A customer asked our previous finisher to put Easter Bird on one side and Spring Bird on the other side, so that all she had to do was turn the cube around. It saved her money and storage space! Thanks to your tutorial, I would not be afraid to try this myself:-) Shelly
someone who stitched the country cottage needlework Christmas village said on her flosstube that she wanted to FFO as standing blocks. And one of her viewers mentioned you and your tutorial as a go-by. I love that idea and I love how the cross stitch community is so helpful to all. Thanks for your tutorials--esp this one. Now I have more incentive to stitch a Christmas village.
Hi from South Africa Helen! I loved this tutorial. Because I don't have a sewing machine and saw my small cushions by hand, this is a wonderful new way for me to display my smalls. Thanks so much for this, look forward to seeing any other ideas you can share.
I really like this finish! A few washers on the bottom under the last fabric strip would help weight it a bit. The hot knifes can break pretty easily. If you do invest in one, careful, but they’re worth it. Thank you for sharing this.😁💜👍🏻
Thanks for sharing your process. I have finished a couple projects with cubes from Dollar Tree and ribbon around sides. I like your idea of using the fabric. I also prefer the simpler finish. Your tutorials never disappoint! Happy finishing!
Love it! I have not seen this kind of finish before. Thank you so much. One good thing about the pandemic is I discovered floss tube . You are one of my favs!
I've done some of these using the floral oasis and wrapped it in a neutral fabric first. I put a monthly design on each side with a seasonal ribbon around the middle and set it in the middle of my coffee table. The styrofoam looks a lot sturdier. The fabric strip works better around the middle too because you can only pull the ribbon tightly and pin it on the bottom.
I did a cube for Halloween last year and put a little witch hat on the top with pins. It was sold in the store as a headband and I cut it off. It's one of my favorite finishes.
@@helend.flosstube OH MY GOODNESS!!! GREAT idea. I am 65 yrs old. I started cross stitching 35 years ago, then quit stitching for 28 years. I still have dozens of finishes in a drawer, one being the Monopoly board. I came back to stitching 3 years ago. It is so fun seeing how all you young people finish your projects. Starting to actually finish some of my antiques.
Great tutorial, thanks so much. A drop cloth on the table to collect the little bits... the floral green foam can crumble badly over time. Now if I could get someone in my house to cut foam for me!
Another lovely tutorial! I picked up an electric carving knife at a thrift store for cutting upholstery foam, but it might work for styrofoam, too. That being said, I've just fallen down the rabbit hole of DIY hot wire foam cutters on TH-cam....
Can't tell you how helpful your videos are!! Thank you

Thanks for the tip about the hot knife. They had one at Walmart when I bought the foam, but it looked cheap so I didn't get it.
Very Nice, I “can” do this!!! Thanks for the fun Tutorial.
Thank you, Helen. Love the simplicity of your finishes and you’re a good teacher!
Thanks for a great tutorial...another way to FFO a small piece 👍
What a great idea using the fabric strip to cover the pins! I’ve seen it done with ribbon, but I like your idea much better! Thanks for the tutorial!💕

That was smart to put the extra fabric around the floral foam first. That stuff is even messier than styrofoam!
GREAT tutorial. Can't wait to make some Halloween finishes.

Thank you.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Love this quick no sew finish!
😲 I’ve never seen a finish like this - definitely one to try 🤩
Very cute idea. You would never know styrofoam bothers you. 😀
It's the noise it makes when it's cut that bothers me. Or when you pull it out of a box. :)
@@helend.flosstube I can understand that. 😬
Great tutorial, thanks so much. A drop cloth on the table to collect the little bits... the floral green foam can crumble badly over time. Now if I could get someone in my house to cut foam for me!
Oh My Gosh . . you are amazing . . how do you come up with these fantastic, yet doable ideas. Thank You so Much !
