Brilliant just brilliant.. Your videos are so helpful and informative. And you don't treat your followers like mentally challenged individuals. I had considered myself an intermediate knitter having knit for about 50 some odd years but I am self taught and your lessons continue to solidify and enhance my capabilities. Thank you so much. I'm sure that you are keeping the craft alive and available to new knitters as well as people like me.

Your videos are and demonstrations are thoroughly explained, and i love how close up to the camera you are, so we can see clearly what it going on.
Thank you for taking the time to do these videos.

This is the mistake I often make and don't realise until I go miles past. Now I'll be able to count accurately, thanks Suzanne

Well... I thought I was a pretty good knitter, but I don’t know nearly as much as I thought did! I’ve been counting rows for cables wrong for a very long time. I often wondered why my cables didn’t turn out like I thought they should. Thank you for the information, it is invaluable!

I'm knitting a poncho with a center cable front and back. To know for sure when to cross, I put a marker on the first row after the crossing a few stitches *before* the cable column. All I have to do is count the rows from the marked row. The trick is that the marker doesn't have to be *in* the cable, and it's a lot easier to count the rows of stockinette.

Excellent idea. Thank you for sharing. For me, I really want to be able to "read" my knitting, so that I can just visually scan and see what is going on in the rows below. But, there are more ways to skin a cat as they say. I do appreciate your input, and hope that you have chosen to subscribe to my channel. I have a video coming out today and reading your knitting and seeing where the "decrease" rows are, plus counting rows up from the decrease. Happy knitting.

Hi Suzanne, thank you very much for this clearly way to check the crossings! Yes, it is sometimes difficult, indeed, if you dont keep care, absent with your thoughts😊.... So with your video it is simple to be "on the right row"!!😆😆😆😀😀😀😀 Have a good time and HAPPY KNITTING FOREVER! GittaLloreley from Germany🍀😇😇🍀💗

Thanks, Suzanne. I will do a swatch for reference, like you did with the 2 colors. Interesting that the row that appears to cross is actually different from where the pattern has you do the crossing.

Thank you. I had this exact counting problem while doing a baby hat in the round. Lost track of rows. For that project it didn't make a difference but I'd hate it to happen on a larger garment.
