I have this filter and I can confirm that it is amazing, without color cast, and very useful.Fantastic built quality too.
Glad you like it!👍👍
Bro i like to buy this filter, but i have to stack mist filter tooo, so Is there a thread to attach another filter to this?
@@sibinsamraj hi, yes there is a thread to put another filter on.
@@sibinsamraj i have 67 mm, and the front thread is for 72 mm.
@@nicolamiettayou stack the Nd on top of the 67mm mist?
Just bought this in an 82mm for use with both my Sigma 24-70 F/2.8 Art (82mm) and my new Sony 16-35 F/4 PZ (72mm) and plan to use step-up rings for the Sony. I saw anything wider than 16mm would cause issues where the lens sees the actual filter's edges, so hopefully I'm safe!
EDIT: There are no issues seeing the edges of the filter with step-up rings to an 82mm filter on a 72mm lens in the following scenario: Using the Sony 16-35 F/4 PZ + 72mm - 77mm step-up ring + 77mm to 82mm step-up ring. However, worth noting: If you are using a UV filter on your lens, you will need to take it off. I mainly have the Hoya 72mm NXT Plus UV HMC UV filter on my lens at all times. Using a UV filter between your lens + 2 step-up rings + the filter causes Vignetting around the edges at 16mm. It completely goes away however around 18-20mm.
3 to 7 stops is also so useful! - 2-5 stops is just a bit too little in sunlight but 6-9 stops is a bit too strong so you keep changing between them, this should be a good middle ground - waiting for mine to arrive :)
Hope you enjoy it! 👍
super helpful 🙌 thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
This filter is amazing! I use it in Samsung A54 to shoot landscape it gives consistent performance, the durabilty is also rigid!
Its a bang for a buck! 👍🏻
Are you able to stack another filter (ex. pro mist) on top of the 2-in-1 VND/ CPL filter? Great video!
Yes, it has a front thread. However, whatever you want to put on the front needs to be one size larger than the filter. So if you have a 77mm Haida CPL-VND Pro II, the other filter has to have an 82mm thread.
Awesome, thanks for replying! :)
I was also curious about this as I already own a 77mm mist filter. So I won’t be able to use my current filter with this Haida one?
If you add an IR cut filter, does that go on top of the Haida or does it go closer to the camera lens? Which do you stack first?
Highly recommended Haida 2 in one CPL-VND 3-7 stops filter. It my go-to filter for video and even stills.
Could it stack with 1 black mist filter ?
@leduy4764 Unfortunately, no. There's no external thread on the front.
Yess i put mine between my lens and my haida vnd
When you use this filter, can you still keep the lens hood on?
Thank you for your excellent content :) How can I mount this filter onto a smartphone?
Does not having hard stops pose a problem?
(I’m very new to cameras so idk if it causes some weird artifacts if ur not at an exact “stop”)
It has hard stops. Not having hard stops creates weird color cast or artifacts.
Is jt better then the k and f one i got on Amazon

Yes, it has a front thread. However, whatever you want to put on the front needs to be one size larger than the filter. So if you have a 77mm Haida CPL-VND Pro II, the other filter has to have an 82mm thread.
Is there any available cover for this like a lens cover?
You may have just sold me on this. Thanks!
Hope you enjoy it!
hola una consulta tengo lentes Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS es compatible para el filtro freewell ?
how is the ghosting and lensflare? I noticed huge differences between different variable nd-filters in this regard. I wish so deeply reviewers would test for this.
Nice video. I’m in the market for buying an ND filter. I’m thinking of Haida and Tiffen variable ND filter. In your opinion, which one is better? Thanks in advance.
Do it reduce sharpness because of Two filters
Can you mount another filter above it ?
Does it have threads to use an additional filter on the front of it? I use a Desiview teleprompter that mounts via a filter ring.
Was wondering that as well...too bad the system is not magnetic..think going forward most companies..magnetic should be a standard now..no one wants to waste time turning the filter thread anymore..lol
it does just saw a review on amazon about it
It does have a front thread. However, whatever you want to put on the front needs to be one size larger than the filter. So if you have a 77mm Haida CPL-VND Pro II, the other thing has to be 82mm thread.
You’ve definitely sold me on this filter!
But here comes my confusion, I use my phone (iPhone 14 pro) to capture anything I do. I am planning on getting a moment 67mm Phone Filter Mount, will I be able to mount the 67mm variant of this filter on the filter mount?
Any info helps!
If that filter mount has a 67mm thread then any 67mm filter would fit yes
Im gonna be taking pictures at the beach in very bright/harsh sun light... first is this recommended for bright sunny day beach shots and if so could it work with the sigma 56mm 1.4 and how? Im super new and dont even know how these things mount 😅😢😢😢
Yes this will work for that for sure 👍
How to control the CPL filter in this?
thanks for this, really well made video
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
When you use this filter, can you still keep the lens hood on?
No, like with pretty much any filter, you can't
GREAT REVIEW!
Thanks 👍
Can a pro mist filter be used with the haida filter?
Yes, it has a front thread. However, whatever you want to put on the front needs to be one size larger than the filter. So if you have a 77mm Haida CPL-VND Pro II, the other filter has to have an 82mm thread.
@@SightseeingStan okay understood
thank you
Hi there, great video. Very well explained. One thing came to mind while watching, does it have a front filter thread and hard stops?
Thanks! Yes it has a front thread. However, whatever you want to put on the front needs to be one size larger than the filter. So if you have a 77mm Haida CPL-VND Pro II, the other thing has to be 82mm thread. It does have hard stops!
@@SightseeingStan Thanks man, just bought one.
@@smartideas-pedro1690 Cool! I hope you enjoy it!
Sorry it actually does have hard stops!
@@SightseeingStan this is so helpful, so the front thread can hold a teleprompter as an example?
can 77mm can used on cine lens 82mm filter sizes
how is the color correction using this filter in yor experience? does not seem to have a lot of color casting.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Andres, I hardly noticed any color casting with the filter, as you can see in the examples in the video
@@SightseeingStan I noticed! pretty cool!
Great review. Many thanks!
❤ loved ur explanation
Glad you liked it
Hi, can you do a test with f1.4 - ISO 800 - S.S 50 in bright sunlight?
I have a fujinon 18-55 zoom lens, with a 58mm thread. Can someone help me find a step-down ring that will fit both this head filter and my lens?
Is 82 mm filter available I found only 77 mm
What’s Up Stan,
Im Not Educated At All On Filters… However, All My Video Content I Record Outdoords… I’m Looking For A Good VIR- ND Filter And A Polarized Lens Filter … I’m Working With A Sony A6600 My Lenses Are:
Sony E16-55mm 2.8 And Sony E15mm F1.4..
Thank You…
Wish they would have made a 95mm version.
😮Subscribed
Thanks for that!
Just change the ISO?
Do you mean when shooting S Log? The base ISO is 800, it doesnt go any lower.
No I mean ISO. What camera are you using that 800 is the lowest you can go!?!?
@@DinkyDingusIt is a result of shooting s-log on Sony or c-log on Canon. You get the better video, but as a result it kicks the base ISO up to 800. The cameras themselves have a lower base ISO, it only changes to 800 when shooting said video types.
Thank you!
Welcome!
wow looks similar to my kase nd filter
The Kase has a VND and CP all in one?..
The problem with VNDs is that while you can control the amount of light passing through but not the plane, which is the usual task of a CPL. Or so I say... I'd be glad to be proven wrong. Because that's why I don't use VNDs, which are otherwise really practical.
Hi, can you explain a little more?
@@la8920 A VND is made of two polarizing filters which, turned at right angles, should theoretically block all light, because light swings in all directions. (No pol filter is 100% perfect, so a little light will seep through.) Now, a single pol filter is used to control reflections from non-metallic surfaces, which swing in one direction only. That would be glass, water, leaves etc. If I use two of them, then I lose control of that direction, because one of them might be in the desired position, but the other direction will be determined by the amount of light passing, not by the plane of the unwanted reflections. And the task of a neutral filter has nothing to do with reflections, anyway. HTH.
Well there goes $100
✌....
This is extremely misleading. I just purchased this and DO NOT WASTE THE $100. If you care about your gear, just pay for an actual company not run my a bunch of wannabe influencers
Can you explain why?
Its an affiliate link. All that happens is that he gets a commission, a small one at that. I do not see the problem at all. You are just being a total Karen.
Scam on all over TH-cam
Can you please keep your hands calm the next time instead of repeating the same gesture for 8 minutes? 😂
I used Haida before, but now I feel good using kase magnetic filter since I broke Haida one. traditional filters is very easy to fall from hilltop.
The Kase has a VND and CP all in one?...yeah this Haida is not magnetic..kinda disappointing and maybe not even worth trying?..I would definitely pay a little more for the convenience of a magnetic system..
