This is my Dads car.. it seriously is done to perfection!! 👌 These photos and videos are really killer.. thanks Ross Reviews for taking the time to review Dads car.. you did a great job!
@@RossReviewsau use to own a ZA 289w. the proper way to say it is Zed A, Zed B. it isnt Zee A, Zee B. they sure are fun to drive and can be thrown around, drive them enough and its easy to handle, those were the days! nice car good review.
Bloody tip top review of this beautiful ZB Jon. As a Holden nutter its hard to say this Ford is one of the best cars you have reviewed so far. I love the classic V8s sure do hope more make it to the channel.
I concur with everyones comments below, especially Lara who is obviously very proud of her dads awesome ride. Well done and more like this when possible.
That would look good in my shed!. I learnt to drive in an XT Falcon 500 complete with bench seat, drum brakes all round, the massive 221ci (3.6ltr) 6 and best of all 3 on the tree. Ah the memories...
would look good in my garage to haha.. very very well done ZB was a great experience to drive it and get the chance to show it off to you all! great cars
This would have to be one of my favorite reviews you have done, I grew up in these cars and owned similar Falcon variants. To see a guy half my age respecting an early Aussie Fairlane really makes my day, Thanks mate.
I had one as my work car towing my bricklayers trailer. Very easy to drive and super responsive. Was the second car I owned . Bought for $1400 in 1977.
Johnny man, this brings back good memories that's the exact same car a ZB Fairlane my mates Mum would pick us up in after school in the good old mid 80's,I was 10 & sometimes she would light it up & do burnouts both wheels halfway up the street smoke everywhere I really loved it what a woman lol,it had a 351 in it as well but wasn't anywhere near as nice as this one,my hat goes off to the owner one of the best I've ever seen especially in that colour, they just don't make cars like that anymore yeah it's a tank but a beautiful tank & the sound hard to beat I love it & hope you do more reviews on Fords & Holdens from around that era, great review take care mate.
Best cars ever made, still the nicest car I've driven was a Zd fairlane. Would take these over any modern car especially imported junk. If you think these are big we have a 67 impala I'm building. It's still a meter longer than my 79 Chrysler regal wagon. Was surprised, it actually handles well and that was with the suspension totally stuffed before I rebuilt it. If you get used to it then you'll see they handle ok. You have respect for the guys car , makes me have even more respect for you.
yes i could tell the owner could really make this thing fly! but when i sat in it.. well yeh i was driving prob 20km under the limit the whole time haha.. the concentration it took to drive this thing was extreme haha def not a modern car
Thanks for the video! My old 1978 Ford Escort had no seatbelts in the back either and was completely legal lol that was back in New Zealand.. I miss all those cars like the cortinas, sierras and escorts, bloody nice engines those old cross flows, the escort OHV 1.3 and 1.6L but also the cortina OHC 1.6 and 2.0L especially the blue printed high compression one and the 2.3L that came in some of the mk5 Ghia Cortinas. I always wanted a mk1 cortina tho just for the look of it!
hello mate, nice review for an exceptional looking and performing ZB... i do not suppose you can advise of the width and offset of the front and rear rims?
Dude amazing car. You must be honoured to be able to drive something like that it's the kinda car you just find a straight rd and cruise for hour's love it.
haha you are not wrong my friend.. thankfully not many people have seen that first episode lol oh and that was the second time filming that malibu haha.. i still have the true first attempt, maybe ill post it one day for a laugh lol
I definitely prefer this look to the later vertical dial headlight formation, although that front is more differentiated from it's Falcon/Fairmont counterpart than this one. Many complain some Fairlane/LTD models look too Falcon like. I wish you had gone though the operation of the shift kitted transmission with us. I wonder if you can get a shift kit for a 1980s Ford Laser's automatic transaxle?
I see they are shooting up in value. These ZB have a nicer stance when lowered than the other fairlanes and falcons of that era, the XY is always the glory child of ford but it is not from its looks just its race heritage, if chip foose had to pick a aussie ford to do from 67-75 this would be it for sure, maybe second only to the XA-XC coupe
Imperial to metric ...if you own an xd xe ... you'll need to buy a socket set that has both too the panels and interior are metric but they used a lot of running gear from previous (imperial )
Never liked them when they were still around as daily drivers in factory original form, but that paint job and wheels make that car look really nice. I would have thought the brakes would need a major upgrade as well.
Yes indeed! hat goes off to him.. the detail was insane.. as i said i think im the only other person ever to drive it lol to say i was nervous is an understatement
Absolute Stunner I was lucky enough to have been given my dad’s ZB when I got my license in 88 Was in pretty good shape before the usual cancer spots on the qtr panels and doors seals Same colour blue too only ours had a black vinyl roof which made it look a lot more custom and classic 60s....... Just can’t beat that rumble of a V8.......🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼 Too bad I traded it in for a 95 Acclaim.............DickHead...... Great Review Brother...🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸
The Model before this had the 289 in it, arguably the most Bullitt proof motor Ford ever made. I could have had one back in 1980 for $500 but I thought it was an old man's car. Boy do you make some strange decisions when your young ...
My dad 1972 zf Ford fairlane 500 v8 351 sedan auto and me 1974 zg ford fairlane 500 v8 351 sedan auto I love like car big fan of Ford/ dodge/Chrysler i love like 3 car I love v8 engine
Lol I know I have it a miss because honestly it would be to sketchy 😂 the car has serious go.. but not an easy car to handle.. the owner and I both said will give the launch a pass fairly enough 😅
@Edward L Gross sorry but y'all tripping if you thing any of those old standard cars with out-of-date technology are actually good driving cars, by today's standards-they're not, drive any modern car and tell me I'm not right? it's called a restomod - looks of and feels old school, but youve actually got power/braking/ handling/performance. That car becomes "modern" with a modern fuel injected engine, drive train , suspension , ever tried to tune a carburettor? LoL Seriously all those old engines -302s 351s etc and 253s 308s are old junk, They sound good tho , but why not the best of both worlds?
This is my Dads car.. it seriously is done to perfection!! 👌
These photos and videos are really killer.. thanks Ross Reviews for taking the time to review Dads car.. you did a great job!
so happy you enjoyed the video! it was an honor to have it on the channel :) truly a work of art your dads ZB is..
@Edward L Gross im keen for more.. not an easy thing to find tho car of this caliber

The best! was so cool to have this car on the show :)

Glad you enjoyed it! gotta respect the classics
That’s a cool car! Credit to the owner done a magnificent job restoring it
100% amazing car
Great review mate. The late 60's early 70's Australian Ford's are some of the most iconic ever built.
True statement 👏
Man what a car. This was a nice surprise. Great review. Would love to see you review a SLR 500 Torana one day.
Maybe one day! lets hope be very keen to review one
Yeh that would be amazing if you found an SLR
I had one as my work car towing my bricklayers trailer. Very easy to drive and super responsive. Was the second car I owned . Bought for $1400 in 1977.
work horse!

"Imported junk"
You realize that being an adult means you're allowed to enjoy something without putting another down, right?
Need more of these era of cars on the channel!!
Hard to find but I’ll try for more
Thanks for the video!

what a beauty
2 of my favourite cars i've owned are my zc and zd. they are just the best
amazing cars eh! true classics
I had a zd, back in my mullet days. Awesome car to cruise and do BOG (bogan) laps around Perth.
hell yes mate! good times
A credit to the owner of the vehicle, and thanks for diversifying the type's of cars you review Rossco!
true credit to the owner! the car was in showroom condition... honored to have had it featured on the show
I nearly gave this one a miss but definitely glad I gave it a go. Sounds great and looks fantastic and I’m not a fan of older cars.
I’m glad you tuned in on this 👏 was a really cool car
Ross this video so took me back to my second car I owned which was a ZD 72 Fairlane
glad i could take you back mate :)
oooohhhh gosh I miss this car!!!! I learnt to drive on one of these. Wish I had it now!!!! Dam!
Would be worth some coin today eh! Beautiful cars
hello mate, nice review for an exceptional looking and performing ZB... i do not suppose you can advise of the width and offset of the front and rear rims?
i've picked up an ZA recently and will whack some draglites or street pros on it, reason i ask!
glad you enjoyed it mate.. sorry was done a while ago im not sure on the exact setup
my dad has the same car same color but needs to be rebuilt.. i remember him riving me in this when i was a kid was cool asf
When I was a kid a couple of our Falcons had Southern Cross hood ornaments.. weirdly enough, so did our Mark 4 Zephyr.. #backintheday
Loved that review, nice to see you experience old Aussie muscle.
thanks pete! this was a real treat! such a cool car
Love the old car being reviewed ! Keep it up !
Thanks! Will do my best to find more!
They are a great car , I'm in the middle of doing mine back up I've owned for 30 years it was my first car my dad bought me .
good work mark! well worth fixing up.. amazing cars
Can’t wait to see and hear this
the noise was so sweet
Great review! Really enjoyed this one on my lunch break.
Glad you enjoyed it! be cool to see a classic car featured on your channel bro
Love the channel mate, great to see some old school 👍
Glad you enjoy it! hope to show some more older cars like this was very cool!
Dude amazing car. You must be honoured to be able to drive something like that it's the kinda car you just find a straight rd and cruise for hour's love it.
oh 100% was a very very nervous drive haha but man was it sweet.. the kinda car where going nowhere is fun as hell
Awesome to see some old school definitely a sweet ride 👌
Yes it was! hope to show off more soon this was really really fun
What a gem, great work bro. 👍
Such a special car
Looking forward to this one 😎

had a lot of fun in this even tho i was driving well under the speed limit the whole time lol.. hope to have more on soon
Your car is spectacular too, well done.
amazing example
Where did you get your dash mat ?
Imperial to metric ...if you own an xd xe ... you'll need to buy a socket set that has both too the panels and interior are metric but they used a lot of running gear from previous (imperial )
haha that sounds typical of Ford.. have had issues working on my B series too with unusual sizes
I like watching Yr reviews Especially this one love old style cars love the zd'd the besr
Thanks brother 🙏🇦🇺
I wish. I have a zb but its Good from afar but Far from good.
This is inspiration for me 😊
this was my first car when i got my licence .. it had a 289w
what a car to learn in mate! epic
Hey John just wondering when your uploading the vz clubby loving content
will be most likely next week or the one after..
Beautiful old skool no lie 😃
So cool eh
I had one of these in 1980. Loved it. But it was a tank to drive. And the brakes were terrible.
What a nice machine 😀😀
It sure is!
Never liked them when they were still around as daily drivers in factory original form, but that paint job and wheels make that car look really nice. I would have thought the brakes would need a major upgrade as well.
THEY DO haha.. it did not want to stop easily let me tell you lol but man was a joy to cruise in.. the wheels and paint really set the car off
The instrument panel came from a 61/62 Lincoln Continental.
Almost .,.
No southern cross on the Lincoln
Nothing more comfortable than a old Aussie ford
😎😎😎✅
❤ the big Lanes
Very nice old car👌. A great car to go cruising in & take to car shows. The owner's done an excellent job on the resto.
Yes indeed! hat goes off to him.. the detail was insane.. as i said i think im the only other person ever to drive it lol to say i was nervous is an understatement
Noice I actually saw one of these with a blower on it
That would be nuts
& here’s me checking out the red vz👊
coming soon😏
Absolute Stunner

Great Review Brother...🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸
Speaking of old muscle cars, I know they're a pony car but. Would like to see you do a review of a 65/66 mustang Ross, fastback if possible.
lets hope i can find one! would love to get more cars from this era on
Oooh yes !!!
such a cool ride
Mmm. I want that car.
me too! :)
doesnt get better than this
Cruising heaven
classic

Ah man how good would it be now! 😂 only 500$ 🥲we never know what the future holds.. lots of cars I wish I got early too 😅

great cars! gotta love an old school V8
Boomers work in miles per hour.. we younger people are bilingual enough to understand both..
what ever it is.. im loving this car eh
$4000 is about $52000 in today's money.
How times have changed eh 😂
How about a review of a stock eh Holden. Don't stop don't steer don't go. Look great though.
🤣 would love to.. let’s see if we can find one
No 0 - 100?
4 minutes!
Lol I know I have it a miss because honestly it would be to sketchy 😂 the car has serious go.. but not an easy car to handle.. the owner and I both said will give the launch a pass fairly enough 😅
not zee bee its zed bee.
Put a Barra turbo in it with modern chasis n drivetrain n brakes!! Best of both worlds. PS. Subaru badge is a southern cross.
something special about a old school V8 in this i think.. lol i never thought of subaru.. good point tho im 100% its not the southern cross lol
@@RossReviewsau you're right , Subaru is actually the Pleiades star cluster M45. Just checked. Love your show 👍

Although it has alot if yank fairlane looks it was totaly built in oz not just assembled numb nuts,
So the steering is shit the brakes are crap in the day thats what they where enjoy
🤣 yup! But it’s perspective cars 50years ago where not that easy to drive
I’d have a ZB Fairlane over a ZB Commodore any day of the week.
🤣 facts
