As a real ff7 veteren no this battle isnt hard solo its easier. Bread a gold chocobo. Then max out elixer with w-item glitch. Then master counter and mime. Kill your party and max your limit guage before the battle. Use elixer then omnislash upon entering. If you get hit you will answer with an elixer then omnislash 78 hits of 9999 to be exact. Thats if you hit lvl 99 or use items in battle to max stats. This fight is not hard at all.
Btw the gold chocobo is so you can get mime. Maybe counter cant remember. Been awhile. Another pro tip. Set your save point at the end in the second area that has movers where you can enter and re-enter the area. This will prevent the missing latter glitch in sephiroths cave.

I recently did it with an unleveled knights of the round paired with HP absorb, hades, mime and an HP plus Materia. He barely got to attack and was dead within minutes.
Use counter paired with mime its the best materia combo when you open with a limit. From there everytime you get hit you counter with mime. Copying the players last action. You can pair 4 i beleive so if you get hit you answer with a limit 4 times in a row.
You can auto kill Ruby without pushing a button 😂 2 final attack KOR combos. 1 final attack revive combo. HP plus and hpmp. And a ribbon. There's a TH-cam channel called 4-8 productions that came up with it. I'm about to try it myself, I've heard others say it works in his comments but I want the satisfaction of doing it myself.
both ruby weapon and emerald weapon were a nightmare to me , I never thought that there was a way to beat them , and here some master player bested them like a BOSS , good job man
For using counter/mime, it will repeat the last command that was used. For instance Omnislash, when you use it the first time, next battle command select mime, and Cloud will use Omnislash again and again, until you select a different command....this strategy worked perfect when I defeated Emerald weapon.
Awesome fight. The most anticlimax reward ever. You need a gold to get what you need to beat him and is reward is another gold. Bragging rights only with ruby
I actually don't recommend this way because it took HOURS maxing out some of the stats I needed to win this battle. I say the usual Dazer on the boss + Magic Hammer is fine.
Both match up very nicely, and one thing I did learn after doing this video is that Hero Potions have a max value..... they increase Str/Def/Mag Atk./Mag Def by 30% so I used WAYY more than 4 haha.

I used Vincent with Mug and as he's attacking with that use KOTR with Cloud and MP Absorb. It skips the KOTR animation. 6 turns using that and he's done. I used Cid with w-item to use Dazers on Ruby and hero drinks/elixirs when needed.
+Joshua Brien Since you can't buy them, hold on to the three (or four ) you find in the game and duplicate them with the W-Item glitch. I learned that you don't need them so much for this boss but they help a ton.

I incorporated a stun technique in a solo attempt but it lasted only for a turn. I thought "wtf?" so it just made things draw out longer until I died lol. I thought more of countering than anything else too.
Really wana go back and play this again. I’d maxed everything, beaten everything and done everything there was to do. However I was like 12 when I did it all and now I’m 35 I’m feeling like I wana go back and do it all over again.
I also did it with 1 team member but it took forever and a half. I only had limit attacks. This is the switch version where the gage is always full. Even so I only survived because my health was maxed out and Ruby ran out of mp.
Its been awhile but pretty sure you just pair Counter with Mime, and KotR with HP Absorb. Then you literally just summon KotR to start the fight (with your other two party members pre-emptively KO'd) and put the controller down, go make yourself a sandwich, you've won.

Hmmm. I thought about Final Attack+phoenix as being BROKEN. So I didn't use it. I did Lucky 7 but I couldn't keep it up long enough for a 8 minute win sadly...
A much easier way. As soon as he buries his claws, revive or Phoenix down the other 2 members. Make sure 1 person has Hades and KOTR with W-summon and someone else has mime. Double summon and mime. He won't even get a hit off past his first one.
I did that for Emerald. I used 2xSummon - KotR and kept Miming until it died. And I also paired Phoenix with that Materia (damn forgot the name!!) that lets you cast it one last time if everyone dies.

The best way to beat ol' Ruby was use the Hades summon first. He would freeze for two or three rounds then use Hades again when he moved.
