The other thing about doing it in that way would be due to the 1st stage (larger holes) in the 8004 would cause some of the ground up pulp to enter into the juice, so a more pulpy almond milk... but it does work.

    I basically blended the almonds and nuts in my Waring 1050MX and then put that through the 8006. The trick was not to add all the water in the beginning but blend 50/50 and then at the end rinse the carafe and do the rest. Very nice milk and powder fine almond flour I turn into raw food crackers. Love my 8006!

    Almond milk sold in stores is probably better than dairy milk sold in stores. That being said, I encourage everyone to make their own nut and seed milks at home by soaking and sprouting your nuts and seeds. You will get a fresh, living, high enzyme and nutrient milk and KNOW WHATS GOING INTO IT by doing it yourself.

    yes, that would work. I wish Omega would just make a "proper" nut milk screen. I have told them, and the factory about this, and they hadn't really showed any interest..

    This was so easy to do... I am going to be making a lot more almond milk from now on! Yummmm,

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    correct. The smaller the weave on the nut milk bag, the less sediment. If there are larger holes in the bag, it will let more sediment thru.

    I LOOOOOVEE this juicer! It`s so worth the money.
    I am going to have to try this tomorrow. I think I`m going to make some banana sorbet with a bit of almond milk. Yum!

    I have the 8004 and I use the juicer screen but I cover the first stage with a piece of plastic and I also run the pulp through like 4 times. Between both of those I get super creamy almond milk.

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, this will work better than just trying to juice soaked almonds with water. But I still prefer using the vrt, which just works better.

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, that would work best.

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would recommend the 8004 / 8006 for your particular needs. Running pulp back thru the VRT doesn't work so well, as it will probably get jammed up.

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    absolutely.

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, that is the "standard" way most people would make nut milks, and most people do make them that way. It works good.. but I find it a bit messy. A lot easier (for me) in the vrt.

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    It would probably work a bit better, but due to the 1st stage screen, you may get more particulate in the milk.

    Hi John. I have a Blendtec and Vitamix which can make the nutmilk. Like the VRT how is it in comparison to 8004 for making produce juice? Thank you, ~G

    Hi John! Thanks for the video! Could you please tell me how well would the Champion make nut milk? Would it need the grain attachment?

  • @dachness
    @dachness 13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the video. What are you thoughts on making nut/seed milks in a blender(ie: Vitamix) and straining the pulp out? I own a 8004 and would agree that the design isn't ideal for nut/seed milks.

  • @indoracer
    @indoracer 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi John, do you think that blending the almonds in a Vita-mix and then straining would result in just a good almond milk as the vert? Thanks for your videos.

  • @sehnzen

    I love your videos John. However I read that the soak water should not be used for plants either. I have the Omega VRT and will try this tomorrow instead of my Blendtec.

    Which one is the best at making nut butters and coconut cream, oil and butter?
    And in another video you showed that the 8004/8006 is better than the VRTs for juicing leafy greens and wheat grass right? Couldn't you run the pulp of the leafy greens/wheat grass through the VRT a second time to get more juice out of them?

    How well would the 8004 do with making Flax oil from seeds? or the VRT for that matter?

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    It would mix up the two together; then you could put the mush that came out into a nut milk bag to get your nut milk.

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yes, this is the common way that people make almond milk. That way would work better than using the 8004.. and about the same as the vrt. When I make almond milk, I blend it in the vitamix, and then pour thru the vrt so I dont have to clean the nutmilk bag and get my hands dirty..

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    to get rid of sediment, you need to get a fine mesh nut milk bag.

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Neither of these juicers will extract oil from flax seeds or nuts.

    @javertim Have you tried this yet? I am very curious to know the results as I am determined to make some almond milk in my 8004! :) Thanks!!

  • @Redbelo
    @Redbelo 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That is easy to fix, is just blend the almond with the water before juicing on omega 8004

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    The 8003, 8004, 8005, and 8006 are basically the same juicer. So the 8003 would work the same as the 8004 as shown in this video.

  • @Kampup
    @Kampup 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    if you used the blank screen in the 8004 would it be better?

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I havent tried it. It probably would not work too well, as the water would pour out from the bottom of the juicer REALLY bad, because its not designed for this purpose. The grain attachment is ment ONLY for dry NON OILY grains, such as wheat.

    What is your opinion on the Almond milks sold in stores today?

  • @iroc31407
    @iroc31407 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    can you tell me bout sediment? it's sediment i hate. i love the smooth and creamy texture of store brought nut milks. at home, i get rid of the pulp by squeezing using a nut milk bag but it's the fine grainy sediment taste i hate. how do you get rid of that and have it smooth like store quality?

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    works best by using a blender then a nut milk bag (with fine holes)

  • @vampfiend
    @vampfiend 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can't you improve the results by doing the same thing as you do with coconut milk in the 8004? Blend it first before running it through? That should mix it well with the water.

    can you make soymilk in the omega vrt?

  • @discountjuicers
    @discountjuicers  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    A blender would be best to grind up nuts and dried fruits. That being said, you can alternate feeding them into the 8004/8006 and it will homogenize them as well. I do have a video showing processing dates and nuts in the 8006 at
