    This is exactly why I bought this stabilizer for my 20' Werner extension ladder. My house is only 1 story but I have been a bit nervous to set it up to clean my gutters, especially on the walk-out basement side of my house. This definitely cleared things up and gave me the confidence to go do it! wish me luck lol

    My guy ! I’m here in Lowe’s with both in my cart wondering if they’re compatible. You’re the man, no diddy.

    This is excalty the video I needed for the new ladder I just purchased and you are 100 percent correct in your placement of the ladder, it's not supposed to lean on the gutters as it would damage them!!

    Was looking at this but Werner specifically says it not to be used on the multi-ladder. Glad I found this video

    I have a 17' Vulcan multi ladder, heavy as heck, and had to run out today looking for a standoff. Lowe's had one of these and I snagged the last one. You're right, they do fit on these types of ladders even though the safety sticker on the ladders caution against using standoffs. I know it may be foolhardy to people to bypass these cautions but hell a ladder is dangerous in and of itself. I had to have one, this Vulcan is the only ladder I have to install my gutter guards, so I'm siding with you here. The Werner fits secure, just like you showed it being put on. And with mine, even that top locking clasp snaps in place under that first rung. I just had to give it a solid whack with the palm of my hand. I tested it and everything works just fine, so looks like I'll be getting these guards put on my gutters this evening after it cools down outside! Thanks for making this video, brother.
    Update: the standoff proved dangerous for use with the Vulcan (derp), me almost taking a spill because the little pin bent out of shape due to the weight... so I now own a 20ft Werner aluminum ladder with this standoff attached, per specs. Oh, and I repaired the pin. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS STANDOFF WITH MULTI LADDERS. TAKE THE COMPANY'S WARNINGS SERIOUSLY!

    02:42 that is supposed to lock it in place on ladders that this is supposed to be designed for. Otherwise your only locking mechanism is that little pin at the bottom. If you're comfortable with that, then do this at your own risk.

      I was trying it yesterday on my 22' gorilla. Seems tough to fit it on correctly, I was literally kicking it into place (rubber mallet would be better). I've seen videos where it's way easier to put on a regular extension ladder; you can do it with one hand.

    Thanks for the video. I have both a werner and a little giant ladder. I was wondering if this would work on both. And, you're correct, that roof really needs replaced.

      I’m glad I could confirm this for you. I have had a lot of questions on how to put the stabilizer on these types of ladders. Yes, this roof is really bad.

    what if there is only 3.5 feet of space to put the ladder on the 20 ft house is it still safe to use the ladder because of the wooden fence

  • @AlexanderTheGreat91
    @AlexanderTheGreat91 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Does it have to go on the top rung or can it be positioned a few lower to allow roof access?

    • @LansingLawnServiceLLC
      @LansingLawnServiceLLC  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It can be positioned wherever you want it, however you will have to extend the land so that the rungs you are putting it on are not obstructed by other rungs.

    I have this exact same attachment though, once attached, it can still easily move from side to side. So, I can't safely use it. I'm using a Werner ladder (like the one you have in this video) and the attachment is also Werner so don't know what's going on.

  • @meGallons
    @meGallons 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Why does Werner say it’s not for use on multi position ladders?

  • @moonwalker8172
    @moonwalker8172 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    It won’t work on a little giant 26 foot. Ladder wrung is too far outside ladder frame. It also won’t work on most 14 to 18 foot newer multi ladders that have metal braces on the first step. You can flip the entire slide around and put the stabilizer on the second step, however I don’t recommend it since the rungs will be on the wrong side and braces may become tripping hazards.
