- This sling shot can be made with any wood from the yard trimming, as long it does not easily snap. You don’t need to be a carpenter either. All you need is a saw, drill, sandpaper, clear varnish (spray paint), rubber bands, and cable ties.

this works a lot better than most scrap tutorials i have seen
I been finding this for years as my favorite slingshot video back in 2016 or 2017

What did you use to make the slit on each end of the fork? To give it those tips? You wouldn't have used a lathe or anything, so how was that done? It just looks so much nicer with that little indentation there.
I used a knife, I don’t have any fancy equipment.

😲 WOW that's really cool I'm going to attempt this but I know mine probably won't look as good as his.
The only reason I want to attempt this is because ever since of THE PANDEMIC and the downtown area is shutting down the restaurants all the pigeons had nowhere to feast from so now they're coming into my backyard and they have lice and I don't know what to do My dog (German Shepherd) scares them away but she hurt her paw chasing a squirrel. So I can't let her outside freely to chase them so I have to go out there and spook them but now they know I'm not going to hurt them so they just sit there and wait until I go back inside So I was thinking maybe I could get something that I could throw at them and then that's when the slingshot came into my mind.🤷🏻♀️
I don't want to hurt any of them I Just want them to leave if they're only like a couple of them I want to care but they were 79 of them outside One time my grandmother counted 104 out there No joke We have pictures.

Can someone tell me why pouches are used?
It seems to make it actually work properly since mine wasn't quite working shot by it's rubber. If i am to make a pouch, can i do it without cutting the rubber? ( a pouch that is along the rubber and slides as rubber stretches)

You shouldnt use a cable tie friend....it can cut into rubber an cause it to fail. It would be better to cut a band in two an then wrap an tuck to secure too forks.
Which rubber do you use
From the Dollar Tree store, I already replace them 3 times, very easy to replace the rubber bands than keep shooting, but you can use better rubber bands and have fun.

Look around your house, I am sure you can find something can be used for a pouch, like a bag, belt, wallet, lady’s purse, old jean….I am talking about used & old, ready to throw away stuff.

Instead of waiting for months, I like to just put the wood in the microwave for a few minutes, it takes all the moisture out :)

rich- air drying gives a stronger better catty .....micro wave or even a oven can cause voids in wood an make it unsafe.

Just buy some proper bands and use the wrap and tuck method to attach rather than cable ties

@@mingwang7946 you can also do something called “over the top slingshot “ which is where the band goes over the top of the forks on the slingshot, it is more accurate and safe because it is secures to the slingshot by wrapping rubber bands around the main band, sorry if this was confusing I’ll leave a link: th-cam.com/video/OENAujaJ6gQ/w-d-xo.html
@@mingwang7946 using one band on each side of the slingshot without any knots in it also helps it last longer and it’s more accurate
