I'm trying out this new type of content. Hopefully you all find this valuable or at the very least interesting to learn about. I'll still be posting tutorials here and there but I definetly want to do more of these types of video cause I love analyzing CGI in my favourite movies!
While there aren't any new Final Fantasy 7 movies, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth games do something amazing. They not only retell the original game's story but (Minor spoiler) also continue the tale from the Advent Children movie. It's pretty epic! A clue lies in Sephiroth's final words in the movie.
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV is also a CG film from 2016. As the title suggests, it is related to FFXV, serving as a standalone prequel. It's one of my favourite fantasy films and I highly recommend you check it out.
super hot take, i never liked ff7 and the only thing that changed it was advent children. 7 was my first ff but i never got past the few hours because its purely boring me out. at that point i have played and finished the classic ff lineup, up to 9. i still keep on trying to to play 7 over and over from the beginning but i keep on passing it out for another jrpg title. the only motivation that pushed me to finally get my grips moving forward 7 is advent children. as young as i was back then, id say the rule of cool really did big for me on that. ac might also be the strongest impression on my young self on why i learnt 3d modeling stuffs. i do get the criticms it got.. but tbh, because i found the og7 boring, i dont really care that much about the criticsms 🤣😂
I really must ask, how was it underrated? back in the days when this came out, CG Sephiroth was all the craze. His return his dialouge the voice. The apperance of Aerith and Zack was somthing to scream in glee. At least that what me and my freinds were like. xD
Did you know, in terms of animation only.. Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV is practically the successor to this movie? It did pretty much the same thing but with updated technology. But Advent Children still has way better story though.
I liked the movie however I had a headache that lasted for 3 days after finishing it. Tifa was my favorite part. I felt like she really needed an action moment like this after playing through her depression arc again
I tried watching this movie for the sake of the art style but fell asleep (which almost never happens with me). I haven't yet tried again, but I loved Kingsglaive, the FFXV tie-in movie/prequel, which is also fully CG, and similarly to this one, it is also a beautiful, half-baked mess with a lot of heart behind it and some dope action sequences.

I remember when some foreigner was going around preaching to people... in a christian dominated country. A country he doesnt look like he belongs in and speaking English. I'm christian and people like you are annoying.

Interesting. I’m tempted to play the games now too. However, I still want to watch the other standalone Final Fantasy movies! I’m excited 😆

@@tedkhoong yeah I’m gonna watch Kingsglaive after Spirits Within. Even tho Spirits Within has nothing to do with the original story.
Yessss I am not alone when I thought the Man of Steel battle was anime-like which was awesome.

Yeah I don’t blame you. The first half felt pretty dull. The saving grace were the action scenes. I’m definitely gonna watch Kingsglaive.
