Cannot thank you enough ,i figured out i have been knitting wrong bobbles for my daughter knee length cardi ,all finished until left sleeve, got this video and here i am ,you are the queen of knitters .thx
I am so thankful for this video, my mom is 81 and always been an advanced knitter since she was 6 she knitted, but, she has not been able to knit in years and I recall her doing these bobbles and I can learn fast and knit anything and have for years myself done jumpers cardigans blankets hats etc, i never get bored of mistakes and unravelling my work and even starting again I just laugh and try again . I had never done a bobble in my life and you just made my day .. Thank you so much for this video . 😊
How simple you transform something that I have had a hard time understanding. Your instructions are perfect, as usual!. Thank you for doing this, Suzanne!
Thank you Suzanne! I truly wish I had had TH-cam and access to your videos back when I was first learning to knit (back in 1976, when I was in 5th-6th grade). So glad I've got your instruction now to show me the correct way to perform special stitches. You're a wonderful instructor! So happy I've found your channel! 💜💜💜
Oh, my gosh!! Thank you so much for this tutorial! I did not know there were different methods of making bobbles. I will definitely use them in my knitting. I have learned and incorporated many of your tutorials and now feel more confident while knitting. Thank you!@
This was incredibly helpful, I'm currently trying to learn how to knit more than just back and forth and your instructions are very clear and easily understandable
This video was sooo helpful!!! Compared to other videos, I re-learned the bobble BEST in the very first bobble example! I have ADHD and it's hard to catch onto things sometimes (I need someone to show me) and yours was perfect. Thank you every so much!
This is so wonderful to hear, Tanya! I have lots of helpful short videos, so I hope you've subscribed, I also have a Facebook page (same name) filled with helpful knitters of every skill level. ❤️
I love this! I like the stockinette one but I want to use the other bind off, that perfect center bind off is beautiful. This helped a lot for the cowl I'm working now thank you!
Thank you! My vintage pattern calls for me to do 'knot stitch' and the instructions dont make sense and leave a 'knot' with a weird hole. Now ive got three substitutes! I like the last one best 😊 now i dont have to dread reaching that part of the pattern!
Thank you for the great video, and the second bind-off for bobble. I like it better too. As a lefty, self-taught, hearing "left needle" or "right needle" was very helpful as I took a few written notes and I can then just reverse the words left and right as I was listening the second time, and I am good to go. The words "the other needle", as some other knitters use in their videos, makes it hard to write out crib notes. :0)
Very clear. I like your central bind off but it would be easy to forget the slide that stitch over to the other needle. Do you think these would be good with a baby blanket in a chunky yarn?
Thank you, Suzanne ! Made some terrible-looking bobbles on my new sweater project and had to take out a very considerable number of stitches to undo them. Watched your video and did the second version, and now I have some very cool bobbles!
I really like the centered decrease technique! Recently, I watched a tutorial on decreasing and the instructor mentioned that if a bobble is droopy, you can fix it by slipping the bobble's stitch on the return row/round. Haven't tested it yet . . .
Thank you once again Suzanne! I’m knitting a pattern that calls for 5 stitch bobbles and for binding them off it simply says purl the 5 stitches together which is kind of awkward. Even more so with size 7US needles (4,5mm)and mohair yarn! The technic you show is more suitable and makes it much easier! Hugs from Barcelona
Suzanne thank you for your generosity in sharing these tips. My preference is for the centre bind off technique in the second and third sample...but could I use that technique on the first knit sample? [Pardon my ignorance]
The swatch directions below the video, as viewed on my computer, simply says MB in 3 different places. When I click on the 3 dots below the video, to the right of the thumbs up or down symbols, this opens the entire auto-generated transcript to the right of the video... which is very helpful, thank-you.
Yes, in fact, I was using circular needles for this video. Let me know if there is a way I can help you! Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you have become a subscriber to my channel and that you will share my videos with your social media friends. That is the biggest compliment you can pay me! Thanks and Happy Knitting, Suzanne.
HI, Suzanne - can you explain the differences between nupps and bobbles? From what I can tell, bobbles are larger and therefore use a lot more yarn than nupps, and can be made in reverse st st, while nupps can't. So bobbles are bolder, and nupps are subtler - more delicate. Can both be made on yarn larger than lace or fingering? I really love all your videos - thanks so much for all the sharing!
I have a video on nupps too. Take a look at it, the link is at the end of my reply. Bobbles stand out from the fabric much more and are generally round. They are often seen in Aran knitting. Nupps lay in line with the fabric more and are often used in Estonian and other lace knitting. Here is the nupps video - th-cam.com/video/QXIgkl1GtZw/w-d-xo.html
The directions for the bobbles are in the description below the video. It might be easier to see them from a computer rather than a phone. But they are there. Happy knitting.
Thank you Suzanne for showing these three different styles 😃👏🏼🥰
Enjoy the patern

My pleasure, Anita, I'm glad the video was helpful! 😊

You're very welcome!
Thank you for this tutorial! It's really helpful and easy to repeat :)
I've only ever done the 1st type of bobble, but I much prefer the look of the last 2. Definitely going to be trying those soon! Great video!
Me too. Thanks and happy knitting.
Great video with 3 excellent versions of a bobble
Thank you for the great video, and the second bind-off for bobble. I like it better too. Thank you for this video! The 3rd technique is perfect for finishing a garter-st shawl that I'm working on
That's wonderful, Taylor, I'm sure your shawl will be lovely!
This video was so helpful! You are very clear with your instruction and looking forward to making the 2nd bobble in a knit hat I'm making! Thank you!!

Wonderful.

Awesome Suzanne, thank you.

The most neat bubble tutorials! I think the garter bubble texture looks better than the stockinette one
Thank you lova368! Happy knitting.

I have to make bobbles while knitting in the round on a hat. How do I minimize the holes on a bobble because I am not knitting front and back?
For knitting in the round, you do the exact same thing. Try it on a swatch and see how it works. Happy knitting.
how do I get the directions for this bobble stitch?
The directions are written out in the description below the video. Happy knitting.
❤thanks
Cute, cute!
Thank you, Mary! 😊
Can you show in crochet please
Unfortunately, I am not a crocheter.
Your blog link is dead.
