I'm happy to see you made it through that expedition with all limbs intact, all be it bruised. Lol. I grew up on a large farm in NW Arkansas and had very little money. I spent a lot of time scavenging for parts to keep our vehicles moving down the road. I guess it's the grace of God that guys like us are still breathing and can still count to ten if you know what I mean. Stay safe brother. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
The broke farm life lol.. still wouldn't want it any other way I learned to do a lot with vehicles and stuff like tailgate rebuild starters and hei gm distributors and disassemble them and change the pickup coil and the distributor gear and shim and put the distributor back together.
It’s amazing how much work a Tennessee boy will put into getting some old parts I should know Been doing the same thing in Tennessee for most of my life. Keep up the good work I love watching the videos
If you have to cut that one stubborn bolt put on the socket that fits. Use it as a guide to drill a hole in the bolt to make it thinner, then hit it with a LENOX Armor Curved Bi-Metal Metal Cutting Reciprocating Saw Blade.
An actual scene worth framing! A shady spot with a little breeze, to keep the 'skeeters and no-see ums away. Easy to work on 'work like a gentleman! And having as much fun as a feller can standing up !! Addicted viewer!
Man there's some really really cool vehicles out there. Would make some really fun and cool will it run videos. That ford econoline van and that wagon would both make really cool videos.
I had a tech put a new tire on my bucket truck out in the field. He was a younger guy but had skills beyond his age, did it all with long irons and leverage, probably faster than using a machine, all the while having a conversation with me. I was impressed.
Feel your pain pops. Can not even count how many times something slipped off and crunched, smashed, pinched, or whacked my fingers. Keep up the great work and I will keep on watching
Man I felt every one of those sudden impact encounters with those old parts! I know your disclaimer says DON'T DO WHAT I DO! Why didn't you just roll her over too and bring the Gas/Axe out? Gotta take my hat's off to your persistence! I'm that way myself! 32 years of heavy industrial steam fitting has taken it toll! Neck, rotator cups, wrists, hips, knees, got a good back though LOL! My Dad use to say to me "Boy, you could wear out an anvil with a fly swatter!"
You have the patience of Job, Your bent on self destruction but you get up dust yourself off and get right back at it.. Thats how things get done!!! Looking forward to your next video . Stu from Canada,,,,,,
For stuck bolts, use a penetrating oil, and then also use a torch to expand the metal and break the fusion of metal, however a great forest fire hazard!
It's a shame about the glass on the wagon. Those Fairmonts have a pretty big following now. Would be cool to see her old car back in the road. Little turbo charged LS in it haha
If the main leaf on "Lockjaw" is intact, just take the spring packs apart, use the main leaves from LJ and the remainder of the pack from the red truck.
Glad the spring incident wasn't much worse Chad! 😮 It's a shame about the front tire! Glad you could still remove the parts you needed. Take care and be safe when you're out wrenching on things 🔧
Every pop and cracking sound I heard, I just knew that window was toast. Those old curved glasses can be quite tricky to get out sometimes! Again, another great video and I'm already ready for the next one!
You sure took a good beatin gettin those leaf springs buddy!!! I hope you have some Geritol back at the house!!! Hope your ok young man!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
I'm HURTING SO BAD RIGHT NOW TOO!! FROM LAUGHING AT YOU AND THOSE SPRING'S!! I FEEL YOUR PAIN! BEEN THERE DONE THAT! BUT I DIDN'T HAVE A CAMERA FILMING ME! I know that hurt both times! When the pull handle let go and you rammed the ground with your hand,,and when the spring let LOOSE AND THREW YOU BACKWARDS! You held your COOL BOTH TIMES AND KEPT YOUR WORDS CLEAN! THAT'S HARD TO DO!!
Nice to get that 9 inch rear end. LTD's are great for parts to go onto older Galaxies, Fairlanes and so on. If there's disco brakes left on the front end of that LTD they'll be a direct swap onto that 64 wagon you have [or Galaxy 64 if you have one]. Same goes for a Gran Torino or Galaxy of that 70's era. Be cool to make a jig for bending up tube control arms of that era of front end as well [you have a tube bender right? Thought I saw one]. Cool video sir. Love the content. All great stuff to watch 🙂
Metal on metal is fairly slick mating surface bub... I wish you would throw a log or old wheel under there with you that way if one of those jacks stands slipped it might keep from crushing ya... Just an old Trick Daddy told me when I was a kid
You really amaze me I love watching you pull parts off of old Vehicles it's like damn if you do and damn if you don't but you seem to always get the part that you want Kudos to you. So very glad that you did not break your foot your foot but I'm sure you're gonna be extremely sore for a while
been working as a car mechanic here in germany for 25 years, and ym fingers show the telltale signs of it... cuts, bruises, even burns. so, I feel you. XD dunno about that Country Squire, if the black looks better than the light blue, somehow both are fine. I'd still grab that rooftop, and as much trim as I could get off the wreck in one piece, because those pieces are the most expensive. and with the rooftop you could repair the others'. I also like your "a shame to throw away" attitude. :) you never know who would need that part. :) and that gear is clearly off a 1ton truck, judging by the weight. XD
Hey Chad, hard work never killed anyone - just a leaf spring that was intent on making you pay and sat you on your butt. Keep it up and keep the videos coming.
Bubba i swung a tire hammer for 30 years , but back in my street racing days the shop i worked at had a Manuel tire machine . While shops broke the centers out of the old Crager SS wheels , i was using the manuel changer to switch out slicks for my buddies and my self . We talking way before the rim clamp machines . Well i was going to Harbor Frieght to find a tire hammer and irons like you have and bingo they had one of the manuel machines like i used back in the day . That made a great big differance in my switching tires at home. . You may want to look into one .
Ain't it funny how some lives coincide , i bought my Mother a Cavalier station wagon when my Grandmother got sick and Mom needed to go up and help care for her and her old car wasn't reliable to run back and forh . Well i did all the upgrades tune up , tires , brakes , wipers blades , well when it came time for a muffler i was bought out of money and a cherry bomb was cheap so Mom became "Granny with a Glasspack" !!
Wow I did not know they put electric motors in those cars. Hope you did not get a smack down with that tree when you were on the tractor. Weld a steel pipe into the tire hammer and see how long it takes to fall off.
My son's International engine is a 1947 KB1. The displacement on these beauties is, 233 cu in. Just so you know, the engine serial number, is the vehicle registration number. Some truck frames aren't even marked. The R series KB1 and 2 engines, are a massive 240 cu in. Back in 1961, I had a job driving a 1 ton box with that engine. It was a joke, driving it on the highway. Nice to see you salvaging anything useable.
Man, I’d like to see you go ahead and salvage that station wagon roof. Just do your thing and patch/weld up the holes. Wouldn’t it be better than the one currently on your wagon? Not to mention, it’s already detached and ready to go. 😂
Thank you for the glass pack story it made me think of my mom who isn't with us anymore. Me and my brother grew up using what we had to fix what we needed too itbwas just us three
The video started off so smoooth, I said to myself "today Chad gets the Dawg", but then you started to hurt yourself :( and soon I was feeling bad for ya. But nonetheless I'd rather see it, then have it omitted in editing. Its kinda like "The thrill of Victory Vs The Agony of Defeat". "Augh Yeh" Fantastic video !
Easiest way to bust tires off a bead is to lay a two foot long 2x4 on the tire to the ground and drive up on it with your vehicle. Be sure your vehicle sits high enough so it don't come down on top of the wheel your working with.
Wow, I missed sending my comment on the other Video, ( think my tablet about wore out like me!! 😊) but as U said about people ask Why U do what U do bringing OLD junk home?? Hell, I LOVE WATCHING U DO SO MYSELF!!!! DANG, I look at it this way, they don't like what U do, they need to find another Video else where and let Us POOR AND OLD GUYS ENJOY WATCHING U!!! I really DO get a Chuckle and a kick out of watching your VIDEO'S, and HOPE U NEVER STOP MAKING THEM!!! So PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING!!! STAY SAFE, LOOK OUT FOR THEM OLD WASPS!!! LOL😊😊
Great video once again. One could make a dollar or two and do nature a favour by shredding all the old iron that has no purpose anymore all over America. There will be enough left to wrench on I reckon 🤣 Please take good care of yourself and be safe.
This is why I'll never let someone borrow my car again. My ex let her brother drive my car and he ended up running from the police and tore my shit up. I was pissed asf, especially when I found out he tried hiding my car at a car wash
Maybe they were thinking about converting that LTD into electric. Lol. I'd probly clean and rebuild that electric motor and sell it.....or take the copper out of it. That car musta been sitting there most it's life. That's some BAD rot. I mean really bad. That truck.......even worse! My gosh! The rot! Had to have been northern vehicles. My Oldsmobile Delta 88 was rotted all over too. When the wrench slipped and you hit your hand, I immediately went ooooooooo, cuz I recently did that but there was a skinny sapling stump my finger hit and it went right into my finger by my nail. Oooooo it hurt and I cussed. Lol. You got my luck. One thing goes wrong, everything goes wrong. Days like that, it's just time to call it quits and restart another day. Lol. And it's cool you actually found something on that truck that was usable. That truck is seriously stripped now.
the red truck with a little more bondo and polish looks like new😀... greetings friend I love your videos and I have subscribed to your channel greetings from Sonora, Mexico
I wonder how many properties there are down Tennessee and Mississippi and all the Southern states there, I just wonder how many yards there are like yours and your neighbors out there.. just full FULL of old cars (some junk, some relics!) I can't WAIT to be done with New Jersey and get the HECK back down south man.. Life is SO much better in the woods, and even in South Jersey (I'm not NY, I'm south) the woods are disappearing every year for houses.. and all the people from up north (north of ME of all) come down and think they're living the country life.. they have NO idea.. : )
St. Louis Spring hadn’t listed for $200 but the problem with newly springs and I have too much our channel set it up. Why do I in the rear if they’re like the ones I got for my 67 Camaro.
One man's junk is another man's treasure.
Used to do this with my pap all the time had a good ol time.
Don't you just love another day in paradise, lol! Looks like my day yesterday, it was one for the books !!!
Love your “never say die” attitude. You showed that dad gum spring who’s boss! 😁
It's always satisfying seeing things done old school. It is truly rare to see a tire swap without a tire machine these days! Awesome video!
I'm happy to see you made it through that expedition with all limbs intact, all be it bruised. Lol. I grew up on a large farm in NW Arkansas and had very little money. 68 is one of my favorite full size Fords, but there was just not much left of that one at all. I'm glad you found something savable.
It's nice having your own personal parts store in the woods. You need to follow up with a bruise and cut count. LOL
Our family especially loves the intro music. I personally have an album called "dueling banjos" .It is my favorite!!
It’s amazing how much work a Tennessee boy will put into getting some old parts I should know Been doing the same thing in Tennessee for most of my life. Keep up the good work I love watching the videos

Its fun pulling parts from cars in the woods, thankfully you didnt get to hurt, but i must say it made me laugh, thanks.🤣

I got tired and sore just watching this Video, but loved every second. Nice work
I had a tech put a new tire on my bucket truck out in the field. He was a younger guy but had skills beyond his age, did it all with long irons and leverage, probably faster than using a machine, all the while having a conversation with me. I was impressed.
I near fell out of my chair laughing,When that leaf spring attacked ya!! LOL!!
Should have seen me laughing whilst editing it. 🤣🤣
lots of great parts for the saving of more cars
Feel your pain pops. Can not even count how many times something slipped off and crunched, smashed, pinched, or whacked my fingers. Keep up the great work and I will keep on watching
Always fun doing a part scavenging run! Finding a place to put stuff can be the hard part
Hard work pays off! Love your videos!
You make amazing videos! Love your videos and true self!! Always a joy to watch. I love watching your videos!!
another 👍 good video me and my dad used to flip cars over to knock gas tanks off to scrap cars we had at our garage with a Kubota 2550 tractor
Man I felt every one of those sudden impact encounters with those old parts! I know your disclaimer says DON'T DO WHAT I DO! Why didn't you just roll her over too and bring the Gas/Axe out? I remember hunting for those factory narrowed ford Grenada rearends back in the day , a mustang swap was its home .

Another awesome video chad, hopefully your foot feels better 😀
Sweet new projects looking forward to em

Great seeing you still at it love your channel buddy 👍💯
Thanks for another great video 👍🏻, i laugh hard when you make the jump back 😂 . Keep on doing your superb video's 👊🏻.
Yer the best Pal, I can’t believe anyone gets hurt more, makes me think of me thru the years,,,lol 👍

It's fine. 👍
Thanks Chad, that's not that's stuff.
Central California watching
That was funny Chad! You were lucky that you didn’t land on Somthing!!💪😜😂

I get so tickled when your trying to do stuff especially the Leaf springs.

Well you have beaten yourself up in this video! Tearing a tire up! At least you show what it's really like doing the work! 👌👌
Hey Chad, hard work never killed anyone - just a leaf spring that was intent on making you pay and sat you on your butt. Keep it up and keep the videos coming.
It came loose tho didn't it! 👍

Get carbide blades for your sawzaw. I know they’re expensive but they last a good while and cut through damn near anything
I believe Sleeperdude was in that same place looking at the Ford wagon.
Save the Gilbert/ polar cub fan!!!!! That would make a good will it run video
I actually really like that Fairmont station wagon. Ever since my parents had that 75 Country Squire wagon, I've had a soft spot for wagons.
Sleeperdude 88 on TH-cam is a Fairmont fanatic. He has 5 or more including wagons.
Can't wait to see that Galaxy wagon on the road
I would love that bathroom sink for my man cave. Actually been looking for one like that.😆
Ain't it funny how some lives coincide , i bought my Mother a Cavalier station wagon when my Grandmother got sick and Mom needed to go up and help care for her and her old car wasn't reliable to run back and forh . Do they salt the roads in the winter in Tennessee or something? Oh and Sleeperdude88 may wanna buy that Fairmont wagon. He has like 47 of them.
Wow I did not know they put electric motors in those cars. Hope you did not get a smack down with that tree when you were on the tractor.
Weld a steel pipe into the tire hammer and see how long it takes to fall off.
Sleeperdude loves those old Fairmonts.
Thanks for bringing me/us along. It was a hoot! Take care from Canada eh!

Laughing so hard I am crying! Ty your the goat!
When we change a tire we use an wedge made out of an old model T axel my grandpa found in the woods in the 60’s
Man, I’d like to see you go ahead and salvage that station wagon roof. Just do your thing and patch/weld up the holes. Wouldn’t it be better than the one currently on your wagon? Not to mention, it’s already detached and ready to go. 😂
It's detached due to rust. Paint scheme won't match either.
That red C20 couldn’t possibly be a Tennessee truck. With that much rust it must have spent at least a few years up in the rust belt!
🤔 I think someone was trying to make a good ole electric car outta the LTD 😂
The reason it took so long to get that spring off you were hitting it with the wrong hand. Lol
Love the videos, hope you can do a will it run on that 71-72 Chevy carryall 🤞🏻
That might have been the taillight bezels.
Thank you for the glass pack story it made me think of my mom who isn't with us anymore. Me and my brother grew up using what we had to fix what we needed too itbwas just us three

"Augh Yeh" Fantastic video !
Got my Ole Dude T-Shirt in today Love it.
Preshate that! 👍
Sleeperdude would probably love that Fairmont wagon.
Can’t wait to see lockjaw again such a cool truck for how worn out it is
Finally a person that has the same luck with vehicles that I have 👍
Well Dumas has oil pressure, wait’n on the next video, sure do enjoy the videos.Take Care, Your Oregon Friend ☮️
love parts cars its like christmas lol
I’m not gonna lie, I was kinda hoping the rear end of the c10 would lift and the cab would stay on the ground 😂 thanks for the video I enjoyed it
Good video Chad ! Lots of good parts on that car yet mate ! Keep everything 😎😎😎

Great videos!!! I am surprised you did not get the tailgate and glass for any small parts you may need for your wagon.
Take care.

Sad seeing that beautiful ford wagon rotting like that!😢 and that Fairmont wagon deserves a rebuild!
Lol, that cheered me up. Some evil person dosed me up with covid last week so I`ve been a bit glum, laughter is great medicine.
Get well soon!
@@ThisNThatGarage Thank you Chad.
Id love to have the hood you took off the 64. Mine is completely rusted apart
At 10:50, when rear end rolled back on the forks my mind sed "Slicker than Snot on a Doorknob!"
That’s like on of my days 😊
Leaf springs for the old Chevy. Cheapest about 130 plus a piece
Love you brother great job
Now you need to buy another tire to match the other 3 on the Chevy or all four
St. Louis Spring hadn’t listed for $200 but the problem with newly springs and I have too much our channel set it up. Why do I in the rear if they’re like the ones I got for my 67 Camaro.
exelentes videos, espero todos los viernes para ver tus historias. saludos desde argentina!!!
Hello Argentina! 👍
