  • This week we are on a new permission. An old farm property. The owner purchased the property in the early 90’s. At that time there was remains of a homesite in the old orchard. Rockwalls line the borders of the property. On the side of a large bank are the remains of an old farm dump. We have been cleared to dig the dump and metal detect the whole property. We will be spending the next few weeks working this property to uncover it’s history.
This is day one. Locating the dump, picking a test hole and digging through the layers. Jen, Cory and myself in the episode.
If you’re interested in purchasing some of our bottles can be found on our eBay shop. Link to our shop in the channel biography.

Good video, keep a eye out for old beer cans in those dumps. 1930s through 1950s. Lots of rare beer cans have been found in the northeast in old dumps. Oxalic acid cleans them up really well, even if they are very rusty. I hate finding tires and wire in dumps. Wire really sucks.

Thanks for the tips. I will definitely be looking out now. Yeah tires and wires are the worst. We just got on a nice 1890’s dump. Very cool stuff coming out. Thanks again 👍

Bring a come-along, hook one end around the tires and barbed wire and the other end around a nearby tree and ratchet that stuff right out of your way.

Great idea! I will keep that in mind. We haven’t been back this site for a year or more but definitely give that a try.
