    Suzanne, huge thank you for this video! I am working on a sweater that has 25 cables - ropes, braids, a bunch that I don’t know the names of…I fixed EIGHT mis-crossings using your method - the last one had two branches crossing each other so I needed four needles and two sets of Kitcheners - but I am so happy to say that there was no ripping out, just surgery, with your video for guidance! Your method totally works and saved my sweater from purgatory! What a great way to start 2022!

    Incredible! I wish I had known this when I knit the last cable sweater. Indeed, I only saw the mis-crossed cable after I had finished the whole front and it was at the bottom so I left it. This is really amazing! Thank you.

    I am on the fence whether to fix my miscrossed cable. I was thinking I could try to make it lie correctly with a few sewing stitches after the fact.
    It's not going to be easy to do this, especially with a plant based fibre, where the shorter ends don't tuck in too well. But it's a great technique to know for other yarns.
    Thank you

    A wonderful video, as always. My only wish would be to address the terror of losing the two tiny ends. You showed how to weave them in. But what would the effect be if they were pulled out while working the fix? Is there a way to recover the project or is all lost!?
    By the way, after 3 practice swatches I successfully repaired my Irish cable sweater that I’ve been working on for over a year. And I didn’t lose the teeny ends! Your video saved the day ❤

    If I’m using superwash wool, do I need to weave my ends in further? More times? I’m knitting a gift and I’m concerned that the ends will work themselves out and the recipient will end up with a hole.

    • @SuzanneBryan
      @SuzanneBryan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, super ways wool will stay in just fine. The biggest thing is to block AFTER weaving in the ends, not before. That secures the end. I have a video on this here - th-cam.com/video/jfOKZMmc4cM/w-d-xo.html

    Another great video Suzanne. You've made finding what seem like unfix-able errors way way after they're made a lot less stressful for me and many others I am sure.
    May I suggest a video topic? I am knitting this poncho which is a garter stitch flat piece finished with a seam that butts one end against part of the side. This is a common way to make a poncho but with the garter stitch requires a combination horizontal/vertical seaming that is a little different than if the work is knitted in stockinette. Here's a link to the free pattern available on Ravelry in case others want to follow along:
