It's a pretty complicated issue. The people that Stellantis wants to buy wranglers don't want wranglers, and the people that want to buy wranglers are priced out by Stellantis.
I test drove a grand Cherokee altitude 17 months ago, that same car is still on the lot and it hasn't even dropped a cent in price. It's insane how desperate they are to sell those over priced pieces of junk.
You'd be a fool to take the Jeep back to the dealer for Lifetime oil changes, your Jeep will come down with the covid as fast as the warranty is expired
I ended up trading my jeep 4xe in at a loss....the latest battery recall where I can't park in my own garage, near other cars, near trees, or structures made continued ownership difficult. I have nowhere to park outside in my area and there is no remedy in sight. I looked at several options and ended up getting a Defender 110 instead.
My Durango R/T will be 9 years old in 2025, I never had any problems with this suv, regular oil changes, 3 sets tires, 2 sets breaks. I went for a walk around my dealer as my suv was serviced last week, oil & snow tires installed. I was so shocked at the sticker prices! Looks like I will continue to drive my old reliable Durango, I love the 5.7 and was told it's discontinued. Sad news that 5.7 is a reliable workhorse.
I beg the differ, I don’t think people are broke, they are using their head and just not spending their hard earned money on grossly overpriced automobiles.
But it’s not just Jeep people. Look at ford and Chevy. My buddy just bought a Chevy Silverado and the sticker was $71500. Freakin crazy. That same truck I paid 50 4 years ago. Same truck, same engine. They r all overpriced
They are overpriced but trucks in particular across every brand is over contented as well. Trucks didn’t use to have 12” touchscreens, ventilated seats, heated steering wheels, panoramic sunroofs. They could be nice but essentially these big trucks are luxury products. The problem isn’t that they exist, it’s that those are the models they makers target because of profit margin. They are all chasing profits, not volume. The problem is you run out of customers when a whole market is targeting such a small % of a population. They need to change their business model. In my mind Toyota is the only one getting it right. They still have budget vehicles-corolla, Camry, corolla cross but then their Tundra and Tacoma can get pricey but lower end models aren’t completely out of control.
I got a 2024 4Xe...went to 3 dealerships. Got 3 different prices. $726 a month, $3500 down $650 a month, $3000 down $450 a month, $2500 down. I went with the lowest offer obviously. But it shows you how dealerships are greedy. They are gunna get screwed in the end
You said that a jeep behind you should be $30,000 or so. Actually it should be $3,000 if back on the gold standard. Soon dealers will have to let them go for nothing in order to stop having to pay interest and insurance on them. Dealers are bleeding cash daily.
@markholubetz yep. Everything will "catch up" for most Americans real soon. Keep an eye on the NY Fed Reverse Repo because it is dropping fast and when it hits zero the global credit system will freeze.
I ran across this video because for quite some time now i been thinking on buying a vehicle but but don’t want a payment situation. Was thinking cash/used. So today i thought on looking for a used Jeep and WOW the prices are ridiculously too high EVEN FOR USED ONES 😮. Thank you for this information.
I bought a Willy’s, brand new in 2016 for $36k (CAD). I looked at one last week $64k with a $9k discount. I get FCA added new features, but to more than double in price over 8 years is insane.
A trip down memory lane...in 2009 I bought a 2dr jeep sport for 21k CAD, 2016 - Laramie 3500 crew cab diesel for 63k CAD. Sickens me to see how much they want nowadays. I quit buying their products back in 2018. There would have to be some spectacular deals for me to even consider a new vehicle.
I just tried to purchase a 24 Gladiator, and the dealer clearly had no real incentive to sell the vehicle as they didn't offer to discount or negotiate from the sticker price.
Has anyone been thinking about how much car insurance will cost for these overpriced and new vehicles? Car insurance has risen substantially and is expected to rise further. For those owning new cars the bills will be astronomical. With used cars that are older and paid off insurance should be much less. Add these costs to the high prices and monthly payments, it spells disaster.
Not sure where you’re at... but in Oklahoma prices haven't dropped for the new ones... haven’t heard anything about the 50% off… weathers it’s on the news, sales, or other advertisement. I’ve been watching the used Jeep market… some are shaving off a few dollars here and there… BUT they are dragging their feet to get the price down.
My 2016 Wrangler Sahara was pretty loaded at $44,000 with lifetime warranty. Went in for service they wanted me to buy a comparable one for almost $70,000 with no lifetime warranty. No way, going to keep the one I got. Paid for with a lifetime. At 100,000 miles it rides really well and has been good!
When FCA was under the Italians everything went better for the Chrysler US group and brands... Since the French took over it's a disaster. Go snobbish, go brokish.
Clearly the arrogant European car companies do not understand the American market. They attempt to run the American brands same as their European brands which doesn't work.
They almost ran Nissan into the ground as well. They killed the Maxima, one of best cars ever made and thanks to them its now a shell of its former self. Especially with no manual trans.
I ordered a 25 ram tungsten 5 months to get built 45 days shipping to fl. Dealer agreed to 6% off + all factory rebates at delivery. Now they are playing bs games and tell me.their are no rebates i told them keep their overpriced truck i don't need it i just wanted a new one but not at that ridiculous price
Unreliable and overpriced. It could be the one, two punch combination that puts them out of business. I hate the pentastar v6, it's a pos. I wouldn't pay more than $35,000 for a new jeep.
I have a 2021 Wrangler, and every week I get offers from 2 dealers to trade the car at 110% value, plus 2500 usd to buy a new one, seeing the inventory they have 99% 4xe with 15 to 20% discounts and other incentives. Note: They don’t have any gas Wranglers available, only 4xe… so in addition to the overpriced the “e” wasn’t successful.
We are in our 3rd big dog. Had some really good luck with the jeep but we will not be getting another one because of the cost. Out 24 is doing great and we traded every two years but things at jeep have gotten out of hand. Had great jeeps but not paying these credible prices fir another one. We have owned a dozen or more jeeps but not anymore. Hell I’ll go to the Mercedes if I’m gonna pay these prices.
I just Bought a used 23 jeep gladiator Rubicon with 5000 miles last week for 43000 at a Chevy Dealer. Original window sticker of 68000. The jeep dealer across the street has one that hardly has any options and 3000 miles and they want 50000. shop around there are good deals just don't buy from a Stellantis dealer.
He is showing the top of the line models. If you get a sport or Willis Wrangler they are around 40K The base Compass with 4wheel drive is about 28K I just looked on 11-5-24 that was the price in Connecticut USA. I wish Jeep would be owned and made in the USA again. It's an important part of our history.
I just bought a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2 door. Fully loaded for 15k off window sticker. Traded my Mercedes E class. This is the best car in the market. 🤝 I sell luxury and exotic cars everyday and they do not compare to my Rubicon soft top
I think a 20% over cost and low interest rates would bring the market back to them. A fully loaded Sahara was around $32 to $34k a few years ago. Now they are asking $60k plus for them and with great credit around 9% interest. They also give you a crap 3 year 36k mile warranty. No one wants to drink that crazy cool aid 😋. Stellantis is running Jeep into the ground.
Stellantis doesn’t understand the Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Ram customer. They aren’t upmarket brands with the exception of Chrysler which used to be but not within the last 30 years. They need go back to the basics and stop trying to take every vehicle they have upmarket. Who the heck want a Compass for $50k? That is outrageous.
You need to advise folks these stickers are for Canadian vehicles in Canadian Dollars. Granted the prices are high, they need to know you are NOT talking USA Dollars.
My local Jeep Dealership has a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer Series II 4x4 (MSRP $80k) which was a loaner/Demo w/ 5,041 miles, the vehicle is marked down to $60,996 (supposedly getting Holiday Bonus Cash -1000, Conquest Bonus Cash -1000, Military Cash -500, Toys for tots donation -200).... Offer is- No money down, 42mo, 12ki miles for $850 (all-in).... Is this a good deal?
Vallourec has been hiring a lot of managers from Stallantis. 2 French companies, their motto is hurry up and wait. Hurry up through thier manufacturing and quality process to get vehicles to the lots just to wait on customers. 😂 Just to have all these recalls that could have been addressed.
Vehicles are way too Over Priced. Drop the prices, and lower the interest rates. Monthly car payments shouldn't be as much or more than a monthly home mortgage payment anywhere.
As was mentioned by another commenter they just need to take the hit and roll back pricing to 2020 levels. I don't see inventory moving any time over the next 90-days without something drastic happening.
I've been wanting to trade my 22 custom trail boss for a jeep gladiator rubicon or mojave. On the fence front lockers vrs better quality ride but prices are ridiculous. If I'm going to spend 80k to 100k it's going to be on property not a vehicle. I've seen a couple deals but none good enough to pull the trigger yet. Maybe I'm dreaming but I'd love to find a gladiator rubicon base model for 50k or less would be great. Also wish the gladiator offered choice of gearing. Optional 4.56 or 4.88 would be awesome so I wouldn't have to regear to put 37s on it.
If you think $35K will get you into a fully loaded Jeep, you probably should be looking at something more economical. Wranglers and Gladiators are definitely overpriced, and the quality needs to be improved.
The Jeep JL is a great Jeep, but it’s not 80k great. I could buy 4 good rare LJs for that. New wranglers should be 25-45k, but Stellantis got greedy and basically said FU to us long time Jeep owners (24 years of buying new Jeeps here). So I reserved a Scout with gas generator to give Stellantis my FU. Now, Jeep could build a modern LJ (same dimensions as the 03-06 model, new ICE [hurricane] power plant, offroad upgrades, and some slight minor convenience upgrades [heated seats, keyless entry], and sell it at a fair price) and I would cancel my Scout reservation. Stellantis is so clueless that they just don’t understand what Jeep needs. Jeeps are supposed to be simple, durable, fun, and beyond capable. Jeep is an offroad brand, and will NEVER succeed as a luxury brand.
I always said if I was the ceo of jeep I would bring back TJ style jeep with MINOR upgrades like you said (heat seats, rear camera that’s it!!) available every year for cheap.
The biggest mistake Stellantis did is putting a Maserati white collar out of touch executive in charge of US rugged all terrain car for the blue collar folks!
They "build for stock" vehicles that are too loaded with, well, shit no one wants. They are Jeeps FFS, not Cadillacs. Honestly, I'd rather buy an old blister of a Jeep, and rebuild the thing, than buy a new one.
I would cut $8000 off every vehicle and add a 36 month bumper to bumper warranty to address reliability concerns while offering lifetime oil change as long as customers got their scheduled service. This would ensure their resale value and loan values far better making them more attractive to buyers. I would take $20k off the price of their jeep grand Cherokee wagoners as they are severely overpriced.
I Rented a Rubicon EV this week. The ev engine "hybrid" is a joke, 25miles eletric and thats it, no more hybrid after that, pure gas at 2.0. Looks like thats are a lot going on btw brakes, engine and batteries... Sure that thing will broke after 60k miles. Scary
It’s a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand. Jeeps are the best at offroad travel, if you don’t do that, then they’re not for you. Luckily it’s for me and I see some incredible places thanks to my Jeeps.
So, $13,000 off an $85k jeep is $72k. Oversized, overpriced and unreliable. No thanks. Recently rented a Jeep Compass and even accounting for rentals being the bottom of the barrel, it was terrible.
It’s hard to feel bad for this company. They got greedy. It’s fine you wanted a piece of that profit margin pie but they got out of hand. The Compass has zero value and zero reliability. It was one thing to want to create a sub luxury brand. But they should have kept it exclusive to the Wagoneer sub brand or a “Grand” sub brand where Grand meant luxury. But the Compass, Cherokee, Renegade, Wrangler aren’t luxury products and never were and that shouldn’t have been the goal. Also, imo why the Gladiator is cool it shouldn’t exist. They should have brought the Dakota back instead.
These vehicles need to be recycled start fresh with new smaller SUVs and trucks to be under 20 grand to maybe 40 grand fully loaded max, RIP= Jeep, Ram, Dodge, Chrysler
Still not good enough the damage is already done. Chrysler has been single-handedly destroyed by all these incompetent executives at Stellantis. They bought out a profitable car brand and fed it cyanide. Who in their right mind gets rid of profitable makes and models replaces them with over price subpar quality vehicles, and is not investing properly in the brands? And not to mention, pushing EVs that nobody asked for. What could possibly go wrong 😑. I’ll never understand how these overpaid executives make the most boneheaded decisions but you have customers. that makes more sense than they do.
It's a pretty complicated issue. The people that Stellantis wants to buy wranglers don't want wranglers, and the people that want to buy wranglers are priced out by Stellantis.

Its bizarre how bad things have gotten and yet prices have remained close to the same.
I agree same thing in Jersey I thought the price would drop they stayed the same offered me 500 off sticker, pretty laughable
These are my favorite videos, when you show the overstock at stealerships. Awesome videos Mark
50% off... life time free oil changes... and maybe... maybe... we have a deal. 😂
That sounds appealing
They couldn't pay me to drive one of those things.
Lifetime engine warranty!
They’re too unreliable at any price. I’ll never buy another one.
You'd be a fool to take the Jeep back to the dealer for Lifetime oil changes, your Jeep will come down with the covid as fast as the warranty is expired

I just started a lawsuit on this same issue. Jeep won't respond at all. Dealer doesn't want it back.
They CAN sell the vehicles at a lower price. They WON'T. I guess they will be leaving America.
@@mr.foxwiz1653 cheers
Lower the price and include a good warranty.
Great point!

I agree. Hoarding hard assets instead of liabilities. If you cannot tell an asset from a liability. Hint: one builds wealth the other does not.
It's both. US credit card debt is at an all time high. Car repo is soaring. Mortgage payments will get hit soon.

If you buy a jeep definitely get the the extended mopar maximum warranty with 100 deductible.

I've said it before.....go back to the 2020 and 2021 prices...this means a drop of 50% to 61% do this before lot rot! Then jeep will sell.
I normally trade every 4 years for around 15 thousand max. Wanted to trade my 2020 on a new 2024 and they wanted 33,000. I'm out.
I just tried to purchase a 24 Gladiator, and the dealer clearly had no real incentive to sell the vehicle as they didn't offer to discount or negotiate from the sticker price.

The other thing to take into consideration is that no one would want to buy a used electric/ hybrid card… so depreciation will be high!

In the US, Wrangler buyers simply do not want electric or hybrid vehicles. You can't even find just gas versions in the Rubicon trim. Huge mistake.
the auto group near me just got ridded of Ram/Jeep/Chrysler. They only retain Toyota, Honda, Huyndai and a few Germany brand dealerships.

They "build for stock" vehicles that are too loaded with, well, shit no one wants. They are Jeeps FFS, not Cadillacs. Honestly, I'd rather buy an old blister of a Jeep, and rebuild the thing, than buy a new one.
I used to be a Jeep fan. Not no more. Screw Jeep. I've now got my sights on Toyota Land Cruiser ROX.
Better brands as you say
Buy one that is few years old. Those new ones will not match the reliability
@@golferpro1241 True that.
Stelantis is done in the USA!
60k for a jeep JL at 4% for prime borrower is BS
Yes in my opinion that’s a 30k vehicle as a full
Load
Buy a Lexus - they're cheaper!
Exactly
And much more reliable.
Isn’t it crazy that luxury cars are cheaper than Jeeps?
And a lot more reliable 👍
They're knocking 7k dollars!! Wow!!! On a 120k SUV.....oh
Only a 40 foot motor home is needed for the American dream
I had 2008 wranger that I liked, but if I want a new one I need to pay at least twice that? no thanks.
So they are selling a mini van for 55K ?
Yup, We Called It ! They Wanted To See Who'd Blink First, Them Or The Suckers !! 🤔😉👌🤣
Exactly
9:01 car loans are not a financial investment. An investment appreciates o over what you paid, rather than depreciating like a new vehicle.
woooo $1000 off on an $80k vehicle what a bargain
In Melbourne, Australia. Drove past a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was in it's natural habitat....Breakdown service vehicle. By it's side....🫤
Scary
EV’s could make sense for an aero efficient body, but not a brick pushing its way through the wind.
Why would anyone want to buy a 4-door Jeep let alone a Jeep with a truck bed?
It’s a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand. Jeeps are the best at offroad travel, if you don’t do that, then they’re not for you. Luckily it’s for me and I see some incredible places thanks to my Jeeps.
So, $13,000 off an $85k jeep is $72k. Oversized, overpriced and unreliable. No thanks. Recently rented a Jeep Compass and even accounting for rentals being the bottom of the barrel, it was terrible.
$13k off a $20k markup isn’t a deal… Go back to 2018 pricing, then take give grand off
I would not risk my life in a Jeep if THEY paid me.
Was looking at a Gladiator but just not worth it. If it drops by a lot I might push the button.
Edit: But they won't. Gonna go with a Chevy Colorado.
Ford Broncos are even worse, 150k for top models.
brutal, simply not worth half that
It’s hard to feel bad for this company.
Compass has no North total lemon 🍋
Still not good enough the damage is already done. Chrysler has been single-handedly destroyed by all these incompetent executives at Stellantis. They bought out a profitable car brand and fed it cyanide. Who in their right mind gets rid of profitable makes and models replaces them with over price subpar quality vehicles, and is not investing properly in the brands? And not to mention, pushing EVs that nobody asked for. What could possibly go wrong 😑. I’ll never understand how these overpaid executives make the most boneheaded decisions but you have customers. that makes more sense than they do.
I agree. 50% overpriced.
Yes indeed
