I agree. I watch the Russian guys videos "Labuski" I think it is, and he hangs it to dry and pans over the rug and brushes it with his hand. I like that.
@@kctyphoon Yep. The pressure wash might have been the culprit for this one. Not all rugs are pressure wash safe. The lighter leaf pattern all but disappeared after the cleaning. Some of what came out seems to have been the dye.
OMG!!! I've been cleaning my carpets with my power washer for years. My neighbors all think I'm nuts. But I'm not dropping tons of $$$ on new carpet. This is so rewarding
I watched to see the end result, and you didn't even show it. A side by side picture of how it started and what it looks like when finished and dry would be awesome.
Holy cow that was satisfying to watch. I'm sure my rugs are probably that dirty ... I don't have time to clean because I'm too busy watching cleaning videos! 😉
I found you through your shorts, one of the best things about the shorts are the stories you tell, do you not normally tell the stories on your full videos?
I'm glad I looked at more comments. I was just about to ask that question. Does he recycle that water? First time I watched the whole video. Pretty cool. Thanks go to the creator of the video.
Maybe a hanging device can be manufactured that would allow the water to drain downward while rinsing. You did a good job. Can believe a white rug would be at a mechanic shop.
I've watched a few of these videos and I always figured with some rugs, you'll never get all the dirt out, no matter what you do. Although this would be expensive to do; Would the process go quicker if you could have that same area raised 2 inches and have a 1/4" grate type floor to stand on? That way the dirt and water could go straight through instead of being trapped underneath.
Well now I've watched a bunch of his older videos. And those show a black floor with slotted panels. But sometimes to keep the soap in the rug, he put white covers over the panels so it didn't drain. It does look like the slotted floor does a better/quicker job.
really takes the satisfaction out of it for me, i'd rather them just buy a new one than use all that water just to get dirt out of a rug. im sure it takes more water to make rugs tho, so probably a lose lose situation.
Most of these places catch, filter and reuse the water, its the law where I am from for car washers at least, 80% of the water to wash a car is reused. So hopefully they do the same there.
People who have water shortages shouldn’t expect people with an abundance of water to pretend they have water shortages, too. It’s childish and nonsensical.
I'm sure you're asked this all the time.. I checked the comments and nothing stuck out.. Can this process be done with house carpet? Granted the carpet fit in the cleaning area. I have some animal stained carpet. I had a cleaner come and it only temporarily solved the problem. My old cat could still smell it so he marked it again. I removed the pad and had a different cleaner come. Smell came back with moisture from swap cooler. I'm hoping a rug cleaning place with a set up like yours could really scrub out the carpets. In addition to the smell from the animal stains the carpet is full of sand. The carpet cleaners are unable to remove the sand. You can shake the carpet and sand falls out like a salt shaker x10 I don't have money to replace the carpet and my son likes the color. So I'm seeking other options. Thanks for your time! Love the content 👌
A potential request. I really liked the back story about this rug in the short. I know these videos tend not to have talking, so as a compromise would you consider adding Closed Captions with a little background on the project featured in the video.
Didn’t think there was enough soap in the world to clean that rug. A before and after shot would have been nice Not to mention, when you did the “final” rinse, it seemed like it was still dirty. Did you skip some filming?
With this method, we are looking for old village carpets every day because there are poor people in the village and we wash their carpets. I hope you are satisfied with it.😊❤
Do you own that carpet brush thingy/machine that sweeps the tomorrow out of the carpets before & after? Or do you do that by hand? How do you dry your carpets? Do you ever have a problem with the warp & weft shrinking?
What's the best way to dry a rug like this without one of those rug spin cycle machines? Also what would work for agitation instead of that big spin brush machine? I have a pretty expensive carpet that needs a deep clean and have everything except the things mentioned. Great job!
Hi, if you don't mind my 2 cents thrown in, I used to work in the tool rental industry and you have some options there regarding cleaning your carpet. As far as drying goes it's strictly air drying. There are actually fans (blowers) made for carpet drying you can also rent to speed up the process. You can inquire in your area for different rental places for availability and pricing. You can start with Home Depot and expand to the individual rental places if need be. I'd personally rent, at least, a pressure washer before I went the manual brush scrubbing route. Be sure to use the right spray head and not hold it too close to the rug as not to ruin it. Too much pressure with the right stream can actually remove a toe! Hope this helps a little. Good luck. Troy
An oddly satisfying experience. Then again, I'm always cleaning stuff, so... and I echo dawnback5333's comment: finished product longer-duration view, and a final before/after shot. Thanks for your efforts!
I feel like this would be a lot easier if the rug was on some kind of fine mesh. It just looks like half of your work is dealing with all the dirty water getting all over what was just washed and you trying to squeegee it away. If this was on a fine mesh for the water to just drain or something while still giving support for the machine this would go much faster and cleaner Also it looked like it wasn't clean at the end and then you flash to it being clean for a split second...
Just out of curiosity. what is the start up cost for a business like this? Equipment cost and cleaning products cost? I’ve been watching for a while and have always wondered what the total cost is to get a business like this started.
If a little bit of the dirt from one side of the rug is going to inevitably end up on the other side of the rug, wouldn't it make more sense to start on the underside? That way you don't have to clean the top twice?
Why not get it up on a screen, a very fine screen, so the water washes through, pushing the dirt out the other side? This is the idea of washing, to push the water through the material. Surface dirt will come off the surface naturally, that's the easy part. It is getting the deep down dirt out that is harder. Water has to be pushed through the material, washing the dirt out the other side.
I get the feeling that if a rug cleaning guy wanted to clean it, it had to be a great rug that was well made with good materials. (Either that or he just really wanted to make the video lololol)
I honestly don’t understand why rugs are cleaned like this, on a solid surface, from the top down.. id (almost) be willing to bet someone could cut their cleaning time in half (at least) if the rugs were placed face down on a milk create type surface/material and you it from the back using a Hotsy pressure washer and a small surface cleaner attachment using moderate pressure and no detergent. Then use the scrubber on the front of the rug with some chemical cleaner (after a little dwell time) to loosen up the stubborn stuff. The logic here being all the dirt enters from the top down, so to clean from bottom up, first.
I love rug cleaning but your videos are just horribly edited, The camera slowly moving down as if someone with joycon drift was playing a game and the unnecessary sped up or close-up stuff ruins the experience.
why do you clean an area just to move over and spray you dirty water right back into the area you literally spent 10 minutes cleaning? quit pissing every where and mow the lawn, breaking up dirty into fine powder and pushing into a pressure washed fabric quadrupling water soap and time
Rugs can hold so much crap in them, granted this one did come from a auto shop but they still just have so much surface area for dirt and grime and shit. That’s why I always go with a bare floor, why would I want a dirt sponge in my house?
