      Please consider this scenario:
A man is waiting at a crosswalk of a busy intersection. He hears the cries of a terrified mother behind him. Turning around, he sees a toddler running in his direction, giving every sign the child will run past him and bolt into traffic.
Now the man realizes that he could effortlessly extend his hand and stop the toddler, saving the child's life. He also understands stopping the child will prevent the untold heartaches of a mom watching her child horribly die, the trauma of the striking motorist, and the grief of every witness, relative and friend.
Instead the man freely chooses to do nothing. Brakes screech, vehicles collide, lives are ruined and one is lost. The crosswalk light changes, and the man simply walks around the carnage and continues on his way, thinking "I will do the same in the future."
Do you think he acted reasonably?
Did he show any empathy or compassion?

The idea that Christ suffers with us, mourns for us, is brokenhearted when we are broken hearted. That has helped me through very hard times. It doesn't make the sadness go away, but it does remind us of our importance to God. That he cares. And even more than just caring, he feels what we feel. He stops to our level to weep alongside us. And he reassures us that in the end he will be victorious, and none of this suffering will be for naught.

This argument is null and void for me, because God never became a human. Jesus looked like a human, but he never had to wrestle with the question of if God is real or not. He never had to wonder if God hated Him and was actually using Him as a plaything, to torture and laugh at and keep stretching to see how long it takes to break Him. That’s what I have to wonder everyday. God never struggled like me. Jesus never knew the true loneliness and despair and emptiness that I feel everyday. Jesus KNEW his entire life that He was God, and nothing that happened mattered because He’s God and He’s just gonna be God again when the little people “kill” Him. If Jesus was actually just a “normal” human, who was God but didn’t know it, and still remained innocent and sinless and performed miracles and took on the sin of the world anyway, THEN God could say that He knows what it’s like to be human from experience. But that’s NOT the case. God essentially cheated. He never fully became human, He never truly had to deal with our hardest struggles. The “hardest” thing He dealt with was dying, but even while He was dying He knew for a fact beyond any shadow of a doubt that He was going to Heaven and regaining His “God-ness”. Does any Christian truly know they’re going to Heaven in such a way? No. And they couldn’t possibly. Some may have successfully deluded themselves into the belief, but ironically all of them have different ideas of what Heaven actually is, so you can’t really say this belief was revealed to them by God, otherwise the picture of Heaven would be the same. But I digress; the main point of this comment is, God does not understand my pain, He does not weep with me because He cannot understand it, and the reason He cannot understand it is not because He’s incapable as an all-powerful being, obviously. The reason is that He is God, and not a human, and He knows of His own existence, He doesn’t have to wish and hope and gaslight himself into belief in the face of overwhelming evidence pointing to his non-existence. He simply does not know what it’s like to be a human, and nothing Jesus went through on Earth changes that fact. The most I’ll admit to is that God did a good acting job.

Seeing God working through people moved me in such a way that I am now Christian. I am thankful for my beginnings because I needed to find the faith myself, on my own.

Absolutely you may, let me know if you still have questions.
The simple answer is rebellion, Adam and Eve followed Satan into rebelling against God. They Had everything they needed, perfect bodies, ready food supply, easy enjoyable work (fill the earth, name the animals) and would live forever in the paradise they were given. God only had a single rule, being God and the creator he certainly has the right to make rules, He told them not to eat from his tree.
“From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.” Genesis 2:16,17
They had no need for food, no want of any kind, God was not denying them in some way. So simple was his rule that it was more a show of loyalty, a simple act of obedience to show recognition of God's authority. The sovereign of the universe could if he wanted demand anything of his own creation and they would owe him obedience, but he didn't make any such burdensome demands.
Satan saw the situation with the first human pair as an opportunity, he fooled Eve and Adam joined her willingly. They ate the fruit and became sinners and rebels. That original sin corrupted humans, imperfection cannot pass on perfection.
"That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned" Romans 5:12
Sin causes death and sin is passed on through the man (that is why Jesus could be born of a imperfect human mother and still be perfect, he did not have a human father, so no sin was passed to him).
The sin was the cause, however the reason is equally important.
"At this the serpent said to the woman: “You certainly will not die. For God knows that in the very day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and bad." Genesis 3:4,5
Satan (the serpent is Satan talking see Rev 12:9) claimed that God was withholding good from them, then he claimed that they would "know good and bad" like God. So part of his lie is that people can decide good and bad, not follow God's rules but make their own. So he slandered God's motives, and implied that they would be better off on their own. That is the origin of the rebellion. It is the universal issue that all that all of this is actually about, sovereignty, the right to rule, who makes the rules or decides good and bad. It is a universal issue because the angels are also involved, up until the flood Satan tempted the angels to join him and some did. The flood was to put an end to them taking physical bodies and reproducing with the daughters of men (Gen 6:2). Those rebellious angels are called demons.
Like a court case the issue of sovereignty takes time to settle. God gave the angels time to show loyalty or rebel before the flood. Then he gave us his son and the Bible so we can understand what is going on. Then time was allowed for the nations of man to rule without interference, where every conceivable type of government has been attempted. The results of man's rulership are what you see around you, it has been an utter failure. All the suffering you see is an attempt to prove that man can figure it out without God. But it is not possible for man to rule himself successfully.
"I well know, O Jehovah, that man’s way does not belong to him. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step." Jerimiah 10:23
We are now waiting for the fulfillment of the promises. The time to prove has passed, the issue is settled and very soon God will execute justice just as he did in Noah's day. Never again will people suffer, conditions will return to what God intended from the beginning. A paradise earth forever filled with obedient happy people. No one can alter God's purpose, it was merely delayed to answer the issue, it will happen.
"Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there. But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." Psalms 37:10,11
"And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:3,4

      Why does God allow?
Answer = God has given mankind 6,000 years to Self-Govern from Adam's choice.
Mankind was given the Bible on how to stop Self-Governing choice of mankind and follow God instead but, mankind never has and thus, learning the hard way, is mankind's agenda then, stopping and listening and following God.
Once the 6,000 years is over, mankind's allowed freewill, will be removed by Jesus when he returns and Gods way will be forced upon all on the Earth for, 1k years = Mankinds Sabbath = Rest Period from mankind's childish ways.

What is this rubbish? Self govern? We ended up nearly from the start, afraid, or curious, about other gods.
That is NOT self governing. Nor were we united.
Not since Babel (if it happened) and you have no, evidence, of that, so far.
Nor of the Exodus either, at present.
And TWO PEOPLE who did NOT KNOW good from evil, or bad - is not 'mankind'.
Nor are they 'governing'. Or if they are, they are 'governing us' by one impulsive choice, unaware of stakes to others? Or that even heaven... had proven, to be less than harmonious, perfect, or fully stable? (or at least, the angelic realm)

Lately something that I’ve been doing a lot of is research into not only my own beliefs but those of others and really delving into the Bible. I was suggested this video from TH-cam and out of curiosity I clicked to watch.
I love that you started off with the example of Job and his life. But what amazes me is that as much as his story is brought up, most people seem to ignore the biggest parts of Job’s story. When reading this it not only gives us the answer to the question posed in the title of this video but, when you began to conclude by saying you don’t know the answer, nor do you think anyone else does it somewhat baffled me. Why?
To start let’s ask another question, why did Job have such things happen to him?
As you stated at the open correctly, he was a prosperous and respected man, loved and known as a faithful man of integrity. God took note of that, but so did Satan. Satan accused that the only reason that Job was so faithful was because he had been blessed and protected by God. (Job 1:9-11)
He then raised a challenge by asking the question -- would he still remain faithful if he no longer experienced all the blessings he had received. God then ALLOWED Satan to take away the blessings he had enjoyed (Job 1:12-19) But this did not result in Satan winning his challenge, and at (Job 1:22) we see that Job remained faithful despite suffering this evil that had come upon him by Satan.
At (Job 2:3-5) we see he was still faithful to God and so Satan once again raised a challenge, that Job was only faithful because of Gods protection of him.
Notably God did not cause the suffering himself*** but he allowed Satan to afflict him, and the limit he gave was that he was not to take his life. (Job 2:6)
At (Job 2:10) we see that again despite this new horrible affliction and even his wife telling him to “Curse God and die”, he remained faithful.
Many chapters later after his exchanges with those who came to see him at (Job 27:3-6) we see Jobs determination to once again, REMAIN FAITHFUL or to “keep his integrity”. Although he still needed some learning and readjustment to his thinking, which Elihu helped provide before God also spoke to him, he remained faithful and righteous. At (Job 42:12-17) we see that when God stepped in, he removed and undid the suffering Job had experienced, and even doubled all that he had had before.
Jobs example ties in with other things including Jesus life. Jesus did not only die as a ransom to save us, but the way he LIVED his life while he was here on earth proved something else. That someone who was perfect could use their free will to serve god and live their life until they die, faithfully. Jesus was also tested by Satan while on earth. (Matt. 4:1-11; Luke 4:1-13)
Through each of those challenges or tests/ temptations he quoted scripture and showed his faith in his father and God. Job was an imperfect man who was tested and challenged to remain faithful. Jesus was a perfect man who was challenged and remained faithful.
The importance of Jesus being perfect and remaining faithful is because Adam was perfect and yet when his obedience and faith were challenged, he chose to go against God. True to later form, Satan raised a similar challenge with Eve and Adam as later with Job and Jesus. Eve was told she could decide and know for herself what right and wrong was, and that god was holding something back and these challenges to give up our obedience and faith, and try to do things our way or depend on ourself instead of God is Satans whole motive to separate us. Adam messed up and Jesus had to correct that and answer Satans challenge against our faith to God, but ultimately Gods right as sovereign over all. (Romans 5:12,15,18,19) Jesus example proved that someone perfect could also make the choice to serve God and be obedient and faithful.
When he died and cried out (Matt. 27:50; Mark 15:37; Luke 23:46; John 19:30) he had accomplished what he came to do.
How does all of this answer the question of why does God allow suffering / evil/ wickedness?
Since the beginning of human history with Adam and Eve who chose not to remain obedient and faithful, Satan saw that he could drive a wedge between us and our Heavenly Father.
He accused shod of withholding something from them and also said that god was a liar. When Eve took the fruit and disobeyed God, and then Adam shared with her in this, they used their free will to decide for themselves what to do and not listen to god, therefore sin and death entered the world.
Job had his very wife and friends who should have supported him, tell him that he was to blame for his suffering and to just “curse god and die”. He chose to be faithful.
Jesus even though perfect was still human. He used his free will properly. He was tempted to satisfy himself and do what he wanted and to abuse his powers as gods son, and even to take the Kingdoms of the world and be their ruler. He even rejected it when the Jews tried to make him king and said that his “kingdom was no part of the world”. He remained obedient and faithful, taught others to look to god, teach others about him, pray for gods will to be done, and gave his life to accomplish his role in gods purpose, despite being accused of horrible things like blasphemy, and enduring being beaten and tortured, even saying “it is accomplished” when he died.
We too have free will. And just like Adam and Eve, just like Job and just like Jesus, we have choices to make.
Even those who don’t know it, if they aren’t following God then they are following Satan. But he’s not concerned with those already following him, he wants no one to serve God, he wants that worship and power for himself. So all this time where suffering has been around in the world it is ultimately a test of us as humans. God is allowing us, although imperfect to choose to follow and worship him. But being the God of love that he is just like the end of Jobs story, he promises to undo everything bad in the future. All of this answers clearly where our evil and suffering comes from, who is causing it (1 John 5:19), why it’s been allowed and what we can do about it. What a privilege we have as faithful humans to give the glory and honor and praise to God. And every time we do it’s a slap in Satans face. (Prov. 27:11) we can be an example that God uses to shut Satan up. Suffering and evil are temporary, but we can prove ourselves faithful and answer Satans challenge. We can endure and overcome the suffering by relying on god for endurance and help and working on ourselves to cultivate the fruitage of the spirit and more. And for us who are faithful and obedient we have a grand future to look forward to, promised by god and will see the fulfillment of his original purpose for humans.

      Hey Spencer,
I just wanna formerly thank you, so much for taking the time to write this comment. I’m a 17 y/o that struggles with depression that comes and goes, and as I’m writing this, I’m in one of the deepest valleys that I’ve ever been in. My faith in God is so incredibly small, because of so many unanswered questions about Christianity and its origins. These terrible, paralyzing doubts then kinda sneak their way in, doubts like, “What if Christianity was simply made up as a coping mechanism for the hopelessness that is life?” Toppled with the growing number of atheists in the U.S. where I live, who seemingly have plausible reasons for their unbelief. Then if I were to blame said doubts on the enemy, they’re immediately countered with, “well what if that’s just a lie to get you to stay a delusional Christian that only gives money to the church …” and so many other ideas to fill in that blank. It’s like every time I really try to counter these “what-ifs”, there’s no possible thing that I could remind myself of that puts these doubts to silence. It ends up being a huge circle of reminders and making the same points in my head, over and over.
      The hopelessness is crippling.
And yet, something (maybe my own desperateness) tells me there’s hope. I’ve been attempting to rely on God’s Word more and strengthen my faith in things unseen, rather than basing my belief in God on the physical, because there’s just gotta be so much more than that.
Anyways, I really just wanted to thank you for sharing this insight. It helps people more than you know. Praying that your faith keeps growing deeper

Thank you SO much for sharing! I know it can be very hard to talk about your problems at times, especially when it’s something to do with your beliefs or you have questions, concerns or doubts. There were Bible writers, prophets and others who felt like you. Look at Enoch, Moses, David, Jeremiah, David, Elijah, Peter and Job to name a few. Also just because you’re young- you may find it hard to talk to adults and family but I’ll remind you that Jesus himself was a child when he was ministering in the temple. - *Luke 2:41-50*
And also that Jesus personally invited children and young ones to come to him to learn and talk. - *Mark 10: 13-16, Matthew 18:2-5, Matthew 19:13-15, Luke 18:15-17*
The humility, mildness, and curiosity of a child, or someone who wants to know things is praised.
Also *Psalm 34:8* is a personal invitation for you to “taste and see that God is good.” You may have some questions and doubts at first, or for a while. But you get to find out what kind of God he is for yourself.
*Romans 12:2* also encourages you to “prove to yourself, or “verify”, “test”, … the will of God.” So your faith doesn’t have to be blind acceptance or mysterious. You can find out that what God says is true, and beneficial for you.
The question posed by this video is a hard hitting one because depending on how people answer - really shows the big groups we have.
Agnostics: believe that God MAY exist but just doesn’t seem to care or want to bother with us and we have no proof because he isn’t fixing the suffering and evil we see.
Atheists: claim that he CANT exist because the God that’s described in the Bible as a loving, just, caring God could in no way see what’s all going on in the world and continue to allow it. Therefore must not exist and it’s a lie. Or he’s not all powerful and CANT do anything about it even if he does exist.
Many “Christians” will say they don’t know why, or that God is “in control” and we can’t question him. He “works in mysterious ways” or that somehow he is all good and all powerful- yet he also must have created and permits evil and suffering and therefore it’s just the way things are.
Which still leaves questions honestly and is confusing.
*Revelation 12:9* - tells us that Satan/ the “great dragon” was hurled down to the vicinity of the earth.
*1 John 5:19* - tells us plain and simply that basically because of that, the “whole world is in the power of the wicked one”.
Sometimes, in fact, many times Satan (Gods enemy) IS the cause of a lot of the problems we face. He is definitely the root. *1 Peter 5:8, Revelation 12:12*
Other reasons for the different problems we face though are sometimes you can be in the wrong place at the wrong time, it just happened to be that time and place, and you were there. - *Ecclesiastes **9:11**,12*
It could simply be an accident that was no one’s fault in particular. An example in Jesus time he refers to *Luke 13:4* , where a tower fell on and killed 18 people. He said they were no more or less guilty than others.
*Proverbs 22:8, Galatians 6:7,8* - there are times where it could be a persons own fault, their own actions that get them into a particular situation. A very famous and basic principle that “you reap what you sow”.
*Ecclesiastes 8:9, 2 Timothy 3:1-5* are other examples. It be acts of evil from wicked and evil people. They have been throughout history - and in these “last days” it’s only getting worse.
We should also expect to endure some hardships and difficulties as servants of God. The road isn’t going to be easy. And if they HATED Christ, they are going to continue to hate his followers.- *John 15:20, 2 Timothy 3:12 Matthew 5:10*
And lastly just living in sin and imperfection in this world that we inherited. Sickness, death, growing old, themselves come with many pains and trials. - *Ecclesiastes **7:20**, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12-14*
These are the reasons behind the suffering and evil we face. To add to my original post about *Why God ALLOWS it all* beyond the fact that we are given a chance to prove and show our faith in him, and prove that we support his right to rule, opposite what Satan and Adam and Eve did.
God is *ALLOWING* it to go on for a short time because he has told us in his word at *Matthew 24:14, Mark 13:10, Revelation 14:6* that we must preach first before he ends it. Yes we’re dealing with a lot of problems right now BUT, he is giving everyone the chance to get to know him, and come to have faith and hear the message and repent before carrying out judgement. This is a beautiful display of his *LOVE* and *JUSTICE*
*Romans 2:4* - he is being kind.
*2 Peter 3:9* - he doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed
*Habakkuk 2:3* - when this prophet was asking God “how long” would things be allowed to be like they were, he was assured that it would stop but it’s also on Gods timetable not ours. He sees and will make the determination WHEN to stop it finally.
Keep up reading your Bible, studying, asking questions and meditating or thinking deeply about things.

@@hannahisabelle342 also I HAVE to respond to what you said about hopelessness. I can empathize with what you’re saying because when questions come up, or you feel like your problems are piling up and you can’t do anything about them, it can be frustrating and feel like a losing battle. Especially when you throw doubts and having your faith questioned.
Going back to the example of Job I think it’s fair to say few may be able to relate to the absolute despair and sorrow and depression he must have been feeling.
When you read his story just the way it all piled up on him very close together must have been extremely overwhelming. All he could do was sit in the burnt out ashes of a fire, rub them on himself and scrape himself with pieces of a broken pot. Then his “friends” turn on him and aren’t helping him at all. Before they even talk to him they get there and sit with him for days not even saying anything. Just watching him sit there helpless.
But one very important thing about Job is that he was NOT *HOPELESS* .
*Job **14:13**-15* Job had the HOPE that even if he died, God would remember him and then resurrect him.
*Hebrews 11:1* the chapter of Faith- tells us what faith is, and then provides examples of those who had faith and what it allowed them to do. Faith and hope have a VERY close relationship.
Faith is an “assured expectation, of what is *hoped* for, the evident demonstration of REALITIES that are not seen”.
In other words you could define scriptural faith as the realization that your hope is real. It’s based on evidence. Realities. These evidences and facts are recorded in the Bible and many in that very chapter for us to be reminded of. Abraham and Sarah, Moses, Noah, etc etc etc.
A prophecy about Jesus that David wrote in *Psalms 16:8-11* showed that Jesus had hope when he was on earth.
Peter talked about this again when he wrote *Acts 2:25-28*
*Romans 5:3-5* is a good reason to not feel hopeless. Yes you may deal with a lot at times BUT, enduring it builds up hope, and even says an approved condition or standing before God
*James 1:12* again the hope to receive life.
There is much more I could say but you many many scriptural reasons to keep your hope and faith alive. Just keep it real to you, no matter what you go through. The very absolute worst thing that can happen in this world is that we die, but God can undo that and resurrect us. And he has promises for the future for his faithful servants. We can have so many more reasons to be *HOPEFUL* rather than *hopeless*.

The Bible: the magical book with all the magical answers. And what is magic other than sleight of hand? Even Christians admit that anyone can get the Bible to say anything. That's why even athiests quote the Bible to disprove the Bible. If the Bible can be made to say anything, in reality it says nothing. To argue that your right hand is actually your left hand is a useless statement.

Lot of people angry at God as if all the problem in their life just go away if they become a Christian go to church, pray , read Bible, etc. etc. That's the pitfall of their own imaginary god (prosperity god). Or take the miserable victim mindset and blame God for everything happen to them. Such idea is childish and futile in thinking. A young child often angry at parents because he has to eat food instead of candy, little knowing that his idea of *good* is totally wrong. To blame God for their own problem/sin is the spirit of Cain, it leads to anger, resent and when sin takes control it gives full birth to death.

      ((Long Post))
This is my own explanation when someone asks me about why God allows Evil. We cannot comprehend what He thinks, and it’s foolish to try. We are not God, we cannot know why He does the things he does, nor why he allows what we perceive as Evil to occur.
Let’s look at the Beggar living in the streets for a moment. He’s been homeless for 5 years now. During those first 2, times were desperate and horrifying, to say the least. But by year 3, he started to understand the ways of street life and by year 5 he had come to accept his Life. He no longer craved the instant pleasures of Society, he no longer cared to own a big house just to flash his junk at people and say “Look how much money I make?”
All he wants is to just live and let live, and be happy with the life he now chooses. He doesn’t harm anyone, he doesn’t cause issues. He just doesn’t care for the fast-paced stress of the day-to-day societal pressures of working to buy a house and a car, to go out with friends and party, etc.
On the streets. He is happy, Life moves a lot slower and he can truly appreciate the beauty in the smallest of things, like how devout an ant can be to building its colony and protecting its queen, or how wonderful the changing of the seasons are when you’re outside every single day with nothing but time to witness the world.
And because of this, he has found the true meaning of Life itself. And Jesus said, “Blessed are the ones who have suffered, for they have find Life.”
      .
Now let’s look at the man who was born into the highest possible class of his society one could hope to attain. From the moment he was born, he has been given absolutely everything; And until the day he dies, he will never have to work or worry about money because he has millions that were gifted to him by his family waiting for him on the day he turns 18.
He spends his entire life getting every single possible item he could want, he never has to choose because why choose when money solves everything? He travels the entire world hundreds of times before he’s even in high school because he was home schooled by the best private Teachers money can buy.
When he turns 18, he is no longer shielded by his parents and has to make all of his financial decisions on his own. Not wanting to give up the lifestyle he knows, he blows through $15 Million USD by the time he turns 25, and then begs his family to give him more.
They say, “How could you possibly have blown through all of that money? Why didn’t you invest? Why didn’t you start a business or something? Why didn’t you grow your portfolio?”
But that’s because he never took business classes, he never took financial courses, he never had a need to do such a thing. His family assumed he’d watch their success as he grew up and just magically become successful on his own.
Now he’s broke and he’s desperate to continue the only life he’s ever known, but he has no money and his family refuses to give him any more aid as an adult; But yet, he’s never worked a single day in his life at anything even remotely considered a Job.
Because of this, he knows nothing but suffering. He becomes depressed, he turns to drug use to numb the pain, he refuses to get a job and actually work toward attaining the social status he once had by his own volition and hard work.
      .
Unfortunately, we have to understand what evil and suffering is in some capacity if we wish to know what true Good and Peace are. Many would kill to have what the second man in this Hypothetical scenario had, but being the person born into that situation; He has no understanding of true suffering.
He never knew what it was like to be denied a $1 million dollar car for his 15th birthday, much less what it’s like to have 3 children with a partner who abandoned you, and now you have to work 2 jobs during the week and a 3rd job on the weekend just to keep your children alive. Yet, because you are trying so hard to put food on the table, you never have a chance to actually spend time with your kids when they’re kids and suddenly they’re adults who hate you because they think you were cold and distant in their childhood.
They don’t know what it’s like to have to wonder if you’re going to lose power to your entire neighborhood for an unknown period of time because some drunk idiot smashed into a light pole, but because you live in such an impoverished area, it takes over a week for them to actually come and fix it.
They don’t know what it’s like to grow up in an Orphanage wondering if you’ll die from the cold, or from starvation, or from sheer neglect at any moment because there are only 2 adults looking after a group of 100 children stuffed into a small building.

And a simple yes/no moral question: _Is the man who let a child needlessly die evil?_

      There are two ways to answer the question;
One is for someone who is suffering, where no logical explanation is going to help them. Like telling someone who is upset to "calm down", you can demonstrate to them at length the benefits of "calming down" that is not going to help.
Like the fellow above, usually the best thing to do is not even try to answer but suffer with them to help them through it.
      The other is for people who are curious and are academic or theoretical;
A better question is "why is there Good?" What even is "Good"? If we were all fish-people-apes on a random ball of dirt as the result of cosmic coincidence whose very mindsets were shaped by survival, then we can't trust anyone to even have a reliable answer for anything. All "truth" is simply the most useful thing to think at the time.
This is classically known as "Sophistry'.
The opposite is to be principled. To have specific distinct beliefs in universal truths that exist regardless of who is observing them or what their take on that truth is. To define "good" and "evil" in any meaningful way, there must be a God who is morally perfect thus creating the moral principles that make up "Good".
If God is Good, then lack of God is not good, or the opposite of God, which is Evil.
Evil exists as separation from God. The shadow cast by the light. When Adam and Eve sinned against God, it wasn't simply not following God's instruction, but defining for themselves "Good" and "Evil" as apart from God.
Look around the world. How much evil in the world is caused by people's subjective interpretation of "Good"?
How much better would the world be if we all followed the Objective incarnation of Good, Christ?
"Why all the Evil" we only need look in a mirror. If you wonder why God allows it to continue is the same as asking why he allows US to continue. If God snapped his fingers and removed every Evil thing from the world, it would be again a empty ball of dirt.

I still think there are three types of "bad things" that are allowed to happen. One is the natural order that is uncomfortable for us, the second is the effects of our (as a cillective human conciousness) actions, and the third is psychosis, one that is bad because we insist to interpret it as bad.

Psychosis steals lives, minds, goals, families in a single day. The same way there is nothing good about walking through life drunk. Or high. Or ignorant.

As a Christian myself with struggling faith, it is not about the fact that evil happens, it's rather that he is seemingly nowhere in our struggles and suffering. Love requires action. Where is his helping hand?
While I will never be able to prove his involvement anywhere, I do believe that "Serendipity" is usually indicator of his involvement.
For example, miracles check for a single mother's when she needs it the most, maybe beating cancer, etc.
My doubt rather comes at the perceived lack of his involvement, because I can never know the full story of who he helps and how, however I ask myself what distinguishes me from other's tragedies happening to me? Am I special? I don't believe so. I believe he values us equally.
However, I am a sinner just like those that experience tragedy, likely worse, however I haven't experienced their tragedy.
Before I used to be a devout Christian, but after an incident with suffering I believe he could've helped me in, it truly rocked my faith as a man in his 20s, because I was devout to him even in pain, hoping I'd be able to see his help.
I don't know how my story might play out, but i don't plan to respond with more sinful attitude.
However, that doesn't mean that I don't consider him like a missing father. I still struggle so hard with this. A child may not know why the darkness is there and still trust their parent will handle it, but why wouldn’t that parent just remove the darkness/danger/threat in the first place?? I keep wanting to just let this go but my heart hurts too much about this topic. As a parent, I’d simply remove the bad situation my child was in. Yes I may not have control of their lives and situations but I’m not an all-knowing, all-powerful God. I didn’t determine the measures of the universe or any of those awesome things, but an awesome creator like that left us to suffer without answers. You said it yourself with Job: He never answered the question. Why???? Job, his most loyal and model servant, who was the subject of what was basically a bet between satan and God. Why couldn’t he just get an ANSWER?? Why not just answer the question to the servants who praise and worship you without fail like Job?? A parent would never let their child suffer if they could stop it. A parent could at least tell their child why suffering is required for whatever grandiose plan is in the timeless future. I’m just tired of this.

man my whole life I wanted a brother and God gave me one about 6 years ago. but he was born with a small deformation on his heart, of course we tried our best but he didnt survive he died when he was about 1 year old. I was really sad because I wanteda brother so much and when I finally got one he died without me being able to even see him going to school for the first time. and I asked my self why was it not me instead of him, I was about 8 or 9 but I had already lived a good life. but one thing that always conforted me was that God was the one who did it. God did what he said he would do, but that was not his plan. now I have a 5 year old little sister that is a bless. One thing that I noticed after all that is that, How am I supossed to get mad at something that is not mine? Because I cant create life nor end it, but God can and he got all the right to do whatever he think is right. anyways what I mean is you cant feel mad nor sad at something that was never yours because what God gives he take it back whenever he wants becasue its his.

I just choose to respond to the horrible aspects in life with love and passion, because hate and blame won't make anything better nor fix anything but love will demish either your own self inflicted wounds or someone else's scars

This video for me shows how even if there is a god, he doesn’t care about us. When Job questioned him, for me god didn’t reply with a “trust me” but with a “you are too weak to do anything about it”, he didn’t assure it was for a cause, he didn’t demonstrate why he should be trusted, he just told Job everything he did and asked him if he had the power to do it, he was mocking him, questioning how he planned to change things. When Christ was questioned and faced with the consequences of evil, he didn’t say a thing, he showed love but the thing is it didn’t change a thing, evil will still exist.

God's sermon to job isn't a mockery, but a humbling of him: He who has the wisdom to order the world and is all-good allowed this to happen for a reason, and what can you do besides trust that reason, and stick to your values and principles?

..this video infuriates me to no end, but i will try to express myself as best I can.
Of course evil is not something that can or should be snapped away. With free will we can be happy the way we choose. But the reason why society has laws is because not everyone will use that free will for good. Some people use it to take free will from others, myself included in those victims. I don’t ask for evil to be destroyed, i ask to be protected. Or at the absolute least, given more than just a “well you just have to believe he knows what he’s doing.” I hardly know he does, he might have created a universe, but that does not mean he was any good at it, there is such a thing at being too hands off, inactive. When left without a guiding hand, no matter how gentle the guide, eventually some will cause havoc, cause suffering. And when that happens, undeniably it is their own fault. That choice is theirs. But when a god with the power to stop and protect, who is supposed to be a source of comfort, stands idly by and watches, that blood is on his hands too. Perhaps he gives them a happy life afterward. But to what end? Is it just luck? Do some just get unlucky? That god has to just say “here’s your consolation prize for getting a bad roll, sorry.” THERE HAVE BEEN THOUSANDS OF GODS WORSHIPPED. Now, i won’t go into why I find it fucked up if someone believes that you’d go to hell just because you don’t believe, which basically amounts to the lottery, and if you lose you suffer forever (pretty evil and horrible in my eyes). But I will say that if you’re remaining so unknown and mysterious to your people that you will make suffer for not believing in you, if you’re so unknown they start coming up with OTHER GODS, that should be a telltale sign to be more direct.
I understand that we must stand and resist evil. I learned that lesson the hard way, but the existence of a god does not change that lesson. No matter whether there is a god or not, we have to resist evil. His existence or lack thereof is pretty irrelevant to that. Sure, Jesus may serve as a figure to base that off of, but its not impossible for humans to come to that conclusion on their own.
All this said, I cannot in good conscience respect, let alone trust a god that has demonstrated complete lack of action and care for myself and so many people who can’t or couldn’t take that action themselves. I got free from my suffering by my own fortitude, none thanks to him. I asked for help and reassurance, for strength to push on, I received nothing, so I held it in my heart I was either not loved by god, or he didn’t exist, and made my own strength.
This has been a frustrated rant, but what I’m trying to say is that I feel as though even the slightest direct action when a small child with no agency of his own is begging for any assistance at all to the god he was told is a source of salvation isn’t too much to ask for. I am told so often to seek god out for strength, yet when I did, I was hung out to dry. That among many reasons is why I do not ever see myself believing in god wholeheartedly. Even if I could, and even if I arrive at those gates to be judged, my opinions won’t change. The pain I endured wasn’t worth the rewards, and I cannot forgive someone that willingly allowed those events to play out how they did.

I agree… I have been going through so much in my life to the point where I cannot remember the last time I was happy. Like truly happy… I used to believe in God but I don’t think I’m going to anymore because I have called and cried out to him multiple times and have heard nothing. I tried living a righteous life hoping I could hear from him, and nothing. Everytime I think the things that are causing me to suffer, are going to go away something else happens… I don’t wanna go into detail but man… it sucks when I’m living a suffering life and I call unto “god” and I hear nothing. I tried reading and understanding the Bible but I’m starting to see that “god” doesn’t keep his word at all… he says that he will be with us in times of distress and he will not leave us comfortless but I have been so lonely for years now… and I have been asking questions like “why do you make us suffer God” and just like the video says, God doesn’t give us an answer which is pretty fucked up. Because I can’t just keep living this shitty ass life with no answers or insight that it will get better.
Moral of that I’m trying to say is, I agree with everything you said. You made valid points. I’m done believing in this “god” 💯💯

    Wonderful video!
I like to believe that everything happens for a purpose, and that there is an inert limit to knowledge that we have to truly answer this question.
One of the reasons why suffering exists in the world is so that we can fulfill our purpose - to do fruitful work and attempt to fix them.
“if more is given, more is expected”
And everything that we have is not ours - it belongs to the universe. We only have what we have, know what we know, and are able to do what we do because of the specific circumatances the universe put us in (of which we cannot control). That in itself is already a reason to be thankful and to believe.

@@raabbat Depends on "whose" agenda the parents are following. If a parent was secular and lacks belief, there won't be any comfort or releif available, but there are some ppl out there who have experienced this pain and say "for God's glory we will still believe and press on through this, the 3 years we spent with God's gift to us (Sophie) has changed our lives forever, GOD IS AMAZING STILL" and these same ppl have lived to go on and affect change and help others during their grief and have been able to touch others lives who have lost loved ones. The hope they carry...to see them in person....their testimony is amazing, to think they could change the trajectory of someone who has been strung out on drugs with just a smile and good conversation...truly that kind of God given love justifies the existence of Jesus enough to have made me want to believe. Let's be careful of our assumptions, when it comes to these things, as human beings, individuals at large we are still very ignorant to the needs of our next door neighbour and honestly to claim that we are sooooo good and sooooo entitled to wanna hold God on trial doesn't make us look good. We really should like Job, and be quiet. And do something about the pain we notice, with God's help.

My reply relates to the commenter saying ...."One of the reasons why suffering exists in the world is so that we can fulfill our purpose - to do fruitful work and attempt to fix them." Also to your statement: "Depends on "whose" agenda the parents are following." Suffering affects us all. In and of itself, suffering is not something a God of Love and Life desires for us, secular or otherwise. A believer may more easily find solace in knowing the Good News, for sure. But to say that suffering EXISTS TO teach humanity a lesson is not a good nor "true" agenda.

I guess this is a sufficient answer for someone who believes in god and is too afraid of hell to admit he's imaginary. But once you realize there simply is no god, this answer is just the same thing a politician does when he gets asked a tough question.
Also, didn't satan, like, call god and tell him "hey god, your Job ain't sht" and god just accepted the bet, and made Job's life into hell, only to narcissistically berate him, once he asks him "wtf man?"
Now that I think of it, this video isn't genuine, because God was playing some sick games in Job's story. And he didn't even have the balls to tell Job that he murdered his family over a freaking BET.
