This is the only video that demonstrates every step of assembly, showing from all angles, complete with part names. I appreciate that you have NOT assumed we know certain things and skipped ahead. There are those of us that need to be taken by the hand like a baby. Thank you so much for this video.

The metal plates are to protect the rubber end caps from damage with the sharp stabilizer edge. Similar to that of a cookie-cutter form pressing through dough, the stabilizer arms would press through the rubber end cap fairly quickly without the bowed out end plates.

@@DIYPowerCouple you’re quite welcome. Of course if someone happened to lose those plates and/or the rubber end caps, you can always use the bottom rubber soles of an old pair of sneakers and some duct tape to accomplish the same goal of protecting your roof from those sharp metal edges. :)

The metal plates prevent the rubber cup from being cut through by the edge of the square tube when weight is being applied.

Easy on and off compared to a U-bar with U-bolts. Will fit on doubled section. Ties up rungs as treads!

Thank You!!! I was just cruising You Tube looking for ladder safety before we go up on the roof. This item will be extra useful because we both feel a little unsteady on extension ladder, so I'm glad to get your perspective on how well it works. I have subscribed since I feel like you are my people and we also enjoy being a DIY couple (despite the occasional disagreement about process). Looking forward to watching more.

I recently ordered and got one after seeing your video. I haven’t used it yet but I tested putting it on my ladder. It snaps on easy and will make my ladder much safer. Thanks for the video! Those metal plates go on before the rubber pads to keep the sharp edges of the arms from breaking through.

Replace the end caps with bright green (highly visible) tennis balls by cutting them and then use Gorilla duct tape to secure them to the aluminum end. Original caps will be cut through by the stabilizer ends in a short time of use. Tennis balls are popular with clients and will last over a year or longer.

They attached it to the top 2 wrongs if your feet reach the top 2 rungs tripping on that is the least of your worries. You shouldn’t be on a ladder to begin with.
