Well one easy way - just download a "screen recorder" app for free from Google Play Store etc, then you just record screen while you view doorbell video. The app creates a video clip (eg: mpg4 or .avi etc.) That clip can easily be posted to You Tube, just like any other video.

I purchased a Ring about 4-5 years ago. My first experience was while across town getting a haircut, I received a notification and I saw a guy in front of my door and I heard my wife answer and open the door. I saw him very very clear and could hear everything that was said as if I was standing there with them. My on suggestion is to have it hard wired instead of using batteries.
Don't do it, huge waste of money, easily hacked, have to pay a subscription to maintain videos, did i mention easily hacked? Had it for 2 weeks before returning it
Can't wait to get mine. I ordered from the website you said and the code would NOT work. But a link came up I could chat with a rep. I told him I was trying to get the code to work and he said he refreshed it and to try again. IT WORKED AND I GOT THE $20 OFF. Looking forward to trying it out.

I'd pull out from drive way and on my way to the next block before my phone notifies me of motion at my door from my car pulling out. I don't know if this is a internet speed issue or the Ring server problem. 2. When your free cloud trial is finished, there is no way to view previous videos. If motion is detected, you must use your phone and look at it immediately or you will never be able to view it again. This time frame is very short, annoying when you get to your phone a few seconds late and want to see what's going on outside.
After just 2 years of continuous use, my front Ring doorbell camera was not capturing images anymore, just completely dark, even after. Ring support did a more than an hour troubleshooting diagnostic efforts. Ring ultimately decided the camera was beyond repair and gave me instead a half price discount coupon for the purchase of a new one. Well, because, while it was working well, this product provided me much feeling of security being able to view even from far away who is by my door, I bought the more advanced Ring doorbell product and give it another try. Hopefully my original purchase just happened to be a Lemon.
Amazing. Great review. Great looking product, and I love that it has IFTTT support. You could do things like turn a light on i the doorbell is rung (though this will probably infuriate the person ringing if you turn a light on but don't answer the door. Maybe link the doorbell to a vacuum cleaner, so the vacuum comes on after the doorbell is rung, so they think you're in but didn't hear the bell and won't be able to hear subsequent bells? Anyway I definitely want this thing and will wait for the price to fall a bit.
Since it does a live video call with you, anywhere in the world, I generally just answer the door, no matter where I am, and if the person wants me to come to the door, I either tell them I'm in the shower, on the toilet, or I have a broken foot and can't make it down the stairs, so they believe I'm home.
just bought the video doorbell 2 we have one on the front door and one on the back door/garage so we bought two of the video doorbell two and one spotlight camera with solar for the back yard
Wouldn't it be nice to put a alarm siren for suspicious or burglary attempt. You see someone trying to get in or picking the locks and push panic button and a siren sounds on the front porch. Boom. I better get paid for my idea. Lmao
You said in the video that if it ever got stolen, the company would replace it? SO MY QUESTION IS: if it were to get stolen more than once, how does the company back this up? Will they continue to replace it?
I had the ring 1 and Ring 2 Pro and I can tell you their junk and I've gotten rid of them because of it. Yes most of the time the car is leaving with the people in it that were at the door by the time the app comes up. Also having them on both doors cost me $60 per year to see my videos off of my ring camera on their cloud. I have a closed circuit TV security system I rely on and I don't have to pay anything to see the videos!
Say you get a notification on your phone when you are out that someone is at the door. What do you say, tell them you're out and that the house is empty?! Otherwise they will be wondering why you don't come to the door
One of the best investment ive ever made, being in the UK, where I am its fairly quiet, so not much activity that goes on just after 9 but least i know when there is a parcel arriving i can see who is delivering it, without throwing it on the floor
Ring has been a great investment! I just bought a home and live in a neighborhood with skunk bags that like to break into cars. Yeah it can be annoying everytime someone steps out door it alerts your phone but so far every time someone like mail man or sales person walks up it records. What also is great is it alerts you from other people with ring in neighborhood(within like mile radius) of their situations. For instance at 4am I got an alert saying 3 guys were going around breaking into cars from someone 2 streets away. Can even click a map to show incidents farther out and I see people posting drive bys in their area with video footage. Just glad to know I don't have anything like that yet close to us.
that looks pretty interesting, price is a bit high but it does look pretty good. Do you happen to know what voltage the doorbell wiring inside your house is ? must be something low like 12V DC since you touched it and survived, i'm not sure what other countries use but they might not be compatible
I got a ring door bell fitted last year.... unfortunately it did not stop my house being burgled as they came round the back and broke in through the patio door, I have now had security gates fitted to my doors and windows.
Somebody would make a jammer for that too ..but that's where cameras go at least ,at your own house ,to monitor your own business ,on your own property ...
The fact that the mount has a leveler included...wooow. I likes. Looks like a good product. Would be nice if it were able to pair with other wireless chimes not made by Ring but I can see why that wouldn't be an option.

We had our first package theft in four years and basically three out of three ring devices failed to detect motion. The reason I know is because I have a backup system from another brand. I called Ring Support telling them basically the system failed. She checked everything, Wi-Fi speed, zones, etc after putting me on hold, probably talking to a supervisor on how to respond, she said that it was because of cool down and frequency settings. The last motion was 8 minutes before and she knew it. I pay $30 for the Ring Plus and am 100% disappointed in their response. If you see this review on other videos, then it’s because I’m THAT DISAPPOINTED after spending nearly $1k in product and fees. Unfortunately, I have no idea which system is best at person detection, but I know it’s not Ring.
You cannot wire them backwards. Tells you this in the installation video provided with ring. If door bell is digital, then the diode must be connected the right direction. Thats is it though.
Great review! The thing I really like about the Ring doorbell camera is that unlike with most of the other doorbell cameras out there, having an existing doorbell (wiring) in place is not a necessity. It's good to have that battery option however, as mentioned in the video, it's ideal to connect it to your existing doorbell wiring so that it remains charged throughout.
It would be a game changer if there was a microSD card that saved a couple minutes of video (and maybe audio) each time motion was detected or someone pressed the doorbell.
First of all, just making a note that I am in IT. Decided to purchase the original Ring Video Bell from best buy. 2 hours later, it still won't connect to WIFI to complete the setup. Tried it on Andriod, Iphone , WIndows 10, OSX El Capitan. Its a no go. It fails every time when your setup APP switches from the temporary wifi back to your own WIFI to complete the setup. What a waste of time. 5 minute setup ? I am afraid not. Loved how they only include the French version of the instructions in the package …lol but that is only a minor problem. I am packing this product up as we speak and back to Best buy it goes. Experience is less than spectacular that is for sure. Good luck to the rest of you. Going to give the other door bell products a try. Now I am Contemplating whether I should even bother with the Stick up cam.
Just before putting the hardware back into its original box for the return, my stubborn self decided to try it again 5 more times. It finally worked and was able to complete it's setup. I don't have an explanation for what happened but I can only assume that this device's wifi component is sensitive with specific access points.
Hi, a friend of mine sais he has to wait a long time to see the live video when someone's at the door. This often causes the person ringing at the door to leave before the live video is available. Anyone else had this problem?
Looks like they work well for house applications, but how well would they work in an inside apartment installation? Do they view 180 degrees well enough to catch someone sliding down close to the wall of a hallway and , say , bust it with a hammer out of view?? Any apartment people try this camera in here?
A friend of mine has a Ring (Pro) and I must admit that it is a really nice device. But the major downside is is that it cannot record to a Nas or private server and it has no API. I hate it when the vendor locks you in their payed cloud service like that so I got a DoorBird instead.
Very interesting product. Just wondering if it can be setup so multiple users can get ring notification at the same time when the doorbell are being pressed.
A huge disadvantage of Ring doorbell is the absence of integration with Google Home Hub. This damages your entire Google smart home idea, and if you definitely want to use Ring, you have to stick with Amazon Alexa (Amazon now owns the Ring), which is not an option for many
Oh God, another gadget people did not realise they wanted until their friends got one. When i'm in I use a thing called a Window to see whos at the door, when i'm not in well, tough.
It depends on 2 things - Firstly the bell's connection to your wifi and secondly the signal your phone has. If your Internet is down that will stop it working at all.
Great review...great information thank you señor Jordan I’m considering to get a device like this and now that you mention it has a motion sensor and you can see what is it It will help me to find out about cats coming to poop in our property (disgusting) once we catch em by surprise they will never come back so I think this device will be great help for us...thank you for the information in this video.

Great review Jordan, 2 Q's: Apart from charge and bell the existing system, does it work with the handset? I got mine installed on kitchen, usually a better way to answer with dirty hands instead a mobile touch screen. Typical handsets work with only that two wires. Second question is about the cloud services. If you dont pay suscriptions, doesnt it even take a picture an store on internal memory? Many low grade chinnese -wired, no ip- devices do that, so since after more than a year without the promissed "on demand live feed" it could be a good feature if you miss the answer window. No one mentions how it sends everything it records back to the chinese manufacturers. A Rep. From ring tried telling a guy on reddit it was sending back feed back to china, but it was sending everything video, audio
It has to be charged before we try installation correct because we are trying to install right now and it seems like we need to charge it first. When will you press that orange button we are not getting any power from it so we are about to charge it and try tomorrow hopefully it does the trick
Good video BUT for 1 suggestion. You mentioned that it would ring the "chimes" in the house, however, did not say anything about the chimes coming with the doorbell. Do they? or do you have to buy the chimes separately?
Things people need to know: The battery with motion will not last long in anywhere busy. (mine lasted 5 days) If you HARDWIRE get a doorbell kit, and check the amps, it MUST BE AC OUTPUT Without a doorbell kit, good luck because you will need to order off an american company which is painfully confusing for a resistor (unless you intend to burn the home down by shorting out the transformer) The part is: FVT05006E25R00JE YOU MUST USE THIS.WHY OH WHY cant ring include it in the box - they include the DRILL BIT AND EVEN SCREWDRIVER.
Buy it from costco get year free could but just bought in store. WARNNING ever video shows front door at street level. My door is 4 feet above that and i think its sensor might see 30 feet out but not sure the hight it covers

I have a question, so if the motion detector picks up something, and you are not home, can you click the notification and then say turn the mic on and ask "what are you doing?"
My doorbell had problems with the hardwire where it doesn’t receive power and using the internal battery update I replaced the doorbell with the ring doorbell 2 and I wired the original on my battery power that totaled 12v and it started to work drawing power from the hardwire but I already had changed the doorbell
Depends on how you set up the motion zones. But it will start recording after a few moments of motion being detected. Then it stops recording once motion is no longer detected. No motion, no recording.
If you live in the upper mid-west, don't bother purchasing it. The cold winters drain the battery in no time, even when its fully charged and hardwired. The app is buggy too. Another minus is you're conned into subscribing to watch your own recordings! After a months free trial, its time to cough up.... after spending 200 bucks they still want your hard earned cash.
So I just egged this dudes house with my friend but we didn’t know he had one of thee doorbells so by the time we saw it it was too late. Do you think it notifies when someone’s there and if it’s JUST live video or can you go and look at previous video
Do you have the ability to temporarily deactivate the device? For example, we spend quite a bit of time sitting on our porch, and I dont want to get tons of notifications. Thanks for sharing this video. It was a great review.
you can turn off all the "motion zones' in your settings...so it doesn't detect motion. You then have to remember to turn them back on though. Would be nice if they had a temporary disable motion feature.
Jordan, thanks for the review. How did you know you initially wired it backwards? How can you tell? Does it not work at all when the polarity is reversed?I also hardwired my to my existing doorbell, and everything is working fine, EXCEPT that my battery went from 100% to 75% in one day. Perhaps I was playing with it too much, and it couldn't trickle charge it fast enough? Or do you think I also wired it backwards and it is not charging at all. Everything looks and works fine. I have a steady dim-white LED ring, which according to the instructions means it is hardwired.I'll wait overnight to see if it charges up or drains down during minimal usage. Thanks again!
wouldn't this device be better if it was more inconspicuous? without having ring name on it along with the faceplate trademark of ring. i'm really impressed with what this device can do. and like you said, it would be nice if it had a feature of spot seeing what was going on anytime you wanted to.
They're working on the live view feature. They've already got it working in the Stick Up Cam (standalone security cam I'm testing for them right now! Video coming soon). Hopefully that feature will make it to the doorbell before long as well.
Does it have to be screwed on to the front of your house? or can you stick it with something like command strips which won't leave any lasting damage? I am considering a ring doorbell, but I live in a private rented house with shared access to my neighbour's house to the back of my house, but I am also multi sensory, vision and hearing impaired, which is why I'm looking into something like the ring video doorbell.

They've implemented a siren in their Floodlight Cam that was recently released. It would be a great addition to their doorbell as well though!

Just before putting the hardware back into its original box for the return, my stubborn self decided to try it again 5 more times. It finally worked and was able to complete it's setup. I don't have an explanation for what happened but I can only assume that this device's wifi component is sensitive with specific access points.
Hi, a friend of mine sais he has to wait a long time to see the live video when someone's at the door. This often causes the person ringing at the door to leave before the live video is available. Anyone else had this problem?

Looks like they work well for house applications, but how well would they work in an inside apartment installation? Do they view 180 degrees well enough to catch someone sliding down close to the wall of a hallway and , say , bust it with a hammer out of view?? Any apartment people try this camera in here?

A friend of mine has a Ring (Pro) and I must admit that it is a really nice device. But the major downside is is that it cannot record to a Nas or private server and it has no API. I hate it when the vendor locks you in their payed cloud service like that so I got a DoorBird instead.
I have it and love it! And something like you said it wouldn't be a big deal if I didn't have it but now I can't see myself not having it lol
Very interesting product. Just wondering if it can be setup so multiple users can get ring notification at the same time when the doorbell are being pressed.
+David Liao Yup, you can add as many Shared Users to your unit via the Ring app! They'll receive all Motion/Ring alerts and access the video calls.
A huge disadvantage of Ring doorbell is the absence of integration with Google Home Hub. This damages your entire Google smart home idea, and if you definitely want to use Ring, you have to stick with Amazon Alexa (Amazon now owns the Ring), which is not an option for many
Oh God, another gadget people did not realise they wanted until their friends got one. When i'm in I use a thing called a Window to see whos at the door, when i'm not in well, tough.
glad i ran into this video, answered my question about the trickle charge battery.
It takes awhile to alert one when someone is outside or at the door, my friend was freezing 🥶 by the time it notified me, he was outside.
It depends on 2 things - Firstly the bell's connection to your wifi and secondly the signal your phone has. If your Internet is down that will stop it working at all.
Great review...great information thank you señor Jordan I’m considering to get a device like this and now that you mention it has a motion sensor and you can see what is it It will help me to find out about cats coming to poop in our property (disgusting) once we catch em by surprise they will never come back so I think this device will be great help for us...thank you for the information in this video.

Great review Jordan, 2 Q's: Apart from charge and bell the existing system, does it work with the handset? I got mine installed on kitchen, usually a better way to answer with dirty hands instead a mobile touch screen. Typical handsets work with only that two wires. Second question is about the cloud services. If you dont pay suscriptions, doesnt it even take a picture an store on internal memory? Many low grade chinnese -wired, no ip- devices do that, so since after more than a year without the promissed "on demand live feed" it could be a good feature if you miss the answer window. Thank you!
It's not the 'only' any more. You can now get a similar spec generic model for under a third of the price.

My family don't agree with the idea of having a ring doorbell i have given them some points, but i am not as experienced with the doorbell as you. could you or anyone suggest some juicy points in order to pursuade my family to get the ring doorbell. No one mentions how it sends everything it records back to the chinese manufacturers. A Rep. From ring tried telling a guy on reddit it was sending back feed back to china, but it was sending everything video, audio

It has to be charged before we try installation correct because we are trying to install right now and it seems like we need to charge it first. When will you press that orange button we are not getting any power from it so we are about to charge it and try tomorrow hopefully it does the trick
Good video BUT for 1 suggestion. You mentioned that it would ring the "chimes" in the house, however, did not say anything about the chimes coming with the doorbell. Do they? or do you have to buy the chimes separately?
Knowing when the inlaws are coming or at the door pays for this thing.
Things people need to know:
The battery with motion will not last long in anywhere busy. (mine lasted 5 days)
If you HARDWIRE get a doorbell kit, and check the amps, it MUST BE AC OUTPUT
Without a doorbell kit, good luck because you will need to order off an american company which is painfully confusing for a resistor (unless you intend to burn the home down by shorting out the transformer) The part is:

Buy it from costco get year free could but just bought in store. WARNNING ever video shows front door at street level. My door is 4 feet above that and i think its sensor might see 30 feet out but not sure the hight it covers

720p should do it, add a 5mp camera to record better videos and use 720p for doorbell notifications. Can't beat $50 current price
I have a question, so if the motion detector picks up something, and you are not home, can you click the notification and then say turn the mic on and ask "what are you doing?"

My doorbell had problems with the hardwire where it doesn’t receive power and using the internal battery update I replaced the doorbell with the ring doorbell 2 and I wired the original on my battery power that totaled 12v and it started to work drawing power from the hardwire but I already had changed the doorbell

What impact does it have on your internet? Uploading video 24x7 would be quite taxing on the bandwidth.
So how does it work if it's not 24/7?
Depends on how you set up the motion zones. But it will start recording after a few moments of motion being detected. Then it stops recording once motion is no longer detected. No motion, no recording.

If you live in the upper mid-west, don't bother purchasing it. The cold winters drain the battery in no time, even when its fully charged and hardwired. The app is buggy too. Another minus is you're conned into subscribing to watch your own recordings! After a months free trial, its time to cough up.... after spending 200 bucks they still want your hard earned cash.
So I just egged this dudes house with my friend but we didn’t know he had one of thee doorbells so by the time we saw it it was too late. Do you think it notifies when someone’s there and if it’s JUST live video or can you go and look at previous video
Do you have the ability to temporarily deactivate the device? For example, we spend quite a bit of time sitting on our porch, and I dont want to get tons of notifications. Thanks for sharing this video. It was a great review.
you can turn off all the "motion zones' in your settings...so it doesn't detect motion. You then have to remember to turn them back on though. Would be nice if they had a temporary disable motion feature.
Jordan, thanks for the review. How did you know you initially wired it backwards? How can you tell? Does it not work at all when the polarity is reversed?I also hardwired my to my existing doorbell, and everything is working fine, EXCEPT that my battery went from 100% to 75% in one day. Perhaps I was playing with it too much, and it couldn't trickle charge it fast enough? Or do you think I also wired it backwards and it is not charging at all. Everything looks and works fine. I have a steady dim-white LED ring, which according to the instructions means it is hardwired.I'll wait overnight to see if it charges up or drains down during minimal usage. Thanks again!

wouldn't this device be better if it was more inconspicuous? without having ring name on it along with the faceplate trademark of ring. i'm really impressed with what this device can do. and like you said, it would be nice if it had a feature of spot seeing what was going on anytime you wanted to.
They're working on the live view feature. They've already got it working in the Stick Up Cam (standalone security cam I'm testing for them right now! Video coming soon). Hopefully that feature will make it to the doorbell before long as well.

Yes. I have several phones that are all logged into the app with the same account details, and when it goes off, all of the phones get notifications.

Does it have to be screwed on to the front of your house? or can you stick it with something like command strips which won't leave any lasting damage? I am considering a ring doorbell, but I live in a private rented house with shared access to my neighbour's house to the back of my house, but I am also multi sensory, vision and hearing impaired, which is why I'm looking into something like the ring video doorbell.
How has it been in various weather? I'm worried that rain and snow is going to ruin it.
Be alert !!! when leaving in the cold weather state ., the battery will get problem when temperature goes below 30 degree. the battery will drain out.
Were you able to get the Ring to pick up motion consistently over 3-5 ft? Besides large trucks driving by I mean.
