  • Zambia inaugurates two international airports in a $1 Billion investment projects - Zambia has commissioned the new Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola on the Copperbelt Province. The multi-million dollar project, formerly known as Copperbelt International Airport, marks the first time in over 50 years that Zambia has developed a large airport after Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, formerly Lusaka International Airport, which was built in 1967.
    The ultra-modern airport’s design includes a 3500-meter runway and a 12,000 square metre terminal building, with the capacity to accommodate one million passengers, which has a longer wingspan than the Boeing 747-800, which the old airport could not accommodate. The new facility also features a multitude of attractions, including a 50-room hotel. A 28-meter-high control tower, a category 10 fire station and an aircraft hangar, are among the other amenities. The new airport, according to Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL), will handle 8,000 tonnes of cargo and 20,000 take-offs per year.

      Hmmm. You know we defaulted on the debt right?And now our children will have to pay this debt to unforgiving China. Do you even know what was in the debt contract? Don't be surprised if the Chinese end up taking over all the public mines in Zambia. Not only are we the only and first country to default Chinese debt in Africa, but. the previous government left nothing in the treasury.

      @@alumbwesainent7700 the word renowned is what I find a little confusing. I know Zambia, like other countries, has a tourism sector but I wouldn't have used the word 'renowned' to define it's tourism sector. Going by 2019 tourism numbers according to the world bank
      Zambia 1.2 million
      Namibia 1.6 million
      Botswana 1.8 million
      Kenya 2 million
      Zimbabwe 2.3 million
      Egypt 3.5 million
      South Africa 5 million
      If we go by the definition of Renowned meaning famous or talked about by many people I'm not sure we could use that route either. Most people in the west, east and north know Kenya and Egypt. Even South Africa.

    • @brianmulubwa941
      @brianmulubwa941 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Imagine a south African asking such a question when they are illegally marketing the Victoria falls as their own. Even including it in their tourism package. Zambia has the second largest national park in Africa , the size of Switzerland in the kafue national park...unexplored and untamed. We have 67 waterfalls and we hold 41% of fresh water in southern Africa. Big country with a fairly small population of about 18 million people. No wars and no insecurity. That's a tourist attraction
