Thank you so much! I came across your video looking up WellSeal. It’s not super common in the US. Been building bikes old and modern 35 years. I’ll be trying it. Torn gaskets are expensive.

Hi, I enjoyed your video. Would the shellac based gasket dressing work well with a cork valve cover gasket? I plan on using it on only one side to secure the cork gasket to the valve covers.

    Cheers for the video mate.
    Very helpful.
I only ever used Dirko sealant when working on engines but today I used Wellseal on water pump gasket, as when I done it originally without any sealant it leaked despite surfaces being well prepped.
Do you know how long you can run the engine after applying Wellseal?

I wouldn’t normally use wellseal on a water pump, probably use a polyurethane sealant like the black locktight. Wellseal will be fine to use almost straight away.

@@ProjectHeavengreat video! What can I use on a cam carrier?
      Can I use Hylomar universal?
I think VW specify or sell a silicon paste for this but surely silicone isn’t correct as it can fall into the camshaft area? Thanks
