Which version do you like more? DS, Mobile or Switch gameplay?

I'd say that the DS version is the most balanced and complete. The mobile version was a decent compromise, but several enemies have been made a bit easier or harder and a few bosses have been made absurdly annoying due to how the developers tried to adapt dual screen content.
The switch gameplay is mostly the same as the mobile, though the co-op mode does allow for more options. These do sometimes help compensate for the more annoying bosses, but the result is typically a battle that is far easier than it should be.

@@elliotlevy8610 Yeeaaah I like the final remix gameplay but the DS one def has more tension with having two ppl to fight with.

@@oluvids I've played the mobile and original myself, and my biggest complaint was the Pterupus Canor battle. On top of forcing you to use Neku and Beat separately, which contradicts the whole remix gameplay premise, it had you using Beat, a character you can't fully control, in a scenario that calls either for precise targeting or at the very least area of effect attacks. Since Beat uses randomized targeting in the mobile version and solo play on the switch, the battle is worse than a pain. Co-op is really the only way to fight that battle outside of the original game.

    • @oluvids
      @oluvids  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Oh yeah having to keep using beat to try to kill those smaller bats effectively is kinda annoying honestly. And then beat has cooldown so you'll just be running around as neku waiting for beat to be ready again

I only have the mobile version, but luckily I'll be getting a Switch before the year ends. I'll definitely get Final Remix. After playing it, I might come back here, and tell my preference.

I just finished the main story on the DS version. The whole game wasn't very enjoyable because the gameplay felt too demanding, making me play two characters at once while being expected to not die.
I could barely beat the final boss with the drop rate turned all the way down and the difficulty set to easy.
Also I don't think I ever unlocked more than 4 pin slots but I saw walkthroughs where people had way more. Either I wasn't told how to get more slots or I forgot about it because of how much tutorial you're given in raw text form in the beginning.
The only reason I played through it was because I heard the story was good. I think it was ok overall. The setting and the vibe was cool but it got old after the first week and the vocals in every song made it hard to focus on the dialogue sometimes.

    • @oluvids

So in terms of pin slots and higher level fusions, you can get em by going to shops. You'll trade in things like scarletite to get more slots, higher fusions or general stat buffs. It's a lot to take in, I get that. I didn't fully get it till my second playthrough. In terms of the 2 partner thing, it helps to have it so that the ai kicks in quickly so you can focus on neku more. I mainly used the top when I wanna build for a fusion
edit: if you ever are willing to give twewy another go, the mobile and switch version has you play as neku, and the partner is an assist instead of a second party member

I got better at the game when I realized I shouldn't focus on Neku, but at his partner. Even though the game gives you more control over Neku with the option to automate his partner, that's a deceptive system. Especially in later fights when the game becomes aggressive against the partner (I struggled so much against Uzaki because her bullets combo'ed my partner into pieces while Neku was just chilling down there)
What you can do is equip pins that you think you can use without looking at the lower screen, like the bullet pins and dash pins. So you can subconsciously move Neku and attack while you focus on your partner. Neku only needs you to move the stylus in the relative correct direction, while your partner needs you to time your dodge, select the right path of cards and memorize their location, they are the main focus.

Approved. Very simple video but i dont think beginners need much else. I just want to stress how good the puck is. Pass it. Use strong hits with it. Sell your soul to it. Buy clothes to make it start at higher power, and pass faster. The faster you pass it back, the higher the multiplier. The higher your sync rate (raised through food), the larger the window to pass the puck and get higher bonuses (going down from +0,5,+0,2,+0,1 +0,-1, the maximum multiplier being ×5 and the minimum being ×2). If you want more detailed advice, or fight-specific information, feel free to ask me, or you can just find videos on my channel of (almost) each boss fight being done without getting hit, usually with an explanation in thr description (but you'll likely get spoiled if you just scroll through the video list, i've mostly been posting endgame content)

Have you tried to emu the ds version? Connect a Bluetooth controller and you have co-op! One person controls Neku with the touch controls, and the other controls his partner with the controller

I haven't done it myself, but there is ALOT that goes into getting and evolving every pin! Not all of them evolve just by getting xp so you'll need to figure out the conditions for em. Also you'll need to get allt he materials for synthesis and stuff like that along with getting all the noise entries and their drops. The base game is in the 20 ish hours but if you wanna do all of the content it'll def be a big mission
