Hi. I am surprised at your comment reference the handling of your Goldwing. I have had no problem at all with that and we ride 2 up all the time on our 2019 wing. I am 100kgs, 6ft 3 and my wife is 60kgs and 5ft 6”. I also ride a BMW K1600 and the Wing handles as good, if not better 1 or 2 up. However, I couldn’t agree with you more regarding the poor luggage capacity though. It truly is appalling for a prestige tourer. All in all though, the plus’s of the Wing outweigh the negatives. My wife hasn’t found anything more comfortable for sitting on and it will be difficult to change. Thanks for your video, ride safe. 👍🏻

Hi, thank you for taking time to watch the video and good of you to join in the comments.
I am starting to wonder whether there was either something wrong with my actual bike right from the start or was the suspension upgraded at all for the 19 plate onwards. I do recall watching a video from Traxxion Dynamics in relation to damping and how they found it to be under damped, their wing I believe is also an 2018 model. Still I enjoyed my time on it and am very pleased you are enjoying yours. I hope you have a great touring season.
      All the best M & M

Agree with your criticism of the Goldwing. However, there are solutions if you are prepared to splash some cash. Traxxion Dynamics have new shocks that solve the handling issues and there are deeper pannier doors that can be retro-fitted too. You can also add a trailer for uber storage space. I love my 2023 wing and fully intend to get the Traxxion suspension upgrade. I had an R1200GSA (2016) and loved it but my partner vastly prefers the Goldwing as a pillion.

      Hello,
Thanks very much for taking time to watch the video and to comment, that's really good of you.
I totally agree, I just wish I lived over there so I could of made a visit to Max for a suspension upgrade. I am pleased you both like the Wing. I hope you have many enjoyable adventurous rides on it.
      Best wishes M & M

I agree with the assessments of the Goldwing, but you should have upgraded the suspension with a Traxxion Dynamics upgrade. It will change your mind.

Agree about the luggage being small for such a large bike , although I too have a luggage rack not sure why you then had an issue because it does then provide ample volume , handling must have been your bike, mine’s fine loaded two up and pillion, never had a problem with it, handling is incredible.

Thanks for watching the video, very much appreciated.
You may be right. Although the bike was 2nd hand, I got it from the dealers with zero miles on it so the damping has always been like it.
Bumpy or undulating roads was not good for it and on occasions bottomed out. I believe newer models did have an upgrade with regards to the suspension. If I had lived anywhere near to Traxion Dynamics, I may have considered an upgrade through Max but sadly not possible. I loved the bike and looked superb, a real eye catcher but time to move on. Take care out there

Interesting getting other peoples viewpoints so as long as a video isn’t total twaddle then I will watch it, doesn’t mean I necessarily concur with someone else.
Mine is a 2019 DCT Tour, we took it about 3000 miles to the arctic circle in Norway 2 years ago, easily enough luggage storage (including Mrs and her hairdryer and a tyre pump) one trick people often miss out on is that when the OEM bags are in there is quite a bit of space left behind them in panniers and topbox to get stuff in.
Re the handling, I have had 5 boxers from R1100RT to R1200RT L/C and a R1200GS. The L/C handling was the worst of the lot, the best was an 06 RT, by a long shot. The GS suffered suspension wallowing on undulating roads , really badly and especially so when laden but the worst bit about it was the fuelling which would be extremely fluffy at slow speeds making u turns a bum clenching manoeuvre, something that never happens on the Wing. Criticism of the wing :-
      1. Luggage volume for such a massive bike
      2. General cost ( but you know that when you buy it)
      3. Cleaning it 🤦‍♂️
      4. It really needs servicing by a Honda Goldwing Specialist dealership, it’s so bloody complex
However once I start it all those things melt away, the musical instrument attached to the right hand grip and sheer effortless performance for me is unmatched

I'm glad that you have gelled with yours, We did have fun on it. We too did Norway on ours and it was very good over there, but then the roads over there are far superior than the Uk network.
£1000 for a main service at a main dealer was too much, I think if we had of kept it, i would have probably gone to Wing Away, a Wing specialist. The hill start and cruise control went wrong, believed to be clutch micro switch. Then there is the latest of a bolt shearing in the gearbox area (more so 6 speed which mine was) i'm sure you have seen it on Cruisman's video.
Best of luck with yours and hope you have a great touring year.

@@MMMotorcycleTravels cruise man I tend to not watch , a lot of clickbait in my experience, I mean why on earth would you use a separate handlebar mounted sat nav on a bike with Apple CarPlay 🤷‍♂️.
Yes the 16000 mil service is a lot, but the interim’s are not that expensive. I gather from friends the big service on your triumph is even more, it’s mad the cost of biking nowadays, they used to be so cheap to run.

Service feedback from owners of Triumph is sketchy from my experience speaking with owners being quite negative mostly warranty issues. I was leaning towards a Triumph for a moment but holding off for now. Very good choice on your ride. 2 GWs and 2HDs presently.

      Hello,
Thanks very much for taking time to watch the video & hope you enjoyed it. Obviously this is my own personal experience with the 2018+. I do miss the Goldwing in someways and may return one day but not to the 2018+, maybe the previous generation. For now, i'm luvin the Triumph and what it has to offer. No issues at the moment however I am aware of issues which other owners have had and that can also be said for the GW.
Hope you have a great summer for touring

Triumph have a "drive by wire" solution, and the play on idle is to shut off cruise control. Done by light twist in opposite direction on my 2017 tiger 800 XCX. Fantastic motorcycle btw. So there is no mechanical (cable) connection between the handle and the throttle..

Hi, thank you for finding the time to get in touch.
I remember riding a friends original Tiger, possibly a 1050 and found the same on that throttle. I have now set up the rider mode to get the mapping of the engine how I like it and also able to do the suspension, much better. I am really getting to enjoy the Tiger the more I ride it. Very much looking forward to a long trip over to the Dolomites on it. That will be a fun video to edit.
      Have a good weekend M & M

      Hello,
Thanks for watching and great for you to take time to comment.
From my experience I found the 2007 model extremely comfortable for long journeys as well did my wife, things changed on the 2018+, there are fixes with various seat manufacturers. Weight wise again the 07 was heavy but manageable with care, the 2018 wasn't for me, too bad.
I've ridden the ZZR1400 on many occasions, it is a very nice bike, great engine & handling. You've got a great bike there.
